This is a great idea! I mean, just look at Europe. The quality of living will improve. More people will walk in Manhattan = more customers = more stores. Downtown will be much greener. And of course much safer.
Mayor Bloomberg and NYCDOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan are heroes for this. NYC has set the example for the nation; now lets see some other cities follow suit. I'd like to see something similar on Market Street in San Francisco, and Broadway in Los Angeles.

Thanks for the bike lanes, but wish pedestrians would stay out of the bike lanes. The merging of both parties is not working.
