The number of people who believe that the planet is warming is at its highest level since the fall of 2009. According to a survey conducted in December 2011 by the National Survey of American Public Opinion on Climate Change, 62% of Americans say they think global warming is happening. That’s up 7% from last spring.
Would Moncton debate a climate scientist about classic literature? That is why real, working paleoclimate scientists won't debate with Moncton. Moncton is dishonest, misleading, cherry picks, misquotes and then misunderstands the climate science. I would love to see him in a written debate against a qualified paleoclimate scientist.
@christo930 Monckton not asking for debate about literature. Your amazing stupid here since Monckton is asking for a debate with Gore. Are you stupid to think that Al Gore is a paleoclimiate scientist? So based on your OWN logic put forth then in place of debating a scientist Monckton should debate people like Gore who is not a scientist yet it is Gore who refuses to debate? Your logic defies reason and just why does Gore refuse debate and more stupid since when is Gore a scientist?
@Albertkallal You don't understand my point. Moncton's speciality, what his degree is in, is classic literature. So I said that Moncton wouldn't want to have a debate with someone who isn't an expert in classic literature, just like a professional climate scientist doesn't want to debate a non climate scientist ;like Monkton. Monckton said, in this video, that professional paleoclimate scientists won't debate him, I explained why. I am not defending Al Gore, who is a politician, not a scientist.
Monckton is terrific debater and enjoys debating any subject the person has knowledge of. You presented zero evidence of whom he would debate. You're so called "science community" continues to have Al Gore speak and voted to given him the Nobel Prize when they at the same time refuse to correct all the errors in his movie that they supported. Until that science community removes their support of Gore or corrects errors in that movie you have a real problem of credibility here
@Albertkallal I seriously doubt that Moncton would have a written debate with anyone. He just tried to have a written debate with potholer54 on wattsupwiththat and got his ass handed to him. You don't get how lopsided a verbal debate is, with a real scientist who has a reputation and credentials and has to be extremely cautious in what they say, whereas Monckton doesn't have any of those worries and can say anything he wants, now matter how wrong he is. In a written debate he would be destroyed
@christo930 One other thing,... I share your view of Al Gore and I have just as much contempt for him as I do for Monckton. Neither one of them should be involved in a scientific debate.
Many of the disinformers routinely attack and smear climate scientists. Some routinely publish their e-mails, encouraging their readers to cyber-bully scientists who are doing nothing more than trying to inform the world of the consequences of its untenable choices. But we have become inured to it — heck, there’s a whole TV network devoted to spreading lies
Thyroid imbalances of any kind--but most notably Graves' Disease--disturb normal function in every cell of the body. One of the aspects most noticeable to others is its effects on the brain and emotions. Thyroid hormone is now recognized as an essential brain chemical, necessary for proper function of other brain chemicals. Graves' Disease can turn even a mild-mannered person into someone who is often irritable, angry, emotionally unavailable or self-absorbed.
Graves' patients don't necessarily understand that their feelings originate in out-of-whack brain chemistry, and sometimes blame others for their fragile emotional state. Their thought processes are badly affected and distorted, and they become aggressive liars.
While the body will usually heal in time with proper treatment, permanent heart damage, osteoporosis, and permanent effects on the brain can occur when hyperthyroidism is left untreated too long. It can take months or several years, depending on treatment method and individual response, for thyroid levels to be stabilized and for the healing process to begin; and it could be a few more years before full recovery takes place.
@Vierotchka So then you are the self-appointed judge and jury on this matter then? In other words you're going to be the self-appointed guru that tells everyone how to think and who we have to listen to? I love the hypocrisy of you socialists. You say don't go around telling people what to do and in the same sentence your breaking your own rule! Too funny!
@Albertkallal My my, I have seldom seen such a clumsy and badly thought-out straw man and ad hominem attack as you have written here! LOL! Oh, and you have absolutely not the first scintilla of the first glimmer of the tiniest notion of what my political position happens to be - too funny! You do live in a horrendous and nightmarish version of La-La-Land, poor little ignorant diddums!
@Vierotchka Made no ad hominem attack but simply pointed out your blatant hypocrisy of you asking people to reject Monckton's judgment based on you becoming the self appointed judge here! While I made no ad hominem attack once again your hypocrisy shows since that is exactly what you did here to Monckton. Such type of hypocritical reasoning on your part makes it rather easy to determine that you speak and quack like a sodalist duck with such flawed reasoning so typical of socialists
Lord Monckton is not a Lord, the house of Lords has written to him and asked him to stop calling himself a Lord. Scientists don't debate shammers because they don't want to give the shammer (Monckton) any credibility. How dare they also attack a genius likje Dawkins in the way they have.
@WedgieMajor Lord Monckton is by rights is given title Lord. The request is to stop calling himself member of the House of Lords. Lord Monckton has repeated stated he is not a sitting or voting member of the House of Lords and has NEVER claimed as such. Recent legal interpretations shows Monckton is correct in this regards and he is awaiting for an apology. His title was never under question but only the claim of him being a non voting and non sitting member of the house of Lords
With all the evidence and DISCLOSURE of FALSIFIED DATA concerning the ICCP report on global warming, it is obvious that global warming is a fear tactic no different from any religious dogma.
The simple fact is, TRUE science ALWAYS leaves room for correction. When Al Gore tried to convince the world "the debate is over", he immediately discredited himself, while spitting in the face of the scientific method.
@doinyourmum Yes Lord Monckton suffers from graves disease. And like most left socialists, you claim the caring and sharing high ground, but at the end of the day it clear you don't have any compassion for human kind and even now are willing in public to make fun of those with handicaps or debilitating diseases like graves of which Lord Monckton suffers from. No wonder you green socialists pushed bio fuels and the result is food riots and starving children around the world.
@Albertkallal I didn't know that such a disease even exists! And I thought he's just that way! Nothing wrong with him. In fact, made him more charming. So much of knowledge and confidence can do :)
If I could guess (I don't have any facts to back this up) we are moving towards climate extremism (hotter summers and colder winters) simply because I have experienced them. If I could point to what caused this I would say 90% due to a natural cycle and 10% perhaps due to excess pollution. Perhaps the 10% is overly generous.
