@JRPythons I often fed them bees, and I also fed wasps and the never hab any problems about that. Maybe you had different experiences with bees, I only can tell how it worked to me, no offence ;)
@Mihomike Sorry:P I'm a noob (have yet to get my first) but a friend has them and I've been reading up quite a bit on them, I heard that bees and wasps can be fed if you cut off their stinger but I thought that they'd attack the mantis if you didn't! Sorry for the mistake:D...p.s I'm looking to get a C.Gemmatus at the moment, imo they are the most beautiful! :)
can you feed crickets as a staple?
omina21 9 months ago
@omina21 I think it's better to vary the food, to keep them healthy. A much better food are roaches ;)

hi, was ur mantis ok after eating the cricket? apparently crickets have a chemical in them that is harmful to mantids, esp creobroter.

@shadesofcolours I think it's only a problem if you just feed one food animal... normally you feed flies, crickets, roaches, bees etc.

@JRPythons Sorry for the late replie, according to my experience it is not nescessary to cut the sting off, mine have never had problems ;)
But of course i'm not 100% sure if not in some cases the wasp or bee could harm the mantis ;)

Hi Mihomike.
How old is she in this video? And also does this species have a common name? Thanks
judomouse 2 years ago
About 5 month, I think. This species is in general called a flower-mantis. But why using synonyms, the latin names aren't that difficult ;)
greetings Michael
