  • BRAVE people of Iraq and Brave MUJAHEDDIN are doing great JOB on USA and puppets in killing them slowly OIL and GAS wars.

  • shiites in iraq

  • No matter, they are headneck killers. Go insurgents!!!

  • Historically, invading troops, regardless of their ethnic background, have acted in a brutal manner in occupied territory. They steal from the population, rape the women, beat and kill civilians, etc. America is not an exception to this rule. So, I think most resistance fighters in Iraq are indeed bona fide freedom fighters driven by the instinct to preserve your own. You can't judge a man without walking a mile in his shoes. These guys have families too.

  • Exactly, but our media, which doesn't know the definition of objective, only presents the halliburton/government propoganda line.

  • What exactly are they fighting for that make them "freedom fighters" What did we take away from them?

  • First of all your Country put Saddam Hussein in power. Then when you did not need him anymore, you invaded Iraq. The USA is plundering and raping Iraq of it's resources. The USA is nothing but pure Evil!

    Long live the resistance!

  • A lot actually. The west has broken the political power of Islam in 1924 by destroying the Islamic state. Upon that the Muslim countries were colonized and after that dictatorial puppet regimes (like former Saddam) were installed causing oppression and violence. Muslim countries were divided and set up against each other. Palestine is being tortured by Jews who are backed up by the west. And now the religious values are being attacked and mocked

Wouldn't you fight to "free'" yourself from this?

  • Most certainly. However the term "freedom fighter" implicates that we are intruding on their cultural norms and are not allowing them to practice them. For example, the freedom to wear a berka (spelling?) were France has made them illegal. Palestinians have every right to resist the ethnic cleansing from the Zionists, Palestine is fighting for its right to live.

  • As an American i don't like being grouped up with the Zionists, Id prefer people say the "US goverment" over the generic terms "the west" or the "USA". I hate Israel and hate the war but i know US soldiers aren't evil.....their just fucking stupid. They are FAR from being like the Zionist IDF who want to kill innocents.

  • The western governments are intruding on the Islamic cultural norms by forcing political systems in the Muslim countries which are totally not compatible with the religion of the area (like democracy and secularism). Islam and politics can not be separated in Islamic view. You mess with the politics in the Muslim countries and you mess with Islam.

I do agree with your second comment. I will use the terms government or policy.

Last question: Isn't being prepared to kill out of stupidity evil?

  • The act in its self is evil, but when i see two groups of people whom both believe what they are fundamentally fighting for is the "greater good", i view it as tragic.

I can understand Iraqi's refusing "American democracy" but democracy in general i don't quite understand. Democracy doesn't necessarily mean secularism, they can have religion in government if they pushed for it. But whatever its their land.

  • I think that they are just trying to free their country...as the americans do against the british or we the spanish againts the french or the muslims...

They use diferent tactics, wich are totaly brutal...but their objective is to free irak.

  • They are not trying to free the country. They want oil.

  • Government wants oil. Americans want Freedom. Majority wins.

  • The Iraqi people are not fool enough to fall for the hopes of a people who have already given their own Constitution away to a government that wants the oil of Iraq and has already deftly robbed the freedoms and the wills of its own people. The fucked Amerikans are the last to know anything of freedom. It is a nation of TV junkies and idiots.

  • Lol you are absolutely correct, but just because they are sheep it doesn't justify demonetization of all Americans. Most Americans have no stance on the war whatsoever. How do you demonize those that don't give a fuck? Who have no opinion on the matter. Ignorant?, definitely, but you cant get anymore civilian then focusing on your own life like these bastards do.

  • In a condensed statement: A majority of American neither support or are against the Iraq war, they don't give a fuck, they care more about the next American Idol then how many of their own troops die in Iraq.

  • Nice suit Rivkin. Park a tank in my back yard, and blow up my family, and I'm gonna kill you. I don't care what flag you're waving. Guess I'm a sympathizer.

  • LOL at the american propagana ministry, cant they do better. And i do belive the englishman (if he is) are very brave and loyal to hes peoples.

  • This is so wrong. Vote Ron Paul 2008 to end this occupation nonsense immediately. The iraqis are just using the Us to do their heavy / dirty work among their stupid little tribal conflicts.

Us military doesn't understand the culture and is being played like fools by various iraqi factions seeking petty advantages over each other and trying to enrich themselves. They don't support a unified democratic iraq. They want their own little ethnically governed regions.

