  • lol

  • most certainly one of the most advanced systems I've seen.

    won the innovate awards perhaps?

pitifully you need a much simpler robot to win the matches

  • @tribaltyn We did win the innovate award at NYS tournament at Clarkson College in Dec.

We further improved it for March Tournament in PA with IR sensor and automatic ball pickup but by then several teams had superior robots that gather and shoot many balls much faster than we could. There is a penalty for going to the first tournament - it forces you to choose a design that can implemented more quickly

  • are you guys fucking kidding me!?!?!?!? This is the worst robot I have seen, and that's saying something after the trash we saw at our regional tournament....it took you guys 20 seconds to load and shoot 1 ball for 5 points, and that's without anyone playing defense on you....come on. team 3391 FTW!!! (I'm David Pudlo)

  • Your comments don't represent the spirit of gracious professionalism

The video you commented on was taken the first time we ran our robot. For video at a competition, search for danholl3 on youtube. We took 2nd at Clarkson in Northern NY and will be at the PA regionals next weekend

I looked at video from your recent competition and all I see your robot doing is running back and forth not shooting

  • The loading mechanism seems to be a lot more work than it needs to be;

What I would do is have the balls load in from the back and into a containment chamber, and have it shoot on the front directly from the chamber.

  • Well our plan was to do something like that but as often happens turning the idea into reality in a limited amount of time isn't as easy as it might seem

  • I realize that, but what you're doing is more work than the initial idea, so if anything doing this would've been impractical in a limited amount of time.

I'm sorry if I'm offending your team or your robot, I'm just giving advice for next time: try to think about what you're doing in relation to the idea and what would take more work, time, etc.

  • Looks like there's too many stops, but that' through the video. Can it do continuous?

  • Not sure what you mean by "too many stops" and "continuous" - can you give me more details?

  • Ok, a few things.

    1. I think the pickup design is pretty useless because of the fact that is can't pick up more than one ball at a time.

    2. You can't shoot multiple balls at a time, so in end game i see it being difficult to get more than a few balls in.

    3. That thing looks like it can't hold more than 6-7 balls.

    4. Just curious, where are you from, I am from a team in NJ and I wanted to know if we would be seeing each other in competition any time soon?

  • Your comments are all valid i.e. we certainly don't have an ideal design but at our first tournament at Clarkson University in Northern NY we were the only robot that could score in the high goal and one of the very few that could score any points in autonomous mode. We won every event except the last two of the final round. We also won the innovate award. We will be at tournament at Weatherly PA . Search for 796 robot for video of tournament. Is there video of your robot?

  • Currently there isn't one, because we wanted to keep our work a secret. But Saturday we are hosting a scrimmage at Middlesex County College, so i will probably be posting the videos of there. Also, your win grants you admission into which tournaments exactly. We already have invitations to New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware state tournaments. Where will we see you?

  • Caution884 Any videos from your scrimmage Saturday?

  • Does that thing even fit within the 18^3 inch cube requirement?

  • Yes - very close but it fits.

  • thats the way to do it push the envelop lol at one point our robot was less than a thickness of paper from hitting any side of the box.... Which we do just about every year lol

  • We meet two times a week for 3-4 hours a meeting.

  • Yes - shoots both types of goals but picking up balls in challenging and we can only store a few balls

Your robot blew away my whole team. How much time does you team meet per week? We initially had similar concept ideas but didn't have the time to put them into a workable robot.

  • does this shoot far goal to?

  • it is a whacker arm

  • Nice :D
