I disagree with the opinion that Chinese people are respectful.
I lived in Hong Kong all my life. The mainland Chinese that come down here are mostly from the Guangdong Province. Guess where most of the crimes and dirt come from? Them.
Even local Hong Kong people themselves are degrading; inconsiderate, rude and look down upon others.
The Chinese I met around Shanghai are so much different. Mao's Chinese and Jiang's Chinese are worlds apart...

Hey, both the Chinese and the Japanese are really nationalistic. The Chinese refused to build a building with a hole in it because it reminds them of the Japanese flag.
And don't forget that in the 2002 world cup China refused to play any game in Japan, so they had to put it in a group whose games were played in South Korea.
Actually, I think I DO know a few things about patriotism:
1. It's all about serving your country when they need you the most.
2. It's all about making the right vote for the right Presidential candidate that will resolve your country's economic, social, and energy crisis.
3. It's all about doing everything that you possibly can to make sure that your country does well in the international arena(in sports, in academics, in everything).
knowing all that then why did u fail to see that the people would have pride in listening to their own anthem no matter how "depressing" it may sound thats just your view on that anthem some people consider it a very patriotic tune
