You dont get tired with an aerobic game. Rugby is fast paced, off the mark quick as possible. Thats explosiveness. All Blacks mainly train plyometrics (explosive moves) because other teams dont.

If the linemen can't run, they'll never be able to tackle/protect the QB. Because football players are in specialized positions they are also very skilled. In the NFL every inch matters so tthe hits are generally bigger as turnovers are so important and the action is not constant.

In Rugby what happens after the tackle is usually more important therefore the hits are not as big so as to be better set for the next phase or be able to create a turnover in the ruck.
