People are starting to get used to the new brand of Point Guards. (Derrick Rose, John Wall, Russell Westbrook) These guys are all great and it helps that they have unreal athleticism. Kendall Marshall brings something new to the table. He will gladly make a 50ft pass to a teammate rather than beating guys with his feet. He wasn't blessed with the athletic ability of D-Rose or John Wall, but he makes do by being smart and willing to pass the ball. He will be a GREAT college point guard.

relax about strickland. he's a good player, just not really a PG. i like it though when he's the pg to give Marshall a rest because they play a completely different look for the other team, when strickland is pg is a high tempo fast paced game, but marshall slows it down. i think its good to have two different types of PG's to keep the defense on its toes. marshall is obviously the better pg but i like strickland as his backup.

He isn't wow fast, but his ability to make up for it by taking plays, making plays, and having great ball control is simply any good asset to any team.
The thing most people that no nothing about basketball is that many top schools wanted him. Those coaches saw something that the aveage everyday streetballer can't see. The thing is he put up good numbers in one of the top basketball conferences in the country. He didn't do like other players and put up big numbers in weak conferences. He also put up good numbers in all of the big camps. So they see that his numbers were the same no matter the competition.
I agree I played basketball with him when he went to Rippon... People don't realize when he first played his speed was quick. But as he grew taller, Kendall adjusted to that, most PG's can't adjust to different changes in their bodies. Kendall is good at making plays, has high IQ, disciplined father, and no doubt he will go far.
I like Marshall, he's very sound fundamentally & will hit it ahead to Barnes & co. He reminds me a lot of Magic and Kidd in the way he gives timely passes to team mates before the defense can react.... a lost art in BB today. He will be a very good 3 or 4 year player at UNC with a ton of assists. Go Heels!!!

The ACC is going to point guard heaven for the next couple of years. Think about it: Kendall Marshall, Kyrie Irving, JT Terrell, Ryan Harrow, Ian Miller, Tyrone Garland and Pe' Shon Howard just to name a few.
Now Imagine if a few more uncommitted PG prospects such as Brandon Knight (Miami), Cory Joseph and Ryan McCallum decide to all miraculously make the ACC their home. Wow!!!

Yeah Lance did mess up on that one but Ryan is a true point who can score. Kendell is like Greg Paulas from Duke. Greg Paulas is from upstate NY and once he played any good school in the city he had a problem just like Kendell in Va.

@holesh0t He doesn't have to be a crazy athlete to use his great court vision and passing skills to get the ball to Harrison and Reggie. He'll def outperform Larry b/c he won't be turning the ball over constantly, and this will help out our front court too, since our bigs will actually have somebody to get them the ball consistently.

Every UNC fan likes this kid. At first I had my reservations about him until I saw his performance in the 2 games in the bahamas. He sees the entire court & his passing is excellent. I became a believer this summer..
