actually this is the second gulf war, I know, I've been in both, and sometime you have to do something until it is finished, we pulled out early last time. If we did not respond to 9/11 we would have been attacked again, if we start taking out terrorist, known terrorist before they hit us, we don't get hit, it's quite simple actually.

I don't know about US law, but under international law it is illegal because it was waged on a fabricated premise. For example, because the CIA and other intelligence agencies created fake reports and warnings over WMD and Alquida and used them as the justification for an invasion it is illegal. IF Bush had declared war in on the grounds of democracy alone it would have been "mostly" legal.

1) That would only be grounds for war if the UNSC approved it (As a signatory to the resolution the US is bound only to act against non compliance with the agreement of the other signatories).

2) None of the resolutions that he failed to comply with provided grounds for an invasion.

3) Bush specifically laid down the grounds for war as being WMD and terrorism, but those grounds were fabricated, making the war illegal.

You've got it the wrong way round. It's not the war itself that is illegal, its the reason for the war.

There could b a million legal reasons to go to war, but if yo choose to fabricate a reason then the war is illegal, regardless of anything else.

As for balls, well, let's just say that Congress wouldn't have had the balls either if they were asked to go to war over the resolutions alone. It took a fabricated threat to get them moving.