Get educated. The man made global warming alarmists, by the way, the same con men that said planet earth was going into a deep freeze in the 1970's have moved on to the next scam.
The scammers have tossed Al Gore overboard as he is a laughing stock now. The new scam is "Species Holocaust".
“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is !
Now that we know Al Gore and his carbon tax scheme is a hoax. Can we the taxpayer stop paying these man made global warming puppets billions of dollars to be puppet masters to the U.S. govt.? This is nothing but a new tax and to gain more control over the people.
The climate models are not actually models you know they are spherical crystal devices that when the climatologists hands are laid on them a swirling mist reveals what will be happening in the future
"Debating" an issue isn't an ontological exercise, it's a political one. You aren't going to learn anything by argueing against set science. You have to study and examine the phenomenon on site, take instrument measurements and go over the data against past studies. They're SCIENTISTS...it's their job. Not Lord Monkey, or any other neocon interest. Calling Gore names and belittleing the scientific community in general isn't reasuring to me that Lord Monkey has any professional credibility
You are making an act of faith to accept those authorities who are wearing those white smocks (or perhaps purple ones?). You not done the science and thus you listen to those who can bear witness and testimony for you. Those scientists gave authority and credibility to Gore and endorsed science in his movie. Monckton pointed out 30+ gross science errors in that movie. Until that SAME science group corrects Gore's errors then why accept their testimony on an act faith as you are?
You are asking us here to accept the witness and testimony of the science community which banded together to give Gore the Nobel prize. Why accept their witness and testimony when they refuse to correct Gore's gross science errors? Without peer review and no correcting of bad science then why accept their testimony and why do I have to go to Moncton to find these errors? Until you direct me to your scientists that care to correct those errors then your position is without merit
@Albertkallal ...because you got the whole thing backwards. Listen to the Monkey, he's belittleing David Suzuki as well. an EMINENT scientist who has been on top of the data for years. It's GORE who's data IS PEER REVIEWED, not Lord Monkey. That's why the Monkey is "outside" the debate, looking in, challenging people to debates that aren't required. He's trying to get Gore down in the gutter where he is. The-Science Is IN! All Lord Monkey is interested in is prolonging the debate.
If you read climate gate emails you see that there is a cabal of "pal" review and that they prevented others from receiving peer review. If science used in Gore's movie is peer reviewed then how come they not corrected the errors and how come you cannot direct me to sites that shows those corrections from that same peer review community? Until you show me those corrections then such peer review is worthless. Why trust people who ignore truth and refuse to correct their errors?
@herbal1971 I can only give my personal answer. I noticed that Lord Monkey was making religeous appeals for people to remain stupid. If the "righties" can't have your complicit understanding, then they'll settle for your fear, by way of your ignorance. You want to know whether Gore is telling the truth, then do the numbers yourself. Go to your local library and crack a book. Ask for "peer reviewed" technical material. Stay away from easy-to-read magazines, that can be compromised.
@bryanttillman I totally agree with what you say about reading peer reviewed material (as much as science can be impartial) but I'd really like to know why Gore won't debate. I suppose we could ask him but it doesn't look like he'd answer about why he won't debate. :)
I'm not saying I believe Lord Monckton but at least he's offering to debate. I don't know what his game is but it seems no more sinister than Gore's.
@herbal1971 What you got to remember about minor nobility, Like Lord Monkey, is that they are a bit daft, from all the inbreeding, and they could go off at any moment, about anything. In the time it took me to type this, Monkey chatted on comparing Gore to Nazis, accused the left of cowardice, of "bed-wetting", of disingenuity, etc. There comes a point when talk must give way to action. Gore is trying to do something. I don't know what Monkey's intentions are.
Gore gang uses fear mongering and in fact Monckton is the one posting 30+ corrections to their bad science in Gore's movie. You play straw man of religion when it is science community refusing to correct own errors! You say accept Gore on an act of faith. You not done experiments so you can only go read the testimony of others in some book who bear witness to that event. This means you making an act of faith and accept their testimony without their willingness to correct errors?
@Albertkallal All right, all right....I don't want to be the asshole, here. Tell you what, let me see these 30+ "corrections" first. Gimme the link and I'll look at it. But I'm going to tell you right now that even *I* don't consider Gore THEE authoritive wittness on the matter, he is NOT a scientist...and this matter requires a PROFESSIONAL presentation, so I would recommend that the one party you need to discuss this with would be little other than a scientist, like David Suzuki. Fair 'Nuff?
Peter Laux, Locomotive Engineman from Australia, “will pay $10,000 (AUS) for a conclusive argument based on empirical facts that increasing atmospheric CO2 from fossil fuel burning drives global climate warming.”
In other words you choose a political shill that failed as a presidential candidate who has massive investments in "green tech" and a company traing in carbon credits that stands to gain dozens of millions of dollars against a guy who has no skin in the game and has more credible arguments?
No wonder the US is going downhill in the last 20 years if it is full of people with your mode of thinking. (I believe Feynmann called it cargocult science and magical thinking).
@52111centrumcz As I said before, "crack a fucking book". The former VP invested in e-stocks he believes in that will help the environment. If he gets richer in the process, fuck it. The whole show is about the change. Religeon is in the crosshairs, too, so watch it, bub.
Yes - it is not suspicious he is pushing transferring public funds to his own pocket through a roundabout in inefficient technology that will increase the price of everything you buy, yet not affect the global enviroment in any significant way.
"Religeon"....great. Now I find out Americans are idiots even when they are atheists. Then again why am I suprised, the US public school system is worse in all indicators than the one in Albania, incluing lower literacy levels.
We output 3% of co2 compared to 97% of nature. It colder today then the medieval warm period. Starting some temperature reocrd from the year 1800 (a VERY cold time period) to now is downright stupid and silly. Fossil records of northern climates like Greenland show tropical like trees and recent melting has exposed entrances to ancient mines that were obviously not covered by ice. So now it not man's co2 output but some methane that was ALREADY there even in warmer times then now?
Al Gore: One of the biggest liars in history. I wish one of the massage therapists that he tried to fondle had broken his jaw so we wouldn't have to hear his lies
