It depends what your tolerance is like to it. I prefer taking multiple hits so I can say, take a hit, go do something for a while, then come back and finish it off. To me it's saving on weed because I could burn it all and be similarly just as stoned as if I smoked half the bowl. Every now and then I'll pack a big one and rip through it, but for general everyday use it would be very counter productive.
