If you say its because of excessive wear due to increased pressure on the engine then your might as well not mod your car at all because that's natural in any application that increases horsepower. Splitting N20 basically allows for more oxygen while the remaining nitrogen absorbs heat from the combustion.

@calypsogst look im not gonna lie...the more i seen the evo X the more i like them...but yes it has four doors...but theres a difference between actual space...charger srt8 has a big trunk and just a lot more roomy and on long trips are great...certain times when i go on family vacation i also have to put luggage on the back seats with my two kids also...evos are great cars..pretty mean looking too with that black grille but in terms of practicality...just not as practical as srt8.

I agree there is a lot more room for big trips with the fam. Although I cant stand how the windows are so high. Im a tall guy and it seems that just my head sticks above the window level. That and the cheap looking interior. Although the evos have that issue as well....sigh....mopar and mitsu have had them problem forever.....doubt itll change now
@calypsogst the new 300c srt8 interiors is much improve but im sure alot of poeple will have trouble spending 50k on a dodge even though its an srt8...for 50k you can buy a pretty nice used c63 amg or barely used m5.
They are not making any new model evos and if they did it would be slower then evo 8 and evo 9 due to the added weight. However the evo 10 does handle better then the older models.
@Curveball Yes, according to the sales brochure but in reality they really are around 350 crank h.p. stock. They were under rated to keep the Corvette as top car.
The corvette would still have been the top car even if the Camaro was listed at 350. The LS1 had a few freaks that put out more than 320, but it was an exception, not the rule.

That gragh at the end might be max. psi which they did not put on the graph. I race a ZXR1200 in the quarter and ride the streets with it and i see no major difference in the two fuels and I run a 110 octane race fuel. I think if race fuel would give me 25% more power I would tell the difference. Go crawl under the rock from which you came.
@3psu stock block evo with bolt ons and a stock frame turbo upgrade makes 400hp on 93 ocatane at 27lbs of boost and 525hp on e85 and 34lbs of boost. So yes minor upgrades under 5k and you can make 500hp. Also going from pump gas to a race gas in a turbo charged car makes a huge difference. On my old set up it was a push of the button to change maps and turn up the boost.
@Cloudstrife1188 0 to anything EVO always wins. Take a stock 2012 EVO 13.1 1/4 mile and race it against the stock 2012 5.0 mustang. The mustang is quicker threw the quarter by .2 seconds Hell the ZR1 has ran a best 11.1 second quarter and the GTR AWD nissan best of 11.3 seconds. Like I have said all along the imports need to modify to win!!! When the new 2012 ZL1 camaro comes out the EVO will never touch it. The 2012 Boss 302 run a 12.7 Quarter so the EVO in stock form is not all that tough!!!

@calypsogst look im not gonna lie...the more i seen the evo X the more i like them...but yes it has four doors...but theres a difference between actual space...charger srt8 has a big trunk and just a lot more roomy and on long trips are great...certain times when i go on family vacation i also have to put luggage on the back seats with my two kids also...evos are great cars..pretty mean looking too with that black grille but in terms of practicality...just not as practical as srt8.

@cuts2thebone Yeah I will agree. I was looking into buying a 300C srt-8 back in 07 but they had just stopped offering it to buy when I was in Iraq. I agree there is a lot more room for big trips with the fam. Although I cant stand how the windows are so high. Im a tall guy and it seems that just my head sticks above the window level. That and the cheap looking interior. Although the evos have that issue as well....sigh....mopar and mitsu have had them problem forever.....doubt itll change now

and no it doesnt... with an evo all you really need is an accessport and some bolt ons and youll pretty easily hit 400 at the wheels

That gragh at the end might be max. psi which they did not put on the graph. I race a ZXR1200 in the quarter and ride the streets with it and i see no major difference in the two fuels and I run a 110 octane race fuel. I think if race fuel would give me 25% more power I would tell the difference. Go crawl under the rock from which you came.

@3psu stock block evo with bolt ons and a stock frame turbo upgrade makes 400hp on 93 ocatane at 27lbs of boost and 525hp on e85 and 34lbs of boost. So yes minor upgrades under 5k and you can make 500hp. Also going from pump gas to a race gas in a turbo charged car makes a huge difference. On my old set up it was a push of the button to change maps and turn up the boost.