The mythical methane tipping point is just that = some myth. The important debate has ALWAYS been about is the output of man's co2. Oxygen is about 18% and co2 is not even 1%, and in fact not even 1/10th of a %. In fact it is 0.038%. More important of that tiny % man's output is ONLY 3% of that tiny amount. Simply put man's co2 is not driving temperatures anywhere REMOTE close as to these clowns like Gore claims (who sits on a carbon trading board).
@gnossticc I'll bet dollars to dingleberries that's either irrelevant or incorrect.
The consensus on anthropogenic global warming and its severity is overwhelming. The only people who deny it are right-wingers who get their attitudes on this directly or indirectly from corporate propaganda, or brain dead conspiracists who think they know more than all the real experts in the world, and are doing this for attention.
I think the lord has nothing more then a cart full of dung, to back up what he says, about climate change. You're a dipshit, that's why they will not fuck with your crazy ass.
First of all, there's no need to have such a potty mouth. Furthermore, if your intellectually capable of pointing out something that you disagree with in the video based on math or science then I all ears here. It is my general experience of those who are intellectually bankrupt and ignorant are those at resort to Ad Hominem Attacks when they don't have a wooden leg to stand on. Your comments here are wonderful example of this bankrupt intellect that you have.
@Albertkallal You're kidding right, i know that potholler54 ripped him a new ass. Like you are above me somehow, well fuck that. I don't claim to be smart. But i don't lie to people so i can make more money off of these dumb ass people, that buy his shit.
He is wrong and knows it ! You think to much of yourself, realy. Here you go look at it. LOL the 5th one dumb ass. Global Climate Change - Debunking Lord Monckton 5
Al Gore disallows rational debate, with good reason. How do our people, cows, and SUV's affect other planets? That's right, a quick academic search engine produces many scholarly, peer reviewed publications showing that Earth is not alone in this. Ice caps on Mars are melting. Saturn, Neptune, Jupiter, Pluto are warming. Our temperature changes over the last several hundred years correlate nicely with solar activity. Folks, it's a con, designed to tax, control, and dominate a misled population.
FACT: CO2 is heavier than air. Rounding up the % composition of "air" to whole numbers yields 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% Argon. CO2 at 0.03% is not even 1 tenth of 1%. It is heavier than air. If you can't lift your umbrella because it's too heavy, how can you hold it over your head? How can CO2 get into the upper atmosphere to create an imaginary 'heat blanket' if its too heavy to get up there? Clear thinking can readily rend the implication of this simple fact. CO2 is our friend.
@ndrthrdr1 And those Scientists are all probably bank rolled on special interest groups so they can get funding for their other projects, sadly. The fact is that the temperature would only go up by about 1 degree over a period of a hundred years IF the earth was actually warming due to C02 emmissions. 1 degree in temperature difference will not do anything at all but make it 1 degree warmer where I live, which I honestly wouldnt mind.
@tehgrunt3 said "those Scientists are all probably bank rolled on special interest groups"
You think that science funding is a match for big oil?
Wow. They have you right where they want you. If you actually think that there's a massive international conspiracy of scientists secretly conniving to trick the general public, there's no reasoning with you.
Start a car in a closed garage, wait 5 minutes, and then let's see if you think that burning fossil fuels isn't harming our atmosphere.
You can drown in pool of water just as easy as pumping co2 into a closed garage. The idea that this stupid logic shows that water or co2 is a pollutant is so stupid as to show you have a mind of a 5 year old in terms of logic. Lead in gas or sulfur dioxins is pollution. Through the marvel of Photosynthesis CO2 gives much of the bulk and food value of say your potato. Without co2 then digging up potatoes would leave a huge hole in the soil if that was the result of food value in potato
@Albertkallal You're too stupid to understand the science behind global warming. Remain ignorant, dumb shit. I just hope that I meet one of you just before I go. I'll do the world a favor and take you with me.
If Gore has all that supposed science on his side then why refuse to debate people? Furthermore the new temperature dataset from the U.S. (BEST) whows no warming for 10+ years now. During this time co2 has been increasing so what explanation is for CO2 increasing but temperature is not? Did the CO2 molecules phone up physics community and ask that laws of physics be broken? Only logical conclusion here is that man's co2 Is simply not driving temperatures as claimed by these clowns.
Who said greed and wanting to tax (and take) money from people is a conspiracy? Find me government employees running up and down the halls of their building crying out that we need less taxes and less government (employees?). We NEVER said this is conspiracy but is just plain old grabbing of people's money. If you bothered to read climate gate emails you see abuse of science process and repeated use of "the cause". That "cause" is their desire to redistribute wealth through socialism
@Albertkallal Are you unaware of the rapid melting of polar ice? Do you think that the government wants to trick people into burning less gasoline and paying less gasoline tax? Yes! That must be it! The government wants people to pat less fuel tax.
What the hell is your problem? I would say "Get a clue."
...but that's clearly beyond your mental capability.
The ice melts are normal and those ice melts are exposing fossils and even entrances to mines that clearly where exposed without ice cover at previous time periods. And more interesting we see less ice minimums for three years in a row (this means ice is growing!). In fact we seen such ice melts and not only does fossil records show this so do historical shipping records. This means that man's CO2 output is not shown to be the cause of this melting. It occured many times in the past.
@ndrthrdr1 Nope. IT's been proven by real (non-government funded) science that humans do not impact the temperature on Earth. I told many tree huggers this, but if you are really concerned about the amount of carbon being put into the air, then just do the reasonable solution and kill yourself. Humans bring more carbon than anything else. Of course, you libs wouldn't do that because you are all hypocrites.
Going by your guess, I'm assuming you're a dumbass libtard atheist?
@gamefreak1000000 Without specific citations of your claims which we can verify ourselves, your claims can simply be ignored by those of us who understand the nature of empirical evidence.
How would an environmentally responsible person killing himself make sense? Killing a polluter, on the other hand ...
@ndrthrdr1 You're exhaling, right? Exhaling co2 in the air is considered polluting, correct? Shouldn't you kill yourself for putting soo much c02 in the air?
@ndrthrdr1 If what you mean by ignorance is actual intelligence, then I will. You continue wallowing into your fantasy land where the planet is endangered by soo called "global warming" that is caused by humans. I'll live in reality where we have many more issues to worry about such as millions of job losses, too many regulations (such as cap and trade), corporate bailouts, illegal immigration, and socialist changes.
