  • Is that Andrew Wood??(0:19)

  • @padajneseri1 No. Andy Wood death on March 16, 1990. It was in April.

  • @GreatMuta Sad.

  • whats wrong with chris' vocals here?

  • Comment removed

  • @djmm1397 This is early Soundgarden... Before his voice was strained.

  • Badmotorfinger is the best

  • Wow i remember song, this is off their 1989 album. Great times

  • I saw Soundgarden in Munich Germany in April 1990 before they were huge! Got invited backstage and partied with the band after the show. Have some great photos, including one which Chris Cornell took of me and my buds backstage. Truly a great down to earth band... been one of my favs since!

  • Audioslave were brilliant but soundgarden is......is......Soundgarden!

  • @GuitarPiddleFicker What the hell are you doing, including STP?!? They don't deserve to be on the same list. They're Alternative like Smashing Pumpkins, man. Weiland's lyrics, btw, are more representative of arena rock than the 'G Word'.

  • omg

  • 5 people need to get their heads out of their ass!

  • @JM13121 It's gotten old now and think we all can agree that the " .... number of people" comments is lame and inmature. So please shut up.

  • This song is for people who need to wake up ! YEAAAAAAAAAAH !! I always wake up with SOUNDGARDEN !

  • Actually, They're a Texas band. Rx.

  • Matt Cameron is so raw/awesome.

  • I see a lot of people trying to define "Grunge" but every all fails. I'm 36 years old, I live that moviment and until now I listen to the bands from 90's. Don't try to define the term, instead of this, just enjoy the sound and live your lifes. Bands like that never will comes again. That's all.

  • Where can I get this footage?

  • Grunge is only a way to call the bands from seattle soundgarden and AIC take their roots from black sabbath, the first heavy metal band \m/ and nirvana from hp music, anyway a great music scene :)

  • Chris is playing a Good lookin Les Paul.

  • Soundgarden is METAL

  • @W78516 Soundgarden is GRUNGE, with metal influences.

  • @nicoobi2 Fine. To me they are Metal. If you ask them they would say the same.

  • @nicoobi2 Am I reading your name right. I keep reading it as nincompoop.

  • I am not young :) Never said Soundgarden wasn't a Rock Band. AIC is METAL

  • Love this guitar riff, fav song off of louder than love.

  • Wow love the groove in the beat. Inside the pocket :)

  • @GuitarPiddleFicker pearl jam sucks and so does STP what the fuck is wrong with you? Soundgarden is not grunge you fucking poser

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre TROLLING THE TROLL>>>>TROLLING THE TROLL LMFAO........TROLL ALERT TROLL ALERT...MAMA DIDNT GIVE HIM ENOUGH ATTENTION SO NOW HE"S GOT TO FLEX HIS DUMB MUSCLE TO PROVE HIS DOMINANCE...THAT IS UNTIL HE GETS BROKEN BY LIFE...have fun with that

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre You can say the same thing about every grunge band.

Nirvana was punk, Pearl Jam and STP are more straightforward rock, Alice in Chains was heavy metal, Soundgarden is more thrashy metal; but all of them had just a little more edgyness and balls, and thought than the regulars of those categories, and happened to come along in the same place at the same time (except STP which was from San Diego) so they were labeled "grunge."

  • @cgnetwork1 alice in chains is not metal at all, Soundgarden was in the way to be one of the greatest rock bands of all time, but then, they released "Superunknown "....

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre Shut up if you don't know you are talking about. I hate genres, but you don't even know what they are supposed to be. You need to read some music magazines that explain the different genres. These genres are not all straight cut or black and white. They are mixed to. Learn to tell the different.

  • @W78516 please kid, dont be a faggot, you are to young...magazines? lol you also like wikipedia? genre is a bullshit. Soundgarden is a rock band.

  • @GuitarPiddleFicker i dont see a 5 piece here

  • I DO !!!!!!!!!

