So full of promise, it's a shame that it took untill it's last breath and Skyward Sword to fully realise it's potential :(.
Bring on Wii U with Starfox, F-Zero, Metroid, Waverace, Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, Luigi's Mansion ect, with good Third Party Support all in full 1080p HD / 60 FPS, a good Online system and Graphics that blow the PS3 / 360 away ! :).
I'll bet the original Wii remote had a gyroscope, but sometime before launch, the head of Nintendo thought, "No, let's release that as a separate peripheral sometime down the road."
And thus, we were given a controller with a lousy accelerometer to do all of this. It just wasn't possible, and the hardcore gamer was DOOMED!
buttons x y changed to 1 2, power botton rounded, damn this consoles is 6 years old now!!! lol at the woman playing mario, that would be pretty messy to move the controller every time mario jumps
@whorelix This is a prototype of the controler. You'll notice several things are different, the x and y buttons are shown here but was later changed into 1 and 2. Also, what you are calling wii motion plus is really just a larger connector for the nunchuck
they changed the name to wii because they wanted to have something more international, something that people would be able to say easily, no matter what country they come from. I do though, agree that Revolution was a kick ass name.
i remember watching this when it first came out and wasnt quite sure what to make of it...on one hand it was "what? motion controls? seriously? what happened to the traditional way of playing games?" but on the other hand it was "holy effing crap this is gonna be epic!" lol
they didnt even have to show any game footage, the people playing the games (with sound effects from games) was enough to let everyone know just what was going on...and to let the imagination and speculation begin lol
when i first saw this video in 2005 im like holy crap this looks frigin amazing but if only i knew that most of the games for wii would end up looking like the clip at 1:12
The whole controller looks alot different. Instead of 1 and 2 they have X and Y and the power button is ugly. They also have no speaker. And the numchuck buttons are C and Z and not Z1 and Z2.
This wasn't shown at E3 2005, this trailer comes from the Tokyo Game Show which took place in September of that year, they didn't reveal anything other than a black prototype of the actual console at E3.
These asian girls look pretty =)

Eneru89 4 months ago
The biggest give away that it was not going to be 1:1 motion at all is the fact that they show absolutely no gameplay in this.

I think Revolution is an awesome name prior to it's release and name change. They should've stick with the name Revolution instead of the Wii.