@gamefreak1000000 This is false. Please check out "Climate Change" on wikipedia. THERE IS NO DOUBT. Sealevels are rising. 97% of ALL scientific institutions agree with it. Frankly just 43% of Americans. But if when I see that politicans denying climate change today are the same who were in favour of the war on Iraq and high risk hedgefonds, I doubt their motives.
BUT: Read the article. Yes, the ENTIRE one. If that does not enlarge your perspective, I hope you will never be proven wrong. Cheers.
@gamefreak1000000 You're a gullible idiot, and your children deserve the future you're making for them. I hope they all die young. Do the world a favor and kill yourself.
I know it can be hard to take but we must vote out any Government who supports the AGW CO2 lie. I don't want to vote for the Liberal democrats in my country but I will. They have pledged to remove the Carbon Tax.
“I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is !
Politics has corrupted the scientific community. People can lose reputations and livelihoods even when they're right. Three decades ago, "global cooling" was an alleged issue, but when that nonsense was de-bunked, the opposite claim was made. Global warming is government's propoganda tool to expand their power. What astonishes me the most is that people who claim they can control the weather aren't being ignored and marginalized like holocaust deniers and moon hoaxers.
According to good ol' Al, we now have less than 4.5 years before the earth's surface is scorched to an unbearably hot temperature and rendered uninhabitable. So who's selling ticket to Mars? Is Al building his spaceship arc yet? Why did he buy ocean front property in California a couple of years ago? The oceans are suppose to rise at a catastrophic height, killing millions. Won't that mean his 10 upstairs bathrooms will be flooded for generations to come? Does he have lots of flood insurance?
PEOPLE PEOPLE YOU FORGOT ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING AND THAT IS THAT GLOBAL WORMING AND AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH WAS A FUCKING HOLLYWOOD MOVIE. NOW SINCE WHEN SCIENCE AND HISTORY CAN BE RESEARCHED THROUGH A FUCKING MOVIE. WHICH BY THE WAY GOT AL GORE AN OSCAR. SO WHAT IS THE OSCAR NOW A DAYS CONSIDERED THE SAME AS THE NOBEL PRIZE ? MOVIES ARE FICTION JUST LIKE HIS BULLSHIT ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING! HE WILL NOT DEBATE ANYONE ON THIS SUBJECT IN THE SCIENTIFIC WORLD AND THIS MAKES HIM A CORPORATE FRAUD
@Kraneloran I worked with a meteorologist (w/ 20 years experience). He stated the whole global warming movement is a hoax, and much of their claims are based on computer models that have to use so many assumptions that they're essentially rubbish. Any change in the assumptions produces wild swings in the model predictions.
So we're to believe they can predict GLOBAL temperatures 50, 100 years from now when the same meteorologists you cite can't accurately predict the LOCAL weather next week
@Delphinus72 so true...i just cant believe people are this enept...maybe so since I have seen the smelly ones "occupying" in major states are these same people.sad
@Delphinus72 if meteorologists cant predict local weather one week in advance what makes you think they can predict the climate 50-100 years from now? as Dr. John Christy said "our ignorance of the climate system is enormous and if these alarmists are confident they know how the climate system works, why cant they predict it? our policy makers need to know how enormous our ignorance is
Bravo at 8:40 , I've been saying this for years, flour light is terrible on the eyes, terrrible on what it supposedly illuminates, & expensive hazardous waste,
The Gov removes safe incandescents from consumers and forces consumers to interface daily with that hazardous waste.
I'm sure you could go to prison if you abuse florescent lamps just so....:)
Oooh, LORD Monckton. THIRD Viscount of Brenchley!!! Born into his title and a conservative politician and journalist. Science advisor, huh? He has an MA in Classics. Well that's predictable. Then he got a degree in journalism. I guess that makes him a real expert in science.
Gore knows that this kind of bantering solves nothing and he isn't going to be bothered by a pompous mid-level aristocrat like this. The scientific community is where this debate takes place.
The science community supports Gore and gave him the Nobel prize refuses to correct the GROSS errors in his movie. How come you cannot direct me to Gore's site or in fact any site run by this fraudulent science community where they will correct his gross errors? Key concept is the SOURCE of corrections. If the science community does not care about errors then why should we trust them? All you have to do is direct me to a site other than Moncktons that points out the 30+ gross errors in his move
@Albertkallal Actually had the Nazi's won World War 2 we would be taught that Aryan Blood is both superior and distinguishable, by scientific means, to other types of blood. Also I believe Galileo can attest to the fact that you don't need a lot of people to agree with you in order to be right. The thing that finally convinced me however was the plan to combat "man made Carbon" is not a plan at all. Merely a tax to control people, keep nations underdeveloped, and monopolize areas of industry.
@AzBirdDog See Potholer54's point by point debunking of Monckton. Then decide who's full of shit. Monckton is nothing but arrogance and bluster.
Even this clip's introductory claim that Monckton was a science advisor to Margaret Thatcher is an outright lie. He was never any such thing. Well, who should be surprised? He doesn't even have an undergraduate degree in any science.
The money angle? How about right-wingers deny global warming because regulation costs lots of tax dollars.
@AzBirdDog Yes, it does cost a lot of tax dollars, and my experience has been that right-wingers will oppose anything that might raise their taxes, even if it is a scientific fact like global warming, and even if such a raise in taxes is in response to an escalating global ecological catastrophe that threatens the very existence of life on this planet.
And corporations, in order to avoid regulation, will lie, cheat, and propagandize the whole world. You are one of their successes.
@AzBirdDog 30,000 scientists? Name them. Tell me their fields, and how many work for the energy companies. Why, no matter how many billions of times more money the energy industry may have at stake here, we can all sleep easy knowing that NO self-respecting corporation would even THINK of trying to muddy the waters on a topic this important to our long-term survival, right? No, the corrupted-by-money argument only works one way...
@ApolloWasReal Seriously? If you don't know of the news to sue gore, just so they can get the worm to debate on a LEGAL stage, by over 30,000 scientists?
Then you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
Your arguement to STUPID!
You don't even understand that there's a stage built to fuck you and me and every other person of our money.
@AzBirdDog Scientific issues aren't decided on stages or in courts of law but at scientific conferences and journals where anyone who can pass peer review is welcome to publish.
I know that's a problem for those whose income streams are threatened by scientific facts. So it's perfectly understandable that they would try everything to derail the scientific process and to fool gullible but uneducated people like you into thinking they're on your side.
