That was a wonderful analogy regarding the clothing versus hair. You are an inspiration to me and I will continue to watch and hopefully I have a story to report like you of longer and stronger hair. Keep making videos. I really love the videos of you and your husband as well. God Bless you!
I agree with your philosophy 100%. To add to that, I subscribe to the theory that less is more. Meaning the less I manipulate my hair- even for things that are supposed to be good for it - like poo'in, conditioning, protecting, detangling... - the longer I will retain it's length. So what I try to do is find a balance - leaving my hair completely unmanipulated, and doing maintenance on it only when necessary. For me, so far, so good.
ITA, if your hair is 6 inches long then you've worn that fiber every day, 24 hours/day, for 365 days. Even silk, the strongest natural fiber, would look a mess without great care under the same conditions.
soo bubbly and honest. I would love to meet you in person :) Yes, there is a saying to treat your hair like fine lace - i never got that analogy because I dont see my thick coarse hair as "lace-like", but its true no matter what your texture.
I agree. I've always thought of my hair as fiber. Alicia you look ultra cute in this video; and so very happy. I love you to Beautiful. Thanks for sharing{:-).
Wow, I never thought about viewing my hair like that. Now that you have mentioned that, it makes everything seem much clearer and relevant haha. So what that, THANK YOU! :) Btw, loving your twists.
Yup...exactly how I've been looking and thinking about it..hair is a fiber actually, so spot on..and I think the more we truly look at it as such, the more easily we'll be able to take better care of it.. I need to just really buckle down and realize that for my cashmere to stay soft and brilliant, I have to take extra care. Thanks Alicia!! :)
...and stop trying to come out curls lol. It's curly hair!!! So stop combing and combing and combing and combing to make them go away. This helps me alot.
i really liked that analogy! because honestly i understood that the more you wear your hair "out" the more wear and tear you put on it, but explaining how it is a fiber and is similar to cotton clothes really helped it sink in...thanksssssss (oh and p.s., i managed to lose 5lbs of baby weight this week!)
Thanks!