The mustang is quicker threw the quarter by .2 seconds Hell the ZR1 has ran a best 11.1 second quarter and the GTR AWD nissan best of 11.3 seconds. Like I have said all along the imports need to modify to win!!! When the new 2012 ZL1 camaro comes out the EVO will never touch it. The 2012 Boss 302 run a 12.7 Quarter so the EVO in stock form is not all that tough!!!

Evo is due for a new model soon and its going to be yet again, better than all of its competition. You wanna talk about quarter miles with Zr1? @Cloudstrife1188 Your not saving money or losing money from the 5.0 and camaro according to the manufactures MSRP the EVO MR starts at $37,295... The Camaro SS starts at $34,420... The Mustang 5.0 starts at $33,310 So the EVO cost more. Stock the 5.0 is faster and the Camaro is just as fast with the extra $3000 I think the Camaro and 5.0 could do some real nice suspension upgrades and beat the EVO on the road track as well. The FQ400 is a Europe only model and the dollar to pound conversion is 1.6 to 1 so that makes it an $80,000 car and the 0-60 is actually 3.8 the 3.3 you mentioned is the ZR1. Hell even the CTS-V ran 0-6 in 3.6 sec and cost $63,000, $17,000 less than the FQ400!

@Cloudstrife1188 FQ400 is limited to 150mph so it would never beat the CTSV time around the Nurburgring the CTSV tops out at over 190mph it would blow past he FQ400 on the long ass back stretch! If it was not limited you would only get about 170mph out of it. I think you need to do a little more reading on the EVO it really is not that bad ass in stock form in any model for the money you pay for the 4 banger. Price for price I can find a domestic that is faster! Gas saving grocery getter!!!

@Cloudstrife1188 Well I invested 18K into my LS engine and 6K in suspension and rear end for my Trans Am which is why the "stock" EVO presents absolutely no threat to me or others with F bodies blasting their way into the single digits on dragstrips... As I stated in my very first post; racing a modded car against a stock one when the modded car has over 200 more horses is honestly a waste of gas. My simple suggestion is to race cars (modded or not) that share similar stats. Then brag away..

Top speed dot com and wikipedia both have it rated at 3.8 seconds!!! The comparable priced Z06 is faster at 3.7... I will let you know the FQ400 has gotten slower the 2005 model year is 3.5 to 60 and tops out at 175mph... Mitsu has gone backwards!!! LOFL!!! Crawl under you rock and do more research!!!

Ok.. who cares about tuner versus american muscle, the flaw in this race is the cars aren't in the same bracket. Camaro weighs about 3300 lbs, and the evo weighs about 2900, so 400 lbs lighter, and 200 more hp. Not a fair race, however, to the idiots who think slapping a turbo and tune on the camaro would make this a fair race, yeah, turbo'd V8 vs turbo'd inline 4... Stupid. The guys saying " Amuurricaiiin Muscle, yeehah!" Should get their head checked. Eat it!

@dobypaw because either of them are really going to hit their top speed on any real track. and yes, TT AWD, but still over 100 less hp. and your numbers are wrong. stock gtr can hit 60 in 2.9 seconds and 11.2 second quarter mile.

@xkilltheinternetx I own a 1974 camaro z28 and i have raced everything from civics,evos,eclipse to domestic muscle cars and it doesnt matter if you do have a heavier car thats why you build your engine to make up for the extra weight yes if we put the same exact engine in a camaro into an evo yes the evo would tear a hole into the camaros ass the chevy 350 is the easiest engine to mod and im pretty sure a cam,turbo and heads on that camaro would beat that evo

Bring the evo's power down to the camaros and i think we'd have a pretty good race that would come down to powerband, driver error and such. Give credit where it's deserved.

@leadguitar500 Yeah, that's the popular word. The Camaro was still less than the Vette. The Vette had more aggressive heads and a more aggressive tune. By the books the 1998 Camaro SS has 320HP, I saw a Dyno that a professional car testing company did on a youtube vid, they said it's around 330.
