That may be true that Tai and Sora grew up together. But Sora and Matt did get married according to Toei Animation. There is also evidence in the last episode in season 2 which shows the children of the two.

I think it makes sense if you watch the Japanese version. I mean they grew up together, both loved soccer, and were on the same team. Taichi (japanese version) was much more likable than the english one. the moments that Taichi and Sora had in the Japanese version seemed more believable, including the how it started between them. The way they split up didn't make much sense in either version. Matt and Yamato (Jap) are both too aggressive for a personality like Sora.

With Tai and Sora it seemed like true love, like they were meant for eachother ... I mean Tai was there for her and loved her always ~ unlike Matt.

Tai saved Sora from the dark and only gave her up because he wanted her to be happy. Matt ~ i really don't know when he started liking her -- them together ... it just seems so fake :'( *sad*
