Controversial or not,Its the Great sound from a very versitile band that should be celebrated and enjoyed. I burned out my 8 track with these tunes. So many songs were banned from radio play in the 60s or the album art from stores.Such as Blind Faith first issue of a nude girl on cover,Brewer and Shipley One Toke Over The Line. The list goes on and on. I have 3 LPs of Crow. Thanks Sammy for the vintage flashback.
Excellent video-presentation to a great top-40 song. It's odd that some people like what others dislike about the same music. Oh, well ... that's what makes life interesting.
The brass was in the original ...at least it was in the version that I remember . I think I heard that it was Walter , James and Lee of Chicago . It sort of sounds like them ...........
The contraversy was for the time: multiple sex partners, baby out of wedlock, etc. Very indicative of the times. Now, it is the norm. Thanks for the comment.
Note to torrentANONYMOUScodc: I was never aware that there was a version without horns...
Though the original vinyl LP I once had - kept the horns on one speaker channel , with the rest of the instrumentation on the other speaker channel...
Actually, you can turn the right channel off on your speaker system (if ya got that as opposed to headphones) and the song will be horn-free...
In any case, this is one of my ALL-TIME UBER-MEGA-ULTRA RAVE-FAVES!...EVER!
This could pass for many of the horn based bands of the era.BS&T,CHICAGO ETC.Though a much different subject matter.

Crow never got the airplay they deserved. I wish someone would release their original LPs on cd or for downloading.

i Have the idea that Black Sabbath's manager said "WE NEED A SINGLE!!!"
And they decided to do this one.

This is the version I heard on AM radio - with the brass. 'Time to Make a Turn" was also a radio hit in our area.

I am very happy to know that the original is so good. This only proves that the Sabbath, in the few covers that did was brilliant.