  • The rock Gods have always smiled upon SG,,they now have a giant grin, ear to fkn ear, along with the rest of us

  • The guy at :23 is high

  • People played this on my funeral

  • kim's fingers are so strong wtf

  • Agreed, imo this was their best work. That said there was not a bad Soundgarden album.

  • you are not alone. Louder than Love is their best album.

  • 1:02 a VERY rare mistake from Matt.. there's something you'll never see again

  • @foltrap6 it's not a mistkae he was just scratchin his balls lol

I just won a ticket for their private show in chicago thrusday night hehehe

  • @foltrap6 i dont think its a mistake. . .i think the Hi-Hat mic moves so it doesnt sound. . you can see the backliner moving it again

  • @DrummerGAS Ah! looks like you're right! then again deep down, i knew Matt couldn't ever make a mistake

  • love this song

  • Dont know about their best album, but it must be close, fuck they are good live. Had the pleasure in the early 90's

  • Loud LOVE!!!!!!!

  • louder than love is truly the best soundgarden record...

  • on of my favorite song s !

    thanx for keep your roots

one of the best 90s bands

  • cornell is good...

  • 0:23 tan como pa' ponerlas a petiar! xDD

  • i love the riff!

  • i doubt i'll ever love another band as much!

  • this was in 1990 ?? woww and this guys didnt even dress funny like some other bands did during this time ! i must say that theyre trully ahead of there time ! gota love this band

  • Wow they already looked like a major band in 1990. This concert was in Germany, noone knew them here back in those days and nobody couzld even imagine that a band called 'Nirvana' will rule the charts the following year... awesome

  • Giggles, I'm looking at how cute Chris is. He's even more beautiful now that he's older. As if that is even possible for him to be even more beautiful.

  • Great video. Soundgarden and Alice In Chains were the most outstanding bands, maybe the best American bands ever.

  • this brings me back...I remember getting listening to this single and the rest of the album over and over again....Kim Thayl is a great guirtarist and Cornell's voice is still of the best in rock music

  • this fucking riff is awesome !

the intro remenber me the grate bands of the 70s

    thanx for return guys !

the rock comunnity aprecciate that .

    SOUNDGARDEN RULES !

one of my favorites song s

  • Kim's solo melts space and time here

  • so... maybe is blasphemy but... I think that Tool has to be thankful to this guys. They sound very familiar, at their beginning as a band of course.

  • I agree, undertow was not so far from what Soundgarden did at the late 80's

  • haha matt drops his stick at 0:59 they still rock it out though soundgarden ruullez!!

  • Actually his high hat came loose you can see the stage guy fix it if you look real close.

  • nah,i agree with you man!

    besides,this is one badass

    hardrock song!

    cornell best singer in RNR.

  • I guess I'm the only person alive who thinks "Louder than Love" is their best album.

  • no way! I've been a fan since 1993 and Louder Than Love has always been my favourite SG album. Cornell's singing is mental on that album. HANDS ALL OVER!

  • that makes two off us bro.. haha

  • @ndteegarden

    its my favorite as well

i did a vocal cover of this one. its on my page.

he still does it the best tho!

  • @ndteegarden "Louder Than Love" is their best.

  • @ndteegarden I'm with you man...totally.

  • @ndteegarden: No. No you're not.

  • @ndteegarden No I do too, I love the whole album!

  • @ndteegarden I think it could be their best too.

  • @ndteegarden no, you're not.

  • @ndteegarden No you aren't. Although the following albums were great, "Louder Than Love" trudges, pounds, wails, and screams like no other...you've got good taste.

  • @ndteegarden No way man! Louder Than Love is amazing! Screaming Life/Fopp Ultramega OK, Louder Than love, Badmotorfinger, Superunkown and Down on the Upside are my absolute favorites! ;)

  • @ndteegarden Badmotorfinger is the best according to me... Like it better than superunknown...

  • @ndteegarden No your not I totally agree with you love this album its the best Cornell has ever sung.

  • @ndteegarden Your not the only one.

  • @ndteegarden no you aren't. i agree with you.