@AzBirdDog "Defect"? Well, I guess that's a reasonable word to use when you see this as political rather than scientific. But I'm not sure exactly what you expect such scientists to do to "defect" since all their data is openly published anyway. Seems to me that if you have a problem with that data, you don't need the help of any "defectors" to call attention to it. You can do that yourself; just write a paper, submit it and get it reviewed. Note: insults usually don't sway reviewers.
@ApolloWasReal I haven't read a lot of peer-reviewed articles, but in the ones I have read, I have never seen the word "fuck" or political rants in all caps. These amateur "experts" will need someone to write their papers for them.
Hey, maybe they should get Monckton to do it. He's a VERY good writer. He's never written a peer-reviewed paper before, but there's always an opportunity for him to submit his first.
@AzBirdDog I asked once before: can you name those 30,000 scientists and their fields? Obviously you must think that "scientists" know more about this than you do or you wouldn't use that word. So it's quite reasonable to find out if these "scientists" actually exist, and whether they actually work in this field, i.e., whether they actually know what they're talking about. Because it would have been obvious that you don't, even if you hadn't admitted it.
I asked you to explain it. Apparently you don't want to even talk about it, because you know that it would mean that your arguement is based on lies.
You know what ClimateGate is. We all know what it is. Climate Gate proves without a shadow of a doubt, that your so-called scientists LIED about global warming.
@ApolloWasReal It's like when creationists found 800 "scientists" who don't believe in evolution. Close examination showed that all but something like three of them either weren't scientists at all or weren't specialized in any relevant field.
In response to that, some survey found 1200 Scientists who DID believe in evolution and who WERE qualified. What's so special about that? Their poll consisted only of scientists named Steve.
@AzBirdDog It isn't about Gore or Monckton. It is about a massively researched and peer-reviewed subject which has now reached the status of virtual undeniability.
But heck, I spend a lot of my time debunking people who say we never went to the moon. You'd think Apollo was a pretty well-established fact, wouldn't you? And then there are those who deny evolution. They are just a vehement and just as wrong as you are.
@Astrobrant2 Peer reviewed, my ass! Explain this, stupid ass: Climate Gate. Come on, fucktard! Explain it!!!! Explain to all of us how hackers got into your bullshit Global Warming HOAX, and stole emails explaining IN DETAIL of how they doctored your so-called "Peer Reviewed" documentation. lol You're pathetic! Explain ClimateGate!!! Explain it! I'll do it for you, smartass! A hacker stole emails PROVING that your scientists for global warming are LYING!!! There's your "Peer Reviewed"
@AzBirdDog Gee, I'd think someone with the facts solidly on his side wouldn't find the need to resort to insulting language to make his point. Do I detect some insecurity?
@AzBirdDog You don't think the global warming matter has been peer reviewed? And you pretend to be some kind of spokesman for this?
What do you care more about, the survival of your descendants over the next century or a few extra tax dollars out of your pocket, or directed away from big corporate interests or the military budget?
Scientists show REAL AND TRUE numbers that prove global warming is not taking place.
We're talking about real numbers now. Not the doctored numbers that you idiots believe.
Global warming. Prove that it is taking place, because the only real numbers are those with dollar signs from the profits that those scientists who lie, will be getting.
@AzBirdDog Why don't you give us some of those "real and true" numbers that show that global warming isn't taking place? Don't forget to provide the source.
Give us a reference to any peer-reviewed paper from someone who is actually credentialed in this field, which disputes global warming.
Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and believing every conspiracist blog or video you see.
@Astrobrant2 Google: "ClimateGate", Mutha fucker! Why don't you explain this email: "ClimateGate From: Phil Jones To: “Michael E. Mann” Subject: HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL Date: Thu Jul 8 16:30:16 2004 “I can’t see either of these papers being in the next IPCC report. Kevin and I will keep them out somehow – even if we have to redefine what the peer-review literature is ! Cheers Phil”" There's your "Peer Review", fuck head! It's people like you, who believe the "Yes we can" bullshit!
@Astrobrant2 #1: Freeman Dyson-School of Natural Sciences "The biological effects are better known and probably more important than the climatic effects. Sixth, summing up the other five reasons, the climate of the earth is an immensely complicated system and nobody is close to understanding it."
What he means by "Nobody is close to understanding it," Means, Not even Gore. lol
@Astrobrant2 #2: Richard Lindzen- Mass. Institute of Technology, Member of National Academy of Sciences.
"But – and I cannot stress this enough – we are not in a position to confidently attribute past climate change to CO2 or to forecast what the climate will be in the future"
@Astrobrant2 #3: Nils-Axel Morner-Stockholm University, Former Chairman of INQUA.
" In conclusion, observational data do not support the sea level rise scenario. On the contrary, they seriously contradict it. Therefore we should free the world from the condemnation of becoming extensively flooded in the near future."
@AzBirdDog So a single off-hand remark from a guy who specialises in nuclear physics (not climate science) is proof that climate change is wrong? He doesn't even work in that area, his opinion is frankly as good as mine or yours.
"If you were to read anything by any of the scientists mentioned"- You mean like peer-reviewed literature? but he hasn't published any...
@Astrobrant2 It's cold outside. If you support global warming than you are a punk puvvy little bythc. "I have rights, here you go trusted leader.... control my life.... tell me what to do... what to buy and what to believe..."
@AzBirdDog Climategate is explained in great detail in wikipedia, among other places. Google "Climatic Research Unit email controversy wiki".
WHO "got busted"? Tell me. Also tell me what were the findings of five investigations into the matter.
The worst they were accused of was not being as open as they should be. But with constant harassment from brainwashed, scientifically illiterate, right wing political hacks like you, who can blame them?
@Astrobrant2 What Science degree does gore have? He majored in Government. His business ventures depend on there being Global Warming. He is a Fraud and needs to be shown as one.
@viewer1964 Gore doesn't have a science degree. At least he doesn't deliberately deceive people, (like Monckton does), about his scientific background or credentials.
This is not a Gore thing. You are doing as creationists do by trying to make all of evolutionary science a "God vs Darwin" thing. Virtually EVERY serious, thorough, top level study, from several nationalities, agrees that global warming is real, it is caused mostly by fossil fuels, and it poses global disaster.
@Astrobrant2 Which is a bunch of bullshit if you look at the actual science. Humans only pump out about 3% of the worlds carbon emmissions. The rest is caused naturally by things like forest fires, volcanos etc...Humans are not the problem and this fact alone proves it.
@tehgrunt3 You have NO idea what you're talking about, and neither does Monckton. You might find it educational to watch PotHoler54's videos about this creep.

