Williams' version has a great razor's edge to the music -- something that U2's doesn't have. Thankfully Williams replaced the angry melancholy of the U2 original with fed-up anger. Also like how he recasts it as a song about homelessness.

I'd say this kicks the shit out of the the original. It would by great if another band would cover this song, because in my opinion U2 has to be the worst example of a group of musicians with more interest in Eire then money or even England; and their not all that talented. I think Sual in combination with NIN put more heart into this song then the original, because the lessons learned from the tragedy of bloody Sunday are universal.

The thing I love about the song Bloody Sunday is that it's not about whether the British or the Irish were right in the conflict but about how stupid and wrong it was for the killing to happen in the name of an arbitrary division that ultimate means nothing; that Bloody Sunday was a tragedy not a day to glorify. im part irish blood, i hate what was going on in ireland with the IRA. yes this song was written specifically for that subject but if you put it to wars and other governments it still fits and it is still relevant and i think this is a really good cover and saul is perfect to have done it as this is what he is all about. although he couldnt have done it without the help of trent reznor. if you listen carefully you can here the sample style from year zero...
