  • How could one person dislike this beautiful peace.

  • Well done!

  • And sing it very nice, thank you great memories beech sing songs in Dublin long time ago.

    Thanks for bringing me back

  • Love this song. Love the way you sing it. ...Bill

  • nice performance dude.

  • This is really nice

  • Dude, the computer I am using has 30,000 songs on it.

Still, every morning for the last week I have put this on.

Best compliment I can pay you.

  • where can I find tabs for this song on the internet? not only the cords.. also the picking?

    thanks

  • Wonderful. Thanks

  • nice job mate.great talent.

  • another great recording! i wonder if you appear in public "live"? wishing you all the best from a cold and stormy sweden, göteborg on the west coast. take care of yourself!

  • Hello there from Brighton, England!

Just broke up with my girlfriend and really needed to hear this song. Found yourself as well as Mr Paxton on YouTube.

You do a great song great justice. Great guitar and a great voice. I wish you all the best. I think to sing this song properly you need to have had your heart broken. "As I lie in my bed in the morning / Without you, without you".

    Thankyou, sir.

    Chris

  • a pleasant surprise. would love to hear some john prine, perhaps lake marie! keep up the good work.

  • I really like your rendition of this song. It makes me feel good to hear the way you sing it. That song used to make me feel melancholy when I heard it years ago. I hope you are not feeling that way. I like your upbeat ending.

  • This is one of my favorite songs and you do a great job with it.

  • I enjoyed your performance of this classic Paxton song. You made it all yours!

  • Waltzing through your videos is like going through my vinyl record collection (those were before CD's)and takes me back to a coffee house atmosphere... So, when are we going to hear originals coming out of you??

  • Whenever I manage to finish any... I get extreme cases of writer's block about ten minutes after starting.

  • Kiro, great job. Just about the style I would sing this song.

But perhaps you could end the song on a lower, lingering note to make it sound more sad? Just thinking.

  • Tom has sung it both ways ("The Compleat Tom Paxton" and "Live: For the Record" juxtaposing those two options), and I tend to sing it either way as well, depending on my fancy at the particular moment.

  • I think robmills789 said it best. It is cool to hear someone your age singing this kind of music...it's great old stuff! As for your voice and version...I thought both were great. Would'nt be surprised to find myself buying a CD of yours one day. Keep it up!!

  • Darn good! Your voice reminds me of Phil Ochs, yet very original. Do you do any Ochs songs? It's refreshing to hear a young voice doing this stuff. Nicely done!

  • I do lots of Ochs stuff! Some of them aren't that good (Small Circle of Friends, I'm Going to Say It Now), but I think you can find those plus Marchin', Changes, Power & Glory, When I'm Gone, and There But For Fortune. I'm finally going to take the plunge into his later stuff, so some of those will probably be added in the next few weeks, also.

  • This is a folk classic and you do a nice version.

  • Kirobaito, you do have a special voice. Your interpretation of Tom Paxton's songs, guitar and voice, are on a level above all others I've heard. as i said on your Rambling Boy site, you got me back into Tom Paxton, and i thank you for it.

  • Quite good.

Tom Paxton said it was his best song and I agree with him.

  • What a beautiful version! I don't suppose you have the tab anywhere, do you?

  • The chords can be found on any number of web sites - the actual tablature, I just kind of figure it out myself and do it. It's not written anywhere.

  • Wow! I was jsut playing along with your version as your replying to my comment! Wonderful!

So, basically, G-C-D and so on...

  • As a fan of Tom Paxton since the 1960s it's really cool that a young guy like you is still singing and playing his songs. Singing and playing them really well too. You have a lovely voice. Keep wondering how old you are - which is kinda ageist of me i guess! You have talent - i truly hope you get the recognition you deserve! :)

  • I turned 19 in May. Thank you for the kind words.

  • excellent! extremely well done on several levels. I found myself wondering if you used a steel string guitar with nylon strings?

  • Nope, I use steel strings.

  • lovely singing, but could have been better if you showed the fretboard, because the plucking was great.

  • Nice job! You have a great voice.

  • very nice : )

  • Excellent!

  • I love singing this song, I'm glad you like it, too. You do a fine job.

  • Good to hear some new songs. I continue to be envious of your playing and singing. Fantastic job!

  • outstanding guitar playing -- and singing. i'd love to know how you get such crisp audio in your videos, too.

  • You can see on the left side of the screen the microphone I use to record. It's the standard Logitech USB mic.

    Casey

  • great job man

  • Glad you're back, Kiro!

  • lovely! paxton would be proud, your picking and vocal make his song sound real good.

in future videos, how about showing more of your left hand?

    keep on playin'!

  • yes... show MORE of chord changing

it'd be great lessons for guitar students