Would Moncton debate a climate scientist about classic literature? That is why real, working paleoclimate scientists won't debate with Moncton. Moncton is dishonest, misleading, cherry picks, misquotes and then misunderstands the climate science. I would love to see him in a written debate against a qualified paleoclimate scientist.
christo930 1 week ago
@christo930 Monckton not asking for debate about literature. Your amazing stupid here since Monckton is asking for a debate with Gore. Are you stupid to think that Al Gore is a paleoclimiate scientist? So based on your OWN logic put forth then in place of debating a scientist Monckton should debate people like Gore who is not a scientist yet it is Gore who refuses to debate? Your logic defies reason and just why does Gore refuse debate and more stupid since when is Gore a scientist?
Albertkallal 1 week ago
@Albertkallal You don't understand my point. Moncton's speciality, what his degree is in, is classic literature. So I said that Moncton wouldn't want to have a debate with someone who isn't an expert in classic literature, just like a professional climate scientist doesn't want to debate a non climate scientist ;like Monkton. Monckton said, in this video, that professional paleoclimate scientists won't debate him, I explained why. I am not defending Al Gore, who is a politician, not a scientist.
christo930 1 week ago
Monckton is terrific debater and enjoys debating any subject the person has knowledge of. You presented zero evidence of whom he would debate. You're so called "science community" continues to have Al Gore speak and voted to given him the Nobel Prize when they at the same time refuse to correct all the errors in his movie that they supported. Until that science community removes their support of Gore or corrects errors in that movie you have a real problem of credibility here
Albertkallal 1 week ago
@Albertkallal I seriously doubt that Moncton would have a written debate with anyone. He just tried to have a written debate with potholer54 on wattsupwiththat and got his ass handed to him. You don't get how lopsided a verbal debate is, with a real scientist who has a reputation and credentials and has to be extremely cautious in what they say, whereas Monckton doesn't have any of those worries and can say anything he wants, now matter how wrong he is. In a written debate he would be destroyed