  • @ndteegarden nope your not.

  • @ndteegarden be assured... your not!

  • @ndteegarden

    Nope...I do too!...by far.

  • @ndteegarden i agree with you

  • @ndteegarden nope. In my opinion...it's the ONLY album.

  • @ndteegarden ur nt but i love all of them especially screaming life/fopp

  • @ndteegarden I agree with you about Louder than Love. Its Soundgarden's best album.

  • Fuck, I have this record, is average compared to the others by SG. But no song released after can beat Loud Love, it's just brilliant. I love the studio version, with that amazing SCREAM at the beggining.

  • chris cornell has said that so many times that soundgarden getting back together will probably never happen, But i could legitimately imagine a reunion tour at the most, mainly because while watching cornell on his new scream tour, hes gotten really bored and has been performing old songs and loving them like crazy just find some on youtube, also he seems to have found a comfortable way of imitating the higher range in his old songs, so i would easily be able to handle them perform again

  • you are a prophet

  • you saying you think Cornell is a prophet?? its strange but i only recently thought this may be a case of prophet..heh...listen to the lyrics of lots of his stuff...its like a strange version of some biblical books like Ecclesiastes or Isaiah..

  • Holy fuck. This is a million times more intense and psychedelic, raw than this live Audioslave version I just saw.

    Wow.

  • Yo i saw on a website that some guy(i think hes in a band with Kim Thayil or they're friends or something idk) said that soundgarden has been talking about getting back together. he just said "trust me, someone in soundgarden has told me that they are all talking again and have been having conversations about a possible reunion." does anyone have any more information on this?

  • I always thought that way and still do. Soundgarden was, is, will always be the best Grunge (if someone will label it) band.

  • *__*

  • America's great's time in rock was Grunge, IMO. That's when it replaced the old mold in many ways.

  • The lead singer did fifteen rum n' cokes a day back then, according to one interview.

  • this is what killed glam metal.

  • Thank God too. This shitty glam metal lyrics are fuckin disgusting. I swear if I hear another lyric containing someone 'keeping their motor clean' im gonna puke in my suit

  • i agree with u guys soundgarden is one of the best hard rock bands that ever lived in my mind! no one else does it like em!!! i wish i could have seen em live, what an experince that must b!

    soundgarden 4ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The song they were about to play at the end sounds like it was gonna be "Get On The Snake" off the same album.

  • I believe you are right, sir. Well called.

  • Is it just me or is the girl they zoom in on at about 20 seconds in really hot? I love that kiss she blows! Her friends seems ace too!

I love Soundgarden, this is a great show.

  • And it's probably safe to say the lead guitarist's wife is EXTREMELY lucky. Do they MAKE MEN LIKE THIS ANYMORE? Besides being beautiful, he could care less about what people think, which is hot, in and of itself. And he dresses like a real man. I've never seen a video or picture of him shirtless, in shorts, tanks, jewelry, tattoos, makeup, NOPE, boots, jeans, shirts.100 percent man. With some class, I think. AND OF COURSE HEARING THE GUITAR JUST MAKES MOST PEOPLE STUTTER.

  • man i really miss this..best of the best..and i was lucky enough to see this band live..woohoo

  • is that Hiro Yamamoto?. Anyway i think he was a great bassist and the LTL album was amazing. That sound was so mean and powerful. One of my favorite all time band and album!!

  • its jason everman i think, he only lasted about a year before he was replaced by ben shepherd but LTL was an amazing album, a lot of their earlier work is really under appreciated!

  • Soundgarden, the golden days of music.

  • the issue i have with Morello is he is sorta dated in the sense that you can tell a morello solo usally within 3-5 bars.

Thayil comes out of nowhere and your like did that just happen!!!

  • Kim Thayil and Tom Morello are the kings of annoying solo of awesomeness.

  • fuck the shit fuck the shit motherfuckers

    SG forever

  • ah ah jason everman!

  • Omg.. this is real music by a real Badass band. No, they arent the best band cause they ARE no band they are Gods!! You cant compare them to human beings!

