If you think this is a white version of this song, you should hear us sing it in our church...in the original arrangement and meter. I only wish we could do it this way. The lyrics were written in 1907 to the music of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy".

This was not a church - it was a TV show in Australia at Christmas - they do a Carols by Candlelight TV show every year - and the choir are just a group of Australian Christian singers who get together to do stuff like this.

This is Australia Singing Group - in Australia GOSPEL does not mean the same as in USA - it is simply means CHRISTIAN - they are not trying to be BLACK GOSPEL like in USA - they are merely a group of Christian singers singing this song LIVE ON TV OUDOORS on Christmas Eve for a LIVE TV show of CHRISTMAS. They didnt get to pick the song, it was picked for them by the producers and I think their performance was awesome
