  • Да здравствует Россия!

  • I cannot believe I found this! I remember watching this in second grade! Thank you so much for posting it!

  • Japanese music was few times better!

  • My sisters would always watch this film. I personally really didn't care, but I did find one thing particularly funny. When the tsunami approaches the poachers ship, one of the sailors decides to hide in a cage. WTF was he thinking? 1:11:40

  • i remeber watchin this with my mom before i got took away from her when i was 4 afterward my brother was devistated and he got druged now hes in jail. My first anime brings back memories

  • God does this bring back memories. Thank you so very much for posting it.

  • I LOVED this movie as a kid and now my Niece and nephew love it.

  • According to this being a Japanese/Soviet movie, besides Cowboy being a Japanese Spitz, he's also got some Siberian Husky in him, all because Siberia is in Russia. That actually does make sense. Half Spitz/ half Husky.

  • I never knew it myself before when I was a kid, but I found it kinda fascinating to know that the movie was half Japanese/half Soviet. The sailors and scientists that were Russian, and the dog Cowboy being a Japanese Spitz. Good to know. I had almost forgotten that there were Japanese Spitz.

  • My most favorite childhood film!! Thank you so much for uploading!!!!

  • love this movie still!!!!

  • 1 person did not grow up with an awesome childhood. Seriously though, this was one of my favorite movies in the early 90's. Thanks for uploading it!

  • @StarDr0ps make that 2 people

  • Guess you could say this was my first anime.

  • I LOVE IT!

  • thank you, thank you for uploading this!!!! I've been looking for it for such a long time! It reminds me of my childhood.

  • Penguins live in Antarctica and not Arctic xD

  • I wonder if Louie ever made it back to his own family?

  • omg thank thank thank you for posting this movie!!! this is one of my fav child hood movies of all times!!!!

  • I loved this movie when I was a kid!!! Still do! I <3 Cowboy :)

  • Thank you for uploading this in english! I haven't seen this in 10 years.

    :D

  • We have this in dutch. But the songs were not added. Not even instrumental.

  • Finally a version in English again! Oh m an I watched this ALL the time as a kid and drove my mother crazy with it.

  • @TheBookWorm1718 lol, same here. My mom tried to hide it from me!

  • I've always loved Louie!

  • Haha, whenever I watched this movie as a kid, I used to make my mom hold snacks between her chin and shoulder and give them to me that way. Since that was where I thought the penguin mothers were holding the food...I didn't realize then that they puke it up.

  • @8x13Wolf Ha ha ha! yeah I didn't get that either, I couldn't figure out HOW Scamper was getting fed because it just seemed to me he pecked at his mother's chest or her neck or something.

  • russian version is better

  • @theholyrussian no it isn't :/

  • @RJfan It's hard to say. So much is changed that they're practically two seperate movies.

  • @8x13Wolf yeah, but I grew up with the american version. I only saw the ending of the russian version, and it horrified me. leave it to the russkies to include blood and graphic death in what they consider children's movie.

  • @RJfan "Russkie" and Japanese, actually. Under your logic, The Lion King and Watership Down are terrible, horrifying movies...this is actually fairly tame, as all the penguins who die do so underwater and out of sight.

I grew up with the american version of Scamper and I love it to death. But I'd suggest watching more of the Russian version than just the graphic ending -- there are a lot of extra scenes, tidbits that add to the plot, and the musical score is downright beautiful.

  • @8x13Wolf TLK never actually showed Mufasa hitting the ground, the russian STP version showed several penguins getting shot. one in the head. that's what shocked me. plus, I'm naturally distrusting of russians since I was born at the end of the cold war, and just about every action movie I watched showed the russians as the enemy. I never watched watership down, IMO children's movies just shouldn't have blood in it. the only exception I make is Don Bluth films. his films were classics

  • @RJfan Well, I was also born at the tail end of the cold war (for that matter, so was the movie), but I don't see what that has to do with the story...it's not as though the penguins are flying soviet flags or pushing hidden soviet ideals.

You'll forgive me if I question the logic in showing a character's dead, unmarked body and having that be alright, but add a little blood or show blood on the water and it's suddenly too much.

  • @8x13Wolf it was just a shock, tho. I had already read that Scamper's father was killed in the original, but I never expected to see penguins shot in the head, is the point I'm trying to make.

  • @RJfan Yeah, I read that too, and I saw that part and I was shocked too. I completely agree with you. Its was tough for me, because Gilbert was my favorite adult parent, and he was the leader...seeing him shot in the head after all these years since I have grown up with the American version, it was hard to take.

  • @DDRPenguins72 too bad louie couldnt stay. :(

  • @MrKhalil9 Yeah, most of my friends who I showed this too liked Louie alot. Its a shame he came late in the movie and also left Scamper at the conclusion.

  • @MrKhalil9 But hey, if you havent seen your Mom and Dad and friends in a while, most would feel the same way like Louie to find their family and friends just like Scamper and Snowflake did.

  • I used to watch this movie all the time and I still love it to death!!! I've only met one other person who has heard of Scamper. Everyone I ask just looks at me like I'm crazy! Thanks for posting this :)

  • Lunarvx22 how can I ever thank you. This movie bring back so many memories.