(lol, you dont see Chris' face in almost the entire video!)

  • I like kim thayil alot and I think he owns his own style, but sometimes his solos sound like donald duck flippin out.sometimes.

  • isn't that tom morello you're referring to?

  • Oh in this vid I see your point with him sounding like donald duck. I just thought you were mistaking him to be Tom Morello like so many others do..

  • do they? hmm i like soundgarden alot more than rage or audioslave but who do you think is the better player?

  • Hmm.. I honestly dont know. But I too like Soundgarden a lot more than both rage and Audioslave. :) I think both Tom Morello and Kim Thayil are amazing guitarists! They both have awrsome styles! Really! I love them!

  • they are both great. agreed. what do you think of billy corgan's guitar playing? i love him.

  • Yeah he's amazing! I've liked The Smashing Pumpkins for a very long time and they're always sooo amazing!

  • thats awesome you agree! i think corgan was very under appreciated he got alot of attention but it wasnt always positive. he was such a brilliant musician.

  • Yeah it really was a shame.. Too bad for those who didn't get to listen to him because they only heard bad reviews! He has a great voice too! Very soft but still powerful!

  • I wish bands nowadays played real shit like this rather than shitty songs with only 4 chords. SOUNDGARDEN FUCK YEAH!

  • lol....as much as i love soundgarden and all of their work...kim is by no means a guitar god, sorry. with that being said, yes, hes fairly good at what he does

  • He seems a little shaky.

This whole show he was a little off. I think he did it on purpose. Cornell's a God.

He can hit those high notes.

  • where can I find this show for download?

  • 3:51

    Holy Shit!!

  • Kim's a guitar God.

  • That's a understatement for someone as good as he is!

  • In a sense, i believe chris is a better guitarist.

the reason why i say that is because he writes a majority of the music, including most of their best songs, maybe he cant do all those solos and stuff, but he makes all those songs and writes the majority of the lyrics, which is unbelievable

  • i totally get that my friend.

  • don't smoke to much weed man... it's effecting your intelligence...

  • No docter can save him..

  • yeah and no doctor can save the sickness of OUR MUSIC RIGHT NOW...

  • Of our lives. Of our culture. Of our country. Of our world.

But especially "our" contemporary music is sick, indeed. Fortunately, there are people like you still listening to some fine music.

    Cheers!

  • ^^v...

  • chris cornell has matured a ton as a vocalist since this...it still kicks ass dont get me wrong but now he can do everything his voice is silky smooth and he still can scream so much better than any of those screamo pussies

  • Can anybody else believe this was 18 yrs. ago...??

  • haha I was 1 year old...

  • was only 2. Man wish I could have been there! But damn stp is back together and they sound great for being rocking for 16 years. Many people forget that the "glory bands of the 70s" only played till about 81 or 82 and stopped, where as these bands continue to put on punishing after punishing show.

  • Yeah...I don't know about all that...

  • hahahaha whatever.

  • :-P

  • i was -2 and 1/2....i wish times were like the 90s again

  • I was the same age back then.. God, why cant we bring back these times?! I love this song.. Chris is a true God.

  • tom morello and chris cornell were better in there old bands...rage and roundgarden were the shit and always will be..

  • u guys calm down!!! omfg!!! soundgarden and audioslave r awesome!!!...but i'd have to say that soundgarden is better!!!!!!!!!!

  • u full of shit bitch

  • U shut the fuck up!! Audioslave are the best!

  • And I also prefer the Audioslave version than this live but not than the original version!!!

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah....wait.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • caramba... pero hay que ser un sordo para decir que audioslave suena mejor que soungarden.... simplemente basta con reconocer que CC tenía mejor voz hace 18 años

  • soul asylum is good band look for it...

  • also look up Machines of Loving Grace, miss them terribly

  • hehe, i have to agree with you there, but his guitar playing is probably the only thing he's all that humble about. love him to death though.

  • Loud