  • It's true. And it was the same reason we lost the Marines in 82' we unwitteningly got pulled onto one side in a civil war, and consquently became a legitmate miltary target. When are we going to learn that mideastern cultural is not predicated on nations but on tribes. The only thing held Iraq together as a nation was the absolute control Saddam Hussein had over it.

  • wow, there are actually some intelligent comments in here. where were all you guys 4 years ago.

  • Sadly, asleep and just enjoying our own lives, oblivious to the lies, injustice and rising tyranny around us.

  • David Rivkin is wrong. George Washington never won a battle. Yorktown doesn't count and would not have been won if the French Navy had not bottled up the British. As for the issue of "insurgency" --that's a politically loaded word anyway; it describes neither the Iraqi resistance NOR the American resistance against the British.

  • the american revolution involved insurgents. i'm american and i don't see anything wrong with stating the truth.

if this is the people bush surrounds himself with no wonder iraq is a complete failure.

  • Mr. Rivkin -

    Let's see:

    ~armed uprising - check

~insurgents - ever hear of the Minutemen?

~regular or guerilla combat - the Redcoats complained the Yanks didn't 'fight fair'. They had the audacity to hide behind trees instead of fighting in formation. Yup

~conduct sabotage and harrassment - ummm...Boston Tea Party???

  • Bravo!! At last some logic and facts placed into context!! From someone who had family members fighting in that war back in the beginning of this nations, I am ashamed at what this administration has done to our country and our standing in the world.

  • There nothing wrong with the insurgency or insurgents in depends on what side you fall on. Idiotic neo-cons compared this to the American Revolution, which is correct and both involve insurgencies but this time where Britian and its hard to take over a country we the people don't want you.

  • You are correct --the NEOCONS are idiots! And the comparison to the revolution is best done by William Pitt, Earl of Chatham. To understand him one should read his entire address to parliament. The word "insurgent", however is loaded and deliberately used for its propaganda value.

  • Wikipedia:

An insurgency, or insurrection, is an armed uprising, or revolt against an established civil or political authority. Persons engaging in insurgency are called insurgents, and typically engage in regular or guerrilla combat against the armed forces of the established regime, or conduct sabotage and harassment in the land in order to undermine the government's position as leader

  • David Rivkin claims that the American Revolution was not an insurgency, but then discribes exactly that, an insurgency. An insurgency is a revolt against the ruling class by those not recognised as having authority or having little authority. That's exactly what the US Revolution was. This guys a lunatic. Take some logic classes before you embarrass yourself worldwide for God's sake.

  • Saddest of all is knowing how all of this was predicted by so many of us, and all of it could have been avoided.

I honsetly believe those at PNAC and other pro-invasion neo-cons knew full well the impending clusterf&*k they were about to unleash.

  • Wolfowitz acknowledged that he knew in pre-war interviews, but they were determined to invade no matter what, and he refused to let generals who disagreed even speak their objections.

There were 3 main reasons for the invasion: protect Israel, control the oil, and control the reconstruction contracts.

None of these reasons is worth the life of a young man or woman from the US.

  • I think it's more than that. Ultimately they want to provoke a clash of civilizations. The term neoconservative was first applied to hawkish social democrats during the cold war. The underlying philosophy of neoconservatism, camoflouged as it is with free market, republican rhetoric, is trotskyism and a strain neo-jacobinism fround in Bolsevism. The ulitmate agenda is to usurp the Constitutional Republic, itself.

  • I believe it was William kristol (father of bill kristol) who first used the term, and defined is as: "a liberal who got mugged by reality".

    Theyre no trotskyists, jackass.

Theyre the hard right of the establishment.

    Period.

    Read their writings.

This anti constitution CT is crap, the constitution is only so powerful and has been usurped for generations, by anyone who can get away with it.

  • Liberal who get "mugged" by "reality" are only exchanging one naive nightmare for another of insanity.

  • if someone is willing to kill themselves for the cause, they must really care about their beliefs.

  • Plus the resistance fighters who are fighting out of hatred after having friends and family tortured, raped and/or murdered.

We've made a lot of enemies in Iraq.

  • A British general compares America's mistakes in Iraq under George Bush with Britain's mistakes in America under George III.

He is disputed by a Bushee doughboy lawyer who obviously knows nothing of war or personal violence.
