Kultowy John Porter !!! 'Helicopters' to byla dla mnie mega rewelacja z 1980 roku. Wychowalem sie na tej plycie, pierwsza zatrzeszczala sie na smierc i musialem kupic nowa.

In fact, the material for Helicopters had been already played by Porter

Band in 1979. Next and the last LP by Porter Band was issued

in 1981 or 82 and sounded like punk. Afterwards Porter performed

shortly solo. He went through some hardships as a foreign rockman in times

of political turmoil. But, as a though guy, he survived. As far as I can remember

he took shelter in buddhist sanga in Falenica.

John Porter is Welsh musician who decided to live in Poland in late 70'ties. Recorded best Polish rock album of the 80'ties. Still lives in Poland (best place to be...) and plays importand (in the third line thou) role in local show business. Life partner of Polish singer Anita Lipnicka.
