@KLguy133 She's been singing for 37 years - her career began at a very young age, then as she grew older her vocal chords matured to a less operatic, lovely sound. Her Tour in 1998-1999 would obviously take a tole on her voice and mean that she would need a rest. She did that, but then took residance in Vegas for 5 years, 5 shows every week and then after that, another world tour. Her voice would mature with age, you can't expect her to sound the same. She still sounds pretty great to me.

For all of you who don't know this but admire her hit off Unison--there are others-'Have a Heart' is also great on it, but Celine heard her cab driver sing this song verbatim on the radio when the Unison album first came out. She told her interviewer that she was too shy to tell him that it was her. How humble is that after 8 or 9 platinum or gold albums in the Francophone world? She was already a star. I love Celine. Don't care about octave range. Her range as a person is ultraprima!

It's amazing how she really is a love her or hate her artist, doesn't seem to be any middle ground with her, I think she is sometimes amazing and sometimes awful, sometimes there is a tendancy to screatch a bit too much where she doesn't need to, then you hear 'The first time ever i saw your face' and realise she has the most beautiful voice.
