  • at 2:13 this girl looks like "Hey, where are you going?" :)

  • she's very poetic

  • When I first heard this song there was no going back ...still one of my faves.

  • One of my favorite songs of Sarah's. This video makes it that much better.

  • Does anyone know who directed the video?

  • I don't think she has ever topped this song.

  • Wow...is all I can say ...great Canadian artist / songwriter !!!!

  • evidently she likes to act in a clip almost naked just covering her pretty things :)

  • this laday sung

  • I love Sarah, and she's certainly amazing in this video, but I'd also like to send my props out to the dancers in this video. They do a wonderful job of interpreting Sarah's music and to this date I think this is the video that captures one of Sarah's songs the best.

  • @shebird1 The dancers are Learie Nichols and Sylvie Bouchard. They were a couple in 'real life' as well for many years. My mom worked at Toronto Dance Theatre in the 80's, and Sylvie and Learie were dancers there. :)

  • Youthful godess, pure magic.

  • the first song I had heard by Sarah was Adia. And from the first note to the last, when I heard her voice, I fell inlove lol. And from her old to her new material, I love her even more now days, now that her beautiful music has meaning to me. Thank you for being a beacon in my dark mind, thank you for posting this beautiful work of art.

  • this is one of my favorite songs by her

  • i actually really lik this song

  • What a beautiful woman, and what an amazing artist.

  • Amazing, ive never seen this before. Thank you!

  • what i've noticed is that her music is more upbeat now, when compared to her first three albums, not to say her music brings me down, but i love it more when i'm feeling low.

  • awesome perfect

  • one of my favorites...and this vid reminds me how much i liked her hair....

  • a beautiful emotionally powerful song. thank you sarah!

  • After that album she lost the write who had matched the music with her.... The main guy who was responsible for most of the songs

although there has been a few post that arnt too bad

  • i like sarah

  • Thanks for sharing this !

Oldie bit goodie, I think her voice has become much better and mature but her newer stuff is lacking but I still buy it cause she is awesome regardless.

When an artist gets older and has a family the work suffers.

  • The work suffers? I refer you to Kate Bush's 2005 Aerial; I don't think so! (but I know what you mean, in most cases....)

  • Surfacing was the first Sarah McLachlan album I had heard and at the point she wrote that music she still hadn't been quite mainstream yet so I think it's still a strong album. I heard Fumbling later and admit I like it a bit better but both of those offerings were strong. I think perhaps your animosity for Surfacing is that it's a bit overplayed. Her latest albums haven't been as strong, though I can't quite pinpoint where they go wrong. She still has a fabulous voice though.

  • just perfect.

  • excllent !

  • I'm not really sure how the video relates to the song, but she IS naked. Beautiful song, tho.

  • Are you a dancer?

  • so tell us what you really think......

  • Melancoly yes, but such sweetness!

I was lucky to see Sarah at the Bridge School benefit. Norah Jones also performed. It was a dream come true!

  • This is the first song I ever heard by Sarah, and I was hooked instantly. She still moves me all these years later.

  • This song reminds me of springtime, I don´t know why¿¿???? I think the catch on Sarah is that there´s so much feeling and emotion in her voice......beautiful!!!

  • sarah is many things to many people, to me, simply, while an adolescent, she represented the aesthetics I believed all artists should possess, then, as I got older it seemed i would forsake her music every so often, and, surprise, when in emotional turmoil, she comes back to apeace and comfort. In few, I still can't quite put my finger on it

  • i agree, lot of people say she is depressing but i find her a comfort in 'emotional times' she is beautiful and a wonderful singer. i can't put my finger on it either.

  • dito

  • Old school Sarah was in my opinion the best Sarah.

  • amen

  • yeah, she was so raw and real then, busking on the streets of vancouver, lol, when she came out west.

  • Guy's really should listen to the lyrics to figure out how their relationship ended. And then think about it for awhile.

  • Is the woman dancing also her back up singer?

  • no, her backup singer at this time was Camille Henderson and that's not her. The dancers also appeared in her music video for "Hold On."

  • Out of sync!!!!!!! Great song tho....

  • yeah, it's youtube. i used to have her home vid with this clip, and the sync was near perfect.

  • omg Sarah is soOoo hot..

  • this was the firt Sarah McLachlan song I ever can upon, in that moment it was love at first sound.

  • I think it's a matter of the audio & video not syncing up. Sometimes it happens on Youtube.

  • lol, yes she will

  • how old was she?

  • Such a great song.

  • I love you, Sarah!

  • this is so weird

  • This was my first time seeing the video for one of my favorite songs... I was disappointed by the imageray chosen, but the fact that she is wearing just about nothing almost more than makes up for it... Stunning...

  • Sarah could sing forlorn to me ANY day.