Vierotchka 2 weeks ago

Climategate,

A growing body of evidence clearly shows [2008] that hydroclimatic variability
during the putative MWP (more appropriately and inclusively called the
“Medieval Climate Anomaly” or MCA period) was more regionally extreme (mainly
in terms of the frequency and duration of megadroughts) than anything we have
seen in the 20th century, except perhaps for the Sahel. So in certain ways the
MCA period may have been more climatically extreme than in modern times.

Calling Gore names and belittleing the scientific community in general isn't reasuring to me that Lord Monkey has any professional credibility
bryanttillman 2 months ago
You are making an act of faith to accept those authorities who are wearing those white smocks (or perhaps purple ones?). You not done the science and thus you listen to those who can bear witness and testimony for you. Those scientists gave authority and credibility to Gore and endorsed science in his movie. Monckton pointed out 30+ gross science errors in that movie. Until that SAME science group corrects Gore's errors then why accept their testimony on an act faith as you are?
Albertkallal 2 months ago
@Albertkallal ...You're saying it's Lord Monkey's word over Al Gore's? I choose Gore.
bryanttillman 2 months ago
You are asking us here to accept the witness and testimony of the science community which banded together to give Gore the Nobel prize. Why accept their witness and testimony when they refuse to correct Gore's gross science errors? Without peer review and no correcting of bad science then why accept their testimony and why do I have to go to Moncton to find these errors? Until you direct me to your scientists that care to correct those errors then your position is without merit
Albertkallal 2 months ago
@Albertkallal ...because you got the whole thing backwards. Listen to the Monkey, he's belittleing David Suzuki as well. an EMINENT scientist who has been on top of the data for years. It's GORE who's data IS PEER REVIEWED, not Lord Monkey. That's why the Monkey is "outside" the debate, looking in, challenging people to debates that aren't required. He's trying to get Gore down in the gutter where he is. The-Science Is IN! All Lord Monkey is interested in is prolonging the debate.
bryanttillman 2 months ago
If you read climate gate emails you see that there is a cabal of "pal" review and that they prevented others from receiving peer review. If science used in Gore's movie is peer reviewed then how come they not corrected the errors and how come you cannot direct me to sites that shows those corrections from that same peer review community? Until you show me those corrections then such peer review is worthless. Why trust people who ignore truth and refuse to correct their errors?
Albertkallal 2 months ago
@bryanttillman Do you know why won't Gore debate if he's right? I really don't know who's right about GW. I'm just trying to get answers.
herbal1971 2 months ago
@herbal1971 I can only give my personal answer. I noticed that Lord Monkey was making religeous appeals for people to remain stupid. If the "righties" can't have your complicit understanding, then they'll settle for your fear, by way of your ignorance. You want to know whether Gore is telling the truth, then do the numbers yourself. Go to your local library and crack a book. Ask for "peer reviewed" technical material. Stay away from easy-to-read magazines, that can be compromised.
bryanttillman 2 months ago
@bryanttillman I totally agree with what you say about reading peer reviewed material (as much as science can be impartial) but I'd really like to know why Gore won't debate. I suppose we could ask him but it doesn't look like he'd answer about why he won't debate. :)
I'm not saying I believe Lord Monckton but at least he's offering to debate. I don't know what his game is but it seems no more sinister than Gore's.
herbal1971 2 months ago
@herbal1971 What you got to remember about minor nobility, Like Lord Monkey, is that they are a bit daft, from all the inbreeding, and they could go off at any moment, about anything. In the time it took me to type this, Monkey chatted on comparing Gore to Nazis, accused the left of cowardice, of "bed-wetting", of disingenuity, etc. There comes a point when talk must give way to action. Gore is trying to do something. I don't know what Monkey's intentions are.
bryanttillman 2 months ago
Gore gang uses fear mongering and in fact Monckton is the one posting 30+ corrections to their bad science in Gore's movie. You play straw man of religion when it is science community refusing to correct own errors! You say accept Gore on an act of faith. You not done experiments so you can only go read the testimony of others in some book who bear witness to that event. This means you making an act of faith and accept their testimony without their willingness to correct errors?
Albertkallal 2 months ago
@Albertkallal All right, all right....I don't want to be the asshole, here. Tell you what, let me see these 30+ "corrections" first. Gimme the link and I'll look at it. But I'm going to tell you right now that even *I* don't consider Gore THEE authoritive wittness on the matter, he is NOT a scientist...and this matter requires a PROFESSIONAL presentation, so I would recommend that the one party you need to discuss this with would be little other than a scientist, like David Suzuki. Fair 'Nuff?

