@RhapsodyAnCold I thought the "what" was Loki's realization that he was going to get sucked into his own plot. His original intention was to set up Thor and watch the chaos safely from Asgard. When Thor assumes that Loki will join him, Loki realizes that he's going to have to have to incur the wrath of his father as well (though to as lesser extent, obviously). Don't get me wrong, I love Loki. And I like your interpretation better but it wasn't how I saw it

This should have been included, without a doubt. It gives such a depth to the characters that the audience is cheated out of, since it's not included in the final cut. Psst, one again, bad call. That, and the pre-coronation scene, do far more to develop the story and the Thor/Loki dynamic and relationship than the running "Thor getting knocked out by a 'puny weapon' meme" in the movie.

I'm a little disappointed this scene didn't make it in - you can see a lot of the characters in it. For example, while Loki let in the giants as a trick earlier, this seems to be the point where he actively starts plotting against Thor - as soon as Thor takes the bait about defying Odin he clearly goes into a very deep state of thought.

Plus, it looks like Thor was the one that gave him the idea about getting the glory. Hmm.

When I watched this movie, I totally fell in love with Loki because of how well he showed the feelings and placement of a younger sibling. Especially as one who does not get to be in the centre, and when wanting the, as you said, acceptance and approval of the older part. I am an older sister, and the story of Loki just cuts me in the heart.

Yeah they should have put this whole scene in. They skrimpt on time and lost a lot of the whole mythology of Norse God edicate ; the "identity of Thor and Asgardians" you see in the anime and comics leaving it out. Most new fans could take only so much though so I see why the editing was eventually the call for theatre versions.
