And from this verse we understand that His covenant includeth not wrong-doers, so all those who passed to rule on Islam are chosen by God and are not wrong-doer. And since Ali is an "Imam" so he chose Abu Bakr correctly and he was chosen by God "that is according to what you are saying". Of course I believe all what happened in the Islamic history is chosen.

The idea that there are 12 Imams for which all of them are non-sinners is simply something not to be accepted without proof, because that would make them better than the past Prophets because they were, as told in the Quran, sinners and not "Ma'som". The word "Shia" means "followers; members of party". As such, the term "Shia" alone has no negative or positive meaning unless we specify the leader of the party. If one is a Shia (follower) of the most righteous servants, then there is nothing wrong with being Shia.
I can provide references from Quran and Hadith where the term Shia is used to provide a more in depth understanding of the term.

@irooni100 Hello, irooni100. May God smite all those who lie on the Prophet or his Sahabas piece be upon them. Here's another difference between Sunni muslims and Shiites. Mohammed, piece be upon him, did not choose whom to come after him, nor it was mentioned anywhere in the Hadith or Quran. But there were verses in the Quran that told about Shura which Shiites don't believe in. Not to bring up the different Hadiths between the two. Of course the Islamic laws are perfect because are chosen..

I know what Shiite believe about Abu Bakr Alsedeeq and Omar Al Khatab, and I know what Sunni believe about them two as well. If you may please tell me what kind of Shiite you are? That's what I got when I searched for the translation of this verse.
Respective imams for me would be my country's leader, those scholars which I would follow, those who have passed in the past who had passed the history, religion and knowledge to us. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it is indeed: all is chosen by God and made true by His people.

It sounds silly when you think about it.. that the Islamic world should just stop from producing and should then wait for Al Mahdi to come out whenever God chooses to. Sunni people believe in Al Mahdi.. but that is different, you see, they believe he's to be born first before God sends him to Islamic world. And Sunni Muslims do not believe that he is "Ma'soom" because that is what God told them in their Hadiths and is what Rasul Allah said to them.

@irooni100 I don't understand how 2;124 is by any way connected to our discussion here. But I know that leaders are not necessarily Imams. And from this verse we understand that His covenant includeth not wrong-doers, so all those who passed to rule on Islam are chosen by God and are not wrong-doer. And since Ali is an "Imam" so he chose Abu Bakr correctly and he was chosen by God "that is according to what you are saying". Of course I believe all what happened in the Islamic history is chosen.

@irooni100 If Ali didn't select Abu Bakr, then why did he not oppose him and object on the fact that not only 1 but 3 came before him to lead Islam?
If you say that he did then why did God not guide Muslims of the better age to follow him? Maybe because Ali accepted what Sunni's call "Shura", or maybe because Ali wanted to spare the blood of Muslims? So still, God chose Abu Bakr in ANYWAY. Understand?
And Abu Bakr said that he's no better because he was kind and humble to say he was better

The idea that there are 12 Imams for which all of them are non-sinners is simply something not to be accepted without proof, because that would make them better than the past Prophets because they were, as told in the Quran, sinners and not "Ma'som". The only one which is told to be "Ma'som" is Mohammed piece be upon him.

He (the narrator) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBU) breathed his last on that very day.

@irooni100 Your example is as simple as it goes. But you had too many assumptions with no proof. Why did you assume that Ahl Al-Bait were the teacher in that? If I were to state the same example to anyone I would say that Mohammed and only Mohammed "piece be upon him" was the teacher. You assumed that what you read in Shiite's books about what Fatimah "said" to the Muslims was correct but you didn't consider other sayings because you think what you have read is correct, which is false to me.

The word "Shia" means "followers; members of party". As such, the term "Shia" alone has no negative or positive meaning unless we specify the leader of the party. If one is a Shia (follower) of the most righteous servants, then there is nothing wrong with being Shia.
I can provide references from Quran and Hadith where the term Shia is used to provide a more in depth understanding of the term.

I thought that the succession was already appointed by The Prophet of Islam. The Sunni Muslims do not believe that the Prophet had appointed a successor, and therefore they made an election immediately after the death of Prophet. When Mohammed was on his death bed, he wanted to write something of great value, but one of his companions prevented him from doing so. Sahih al-Bukhari Hadiths: 9.468 and 7.573

Sunnis deviated from the righteous path of the prophet (pbuh). The prophet (pbuh) clearly stated Ali (as) was to take the leadership role in the day of Qadeer that is recorded in many Shi'a and Sunni hadiths. Sunnis need to understand they are going astray and should find the rightly guided path.

The History of Religion ,started Right after our Father name ADAM .He and Eve ,who Broke their Promises to God, So they were removed from Paradise, For them to GO BACK ,They had to do certain things ,as well as asking God for forgiveness ,God Accepted their Prayers and took them back , but he set Standards for their children to go to Paradise , these standards all called Rituals,And Laws ,Delivered to People by Special People chosen by him.

well, its not that simple (in the vid). correct, it is about who is the ultimate arbiter (specifically the Caliph), but the divergeance of the two sects didn't even begin for another 30 years after Muhammad's death, when civil war broke out between the then Caliph Ali (the son in law), and Muawiyah ib abi sufyan, then governer of Syria. the supporters of Ali as caliph became shi'at Ali (Ali's Party), and from there the sect took shape shi'at was later rendered "Shia" in english.