Start a car in a closed garage, wait 5 minutes, and then let's see if you think that burning fossil fuels isn't harming our atmosphere.
ndrthrdr1 2 months ago
You can drown in pool of water just as easy as pumping co2 into a closed garage. The idea that this stupid logic shows that water or co2 is a pollutant is so stupid as to show you have a mind of a 5 year old in terms of logic. Lead in gas or sulfur dioxins is pollution. Through the marvel of Photosynthesis CO2 gives much of the bulk and food value of say your potato. Without co2 then digging up potatoes would leave a huge hole in the soil if that was the result of food value in potato

Only logical conclusion here is that man's co2 Is simply not driving temperatures as claimed by these clowns.

Going by your guess, I'm assuming you're a dumbass libtard atheist?
gamefreak1000000 2 months ago
@gamefreak1000000 Without specific citations of your claims which we can verify ourselves, your claims can simply be ignored by those of us who understand the nature of empirical evidence.
How would an environmentally responsible person killing himself make sense? Killing a polluter, on the other hand ...
.

@ndrthrdr1 You're exhaling, right? Exhaling co2 in the air is considered polluting, correct? Shouldn't you kill yourself for putting soo much c02 in the air?

Cheers.

KnowHowDOCTOR 5 months ago
@Kraneloran I worked with a meteorologist (w/ 20 years experience). He stated the whole global warming movement is a hoax, and much of their claims are based on computer models that have to use so many assumptions that they're essentially rubbish. Any change in the assumptions produces wild swings in the model predictions.
So we're to believe they can predict GLOBAL temperatures 50, 100 years from now when the same meteorologists you cite can't accurately predict the LOCAL weather next week

AzBirdDog 3 months ago
@AzBirdDog Yes, it does cost a lot of tax dollars, and my experience has been that right-wingers will oppose anything that might raise their taxes, even if it is a scientific fact like global warming, and even if such a raise in taxes is in response to an escalating global ecological catastrophe that threatens the very existence of life on this planet.
And corporations, in order to avoid regulation, will lie, cheat, and propagandize the whole world. You are one of their successes.

ApolloWasReal 3 months ago
@ApolloWasReal The TRUTH in decided in courts of law.
And this is where it gets really good!
Because there will be a day that a group of scientists will defect from the Gore hoax.

Did you know that some officials at the UN even went as far as to doctor the recorded temperatures, to show that global warming is real. lol
The gullible fools are idiots like you. Who hear a person speak, and without research, you accept it as fact. lol
AzBirdDog 3 months ago
@AzBirdDog "Defect"? Well, I guess that's a reasonable word to use when you see this as political rather than scientific. But I'm not sure exactly what you expect such scientists to do to "defect" since all their data is openly published anyway. Seems to me that if you have a problem with that data, you don't need the help of any "defectors" to call attention to it. You can do that yourself; just write a paper, submit it and get it reviewed. Note: insults usually don't sway reviewers.
ApolloWasReal 3 months ago
@ApolloWasReal I haven't read a lot of peer-reviewed articles, but in the ones I have read, I have never seen the word "fuck" or political rants in all caps. These amateur "experts" will need someone to write their papers for them.
Hey, maybe they should get Monckton to do it. He's a VERY good writer. He's never written a peer-reviewed paper before, but there's always an opportunity for him to submit his first.
Astrobrant2 3 months ago
@AzBirdDog I asked once before: can you name those 30,000 scientists and their fields? Obviously you must think that "scientists" know more about this than you do or you wouldn't use that word. So it's quite reasonable to find out if these "scientists" actually exist, and whether they actually work in this field, i.e., whether they actually know what they're talking about. Because it would have been obvious that you don't, even if you hadn't admitted it.
ApolloWasReal 3 months ago

But you still accept it as true science. lol
