@Hamdogrocks 2003 England's victory is 50% for Wilkinson (i remember how he bet us on his own in semi-final). 2007 RWC: see the difference when he's in or out versus SA... Now Dan Carter... How many RWC did he help to win ??
@loukhoum124 Only one, thanks to coaching and/or management subbing him off when the All Blacks lost, I didn't really see Wilkinson do anything well... Good in the 2011 RWC, Dan Carter was able to perform better in the 2 games before he was injured than Wilkinson did the whole RWC!
wilikinson being one of the greatest fly half of all time, he also is one of the games most ferrocious dfensive players. and a real team man... hell always be one of my favourites...
@robofob100 because hes not stupid and how would it help his team by trying to prove his toughness by running at one of the best defensive players in the world? also hes not a crash bang runner hes a fly half
@robofob100 Any back who runs straight at Brian Lima shouldn't be playing- that's basic game management. (and they probably wouldnt be playing much after a hit like that anyway). In addition, Lima does tend to run out of the defensive line a lot, Wilko is too good and too hard a fly half not to notice that and try to exploit it. Draw the hit, and you can put Will Greenwood or a back rower into a gap that is wide open for the half break.
No, his tackling technique did put him out for so long, its why he tackles completely differently and wears body armour, try reading one of his books first.
Ayy VVVV last time i checked if u wanna smash ur oppisition that is the best technique u could get low to high motion hitting the man and ball Perfect.... It was tackles like tehse that injured him not because of the bollocks ur coming up wit about his technique but hs comitment to make these tackles and how hard he was willing to hit anybody from ur Big number 8s or little 1 wingers..
no, it was his tackling technique that put him out for so long. he had to go away and learn to tackle another way.same with his groin injury was because of his constant kickin practice putting strain on his body.
Tackles like that are the reason he was out so long. It's a strong tackle but he throw's the shoulder in too much, which was one of his many injuries. Bad technique, good effect.
@maxfm82 im with you mate. i think hes a star in the game. traditionally should dislike him, as im from wales, but cant help admiring his all round skill, hope he still has a place for the 2013 lions tour
carter is definitely better than jonny at the moment but jonnys tackling was one of his best qualities as a 10, at his peak he was probably just that bit better than carter is now, but carter isnt plagued by injury!
yeh ive been hit like that your momentum is what does the twisting of the upper body it nearly broke my sturnum but ive put in a few similer but nothing like that myself amazing tackle.
his tackle on tait wasn't shite lol, stopped him dead in his tracks, carried him back about 10yards bakc the way he came and turned him over...sounds like a pretty good tackle to me.
probably the perfect tackle, could watch this all day

Ah this guy is something else. The perfect fly-half, his only mistake was being born on the wrong side of the English channel ;)

Cracking tackle!! It's just a good thing Jonny didn't have a Wales jersey on or the ref would have chucked him out!!!

You've seen better tackles from carter ? Upload it, id love to laugh at this .. No other 10 in the world puts in the defensive work like wilkinson.
Gumbleton12 3 years ago
Dude, Carter might not be a huge hitter but his defence is solid at worst. I don't remember
many players running through carter and if you bring your man down in first up tackles you've done your job.
