Have people not learned yet a Pull or tug of war like this is all based on the weight of the truck and the traction. if one truck has a 572 BBC in it (single cab short wheel base) with almost slick tires vs a 350 chevy ext cab lwb with new tires guess whos gonna win. the 350 chevy. these tugs show nothing of power. Its all about weight and traction.
In my openion, I see this kind of test do not prove anything. As if someone push the gas before the other, that will give the car more power to pull the other one.
Also the tires (kind, brand, air presser, temprature,..etc), the drivers( wighet, expert,..etc), the motor (oil,temp, health,..etc,.),
So I guess the better is to be done, by giving each car the same tests( each alone, and with the same driver) to be sure from result.

it all comes down to traction, you can run 2 different trucks with same amount of power and have open rearends one will win due to better tires and knowing how to handle the throttle to pull in a win.

Are these trucks stock. There is zero info on HP,axle ratios,truck size as in 1500,2500 etc.. A closer video to see more of the trucks would help. Good video anyway.

@themaytagrepairman They are still using the 6 Cylinder Cummins Turbodiesel. The 8 Cylinder has been tossed around for awhile now, but I don't think they have a definite use for it yet.

@bucknut0256 Where i worked we had 2 trucks with the CAT and 2 with the Cummins. the ones with the cat were always going to cat to see the dr. cuz always having problems with different stuff and the cat guys suck never knew anything and they would always be down. the cummins the biggest problem we ever had was it would get hot and that was just from dirt and dust in the radiator we would take a hose and blow thru the radiator with motor reved to suck it thru and she would be great again...

@bucknut0256 Damn, that's a shame. There was a time a CAT diesel was top dog. I'm 53years old and when i was young, a CAT diesel was "The" diesel engine. Personally, I like the Cummins diesel, they just made them too damn quiet.
