If he is close enough, you will die :-)

If he is outside of the water, usual kill zone is 1m-2m

you wouldn't hear them very well and your more than likely to get water in your ears, tough call.

@arkalauz bullets usually shatter, and dont dig that deep into water if they're being shot. the more powerful the gun, the less penetration the bullet will have. I believe most guns wont go past 9 feet before the bullet breaks apart, so if your 10 feet or so under, you should be fine :)
