@Elman247 I remember load times in the N64 version (But its been a while) and I recently played the PSX version of Mayhem on my PS3 and many load times were so much faster and no loading during the match so it's different no matter what you play it on
@trailerboy415 Yeah, I remember that N64's graphics for their wrestling title's were more smoothed out and the characters didn't have those rough looking edges than in the playstation versions. If anything, HD tv's make the graphics worse.
@RapperJJJ WWF superstars came out before wrestlefest it was the prequel. You are right about which was the first wwf liscensed wrestling game but you should have included arcades because because it was wwf wrestlemania for nes (1988) wwf superstars was 1989 and wrestlefest either 1990 or 91 I can't remember I think the first ever actual wrestling games were either one of two because they both came out the same year and I don't know when- pro wrestling sega and nes but total different games.
@ps3tna I'd like to argue that world tour was the best, it had little things that made it more fun like a two out rule in tag matches, revenge had better moves though and the wrestler editing thing but it really pissed me off that they got rid of the two out rule. Actually the Japanese version of world tour was even better, it had more wrestlers than the american one and also the wrestler editing thing.
Mayhem is very under-rated.... i'm not trying to put it on a pedestal it should be #1 but it was it was the first game to introduce the backstage fights...
also, the wcw product started to go downhill in 1999 but even that product is a MILLION times better than the wwe crap we get today....

Man, backstage assault looks like the worst game ever. A wrestling game without a wrestling ring. Dang. It's nice to have the OPTION to go backstage and fight, and I think No Mercy did a good job with that, but there's really no reason to take out the ring altogether.
Not to mention Hulk Hogan is barely recognizable, which is sad, because he was instantly recognizable in even the 8 bit games that couldn't draw a mustache. He looks like The Booty Man, or the Disciple, or whoever the guy is.

Probably because the N64 was the party machine in it's day with 4 player support out of the box.
Its more logical to support that plus the N64 was more powerful and had a large enough audience to be profitable.

@trailerboy415 Yeah, I remember that N64's graphics for their wrestling title's were more smoothed out and the characters didn't have those rough looking edges than in the playstation versions. If anything, HD tv's make the graphics worse.

I think the oldest WWE game in the world including NES and Arcades was Wrestlefest. Not counting Arcades, I think it was WWF Wrestlemania.

@RapperJJJ WWF superstars came out before wrestlefest it was the prequel. You are right about which was the first wwf liscensed wrestling game but you should have included arcades because because it was wwf wrestlemania for nes (1988) wwf superstars was 1989 and wrestlefest either 1990 or 91 I can't remember I think the first ever actual wrestling games were either one of two because they both came out the same year and I don't know when- pro wrestling sega and nes but total different games.

@ps3tna I'd like to argue that world tour was the best, it had little things that made it more fun like a two out rule in tag matches, revenge had better moves though and the wrestler editing thing but it really pissed me off that they got rid of the two out rule. Actually the Japanese version of world tour was even better, it had more wrestlers than the american one and also the wrestler editing thing.

Mayhem is very under-rated.... i'm not trying to put it on a pedestal it should be #1 but it was it was the first game to introduce the backstage fights...
also, the wcw product started to go downhill in 1999 but even that product is a MILLION times better than the wwe crap we get today....

Nitro was painful.
Messy clipping, half used mechanics, shit animation, lackluster character models, lazy presentation, I don't need to continue. Even worse, I kept denying to myself that it sucked that bad....it is that bad, only fanboys will close their eyes to the MASSIVE flaws.

Man, backstage assault looks like the worst game ever. A wrestling game without a wrestling ring. Dang. It's nice to have the OPTION to go backstage and fight, and I think No Mercy did a good job with that, but there's really no reason to take out the ring altogether.
Not to mention Hulk Hogan is barely recognizable, which is sad, because he was instantly recognizable in even the 8 bit games that couldn't draw a mustache. He looks like The Booty Man, or the Disciple, or whoever the guy is.
