I was kidnapped in La Ceiba in a broad day light and taken to a shack in a mountain. All for a few hundred dollars I had on me.

Once I they took my wallet, they beat me bleeding and had me call my family in U.S. to send more money. I was lucky I escaped.

Avoid Central America just to be on the safe side. Mexico is bad also.

It is one of the most violent countries I have ever visited.

I visited Honduras Last June. I stayed in La Ceiba for 8 days before I was taken a hostage by a group of Hondurans. They took me to a mountain top in La Ceiba. After they took what I had in my wallet, they forced me to call the U.S. to send more money. I was tortured, bleeding, beaten, terrorized with machete and a machine gun.
