Australia is making an extremely good bionic eye, It works with just a pair of glasses and a Microchip conectic to the back of the eye that send signals to the brain with highly detailed vision.

I'm wondering how old this clip is. As I've just seen a bunch of other clips that seem to indict that the proses of making a proper bionic eye is much further along. Also the 3 - 4 other videos I've seen seem to have a very different system. They stimulate the optic verve behind the eye, not implanting stuff in the brain.
