I' ve also got a 503 and I have a bit of trouble with it lagging when I use the internal clock. I have a microkorg, and I'd like them to stay in time. If I connect up the microkorg and the 503 with a midi cable (and set the 503 to recieve external tempo signals) can I still use the 503 and the korg as seperate instruments? All I want is for them to stay in time, and to be able to use them separately.
@Wihonymous I did it by first starting MFB's sequence with its internal clock, and then turned tempo to 000, and then it takes Microkorgs tempo, but stays standalone instrument, independent from Microkorg, expect the tempo.
I like these rough sequences! are they from the microkorg?
is it worth getting an older drum box like an MFB or something more versatile like an ESX or something? right now the only kit I have is a kaoss pad... I need something able to resample quickly
yeah, maybe... i almost never use vocoder, i use it only as a synth and it is good for me. Btw, for next i think i'll buy some mfb-synth like synth lite 2 or something.
hah thanks... i think i dont do that because that track played was only some live test, but i have that patch in my microkorg so i might someday record that. maybe

How did you get them to stay in time?

yes, they are!
It depends what you are looking for.
I think I would buy ESX, or another sampler.
They cost a little bit more but MFB gives just those drum sounds.

well done

I like your video! I'sold the mirco korg a year ago and I regret it. It's so much fun :-)

nice acidjam! next time make sure to record the audio seperately though, so we aren't just hearing the cam mic.

thanks!
yeah, I will, this video is pretty old and then I didn't have good gear to use in recording audio.
I hope I'll have some time to record some new videos soon!

never heard a microkorg sound as acid as this. are you running it through external fx?
neolojism 2 years ago
in this video there's only reverb with drum sounds. microkorg was clean, i think

how can it at the same time be cheap and overated..???

Really minimal and nice. Thanks for posting.

Is that 503 raw or is it put through effects?
Stakker 3 years ago
theres some delay added into hihats and cymbals, kick is raw but snare maybe has some reverb..

Sick....

More 503 - please ;)
The Microkorg is overrated imo.

More 503 will come soon. Imo microkorg isnt so overrated, its cheap and good VA-synth.
Sirkusisaatio 3 years ago
Well, too many people use them in a "wrong" way if you understand me? And that vocoder?
Think we'll never agree on this one. Ohh...
Yes, it's cheap ;)
We are also preparing some MFB-503 stuff :)

thats pretty good... you need to record this on a multitrack recorder software and master this.

I'm thinking about getting an MFB-503. How you find it? Would love to see more vids of it in action... there's hardly any on YouTube

cool....there is a sequencer in the microkorg?
akuna25 3 years ago
not really.. only in arpeggiator mode where you can set the tempo, range, etc...
you can use the sequencer only with arpeggiator, but you can make some weird arpeggios if you have some imagination ;)
