  • That Gloria's some dish. You'd never guess she was Floyd the Barber's pen pal.

  • AA already existed in 1935 but was new. Was this movie inspired by AA or does it use the beliefs behoind AA? It sounds like it. They hint at the whole "disease" idea here and so forth

  • why didn't the bartender 86 him? Didn't they do that then?

  • note his increasing notes of grandeosity with every drink.

  • "So let's sink another drink, 'cause it'll give me time to think, and if I had a chance, I'd ask the world to dance, and I'll be dancing with myself..." --Billy Idol, "Dancing With Myself".

  • Wha's with th' 'Lympic rings on the(hic)bar...? ;])

  • Powerful. Thought-provoking. Intense. And just a tad too realistic for my personal comfort. 8-)

  • Ray Milland at his BEST. As a Hopeless, seemingly, Alcoholic. Plays it likes he's been there. But I don't think he ever was. Mark of a great actor. Agreed this roars past "Leaving Las Vegas" this more real. Like the bar tender Nat who always called Ray 'Mr Boinham." nd Gloria..."Don't be reedick." for ridiculous:)

  • This movie beats " leaving Las Vegas "by parsecs - because the casting is so much better.

Who botched the LLV lead role casting and why ?

That Cage guy was not good at all in the role - Elizabeth Shue should have been oscarized, not that silly Coppola's nephew !!

Ray Milland is so convincing in his performance - HIS performance was worth the Oscar.!!
