  • pitney hadn't finished the song before the early release of valance...spock had no part in my favorite movie...lee marvin was liberty...gene's song was released after movie & became a hit on its own...

  • WHAT A MAN LEONARD NIMOY WAS god he was so sexy!!

  • wow did u knoe this theme is in read dead and all the places in red dead look real close when u go to the time limit in this video go to 2minutes and 17 seconds and u can see there in fort mercer in red dead and when the guy gets shot on the stairs hes in mexico from red dead redeption 2 thats awsome i think and this video and song is wonder full i hear it every day from my satilite radio from the 60s music its wonder full

  • nicely done video, enjoyed this.

  • This interesting because the gene pitney theme was never used in the movie because john ford didnt like pop songs in movies

  • @spacepatrolman Thanks for the info.

  • Nice job! This is one of the best composites I've seen on YouTube. I hope you're going into a career in film editing. This is pretty artsy, and a real tribute to Mr. Nimoy. I know one of the moves is Catlow, what are the others. And hey, Gene Pitney rules!

  • This is actually almost music!!! Perhaps the best song sung by a member of the original Trek series i've ever heard.

  • @HolyMotherofGrid Gene Pitney was in Star Trek? ;-) Sorry... I had to.

  • OK, that was damm clever. Thanks!

  • Whenever I see something where somebody kills the character Mr. Nimoy is playing, I say, 'I hate you.'

Unless of course, it's (SPOILER) The Wrath of Khan. Then I yell KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!!! LOL

This video is making that difficult. If Leonard Nimoy kills Leonard Nimoy...who am I supposed to say that to?

I mean, if I love Mr. Nimoy, how can I hate him, but if I hate anyone who kills his character, then how can I love him, and if I love him... *brain fries*

  • What are the lyrics from 2:08 through 2:12ish?

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins

"From the moment a girl gets to be full-grown the very first thing she learns

When two men go out to face each other only one returns"

  • @leony331 Thanks

  • This video is torturing me! You MUST upload every single movie that you have a clip from. It's he only way I could see them.

BTWm awesome video. I watch it All The Time!

  • What's the one where He has the Gun from Wanted Dead Or Alive?

  • Sorry, but I still can't figure out what 1:37 ( in the wagon), is from? Also what about the scene at 1:52, where he's been shot, ( poor baby!!!).

  • what is the film when the song goes "from out of the east a stranger came a law book in his hand" 0:42 to 0:54 and 1:48 to 1:50 also 1:52 1:56 also the one where LN is shot please and are these films available on dvd thanks . Excellent video

  • This is Golden Country

  • oohhh he rides a horse, fires a gun,, washes up beautifully is there anything this great man cannot do . Does anyone know where i can get hold of these films in the UK please as it drives me mad only watching snippets great as they are .Thank you for your time and effort much appreciated .What I wouldn't give to have been a fly on the wall or the horse

  • Hi leony, not only John Wayne (who played a supporting role) was in the movie, but, Jimmy Stewart, played the main male lead role. Great movie and a terrific song. Thanks for posting!

  • Damn, I thought this was going to be Nimoy singing the song.

  • @damnyoustamos

Yes, at some point in his career -didn't Nimoy fancy himself as a Folk singer or something..LOL

  • Schön gemacht. Man sieht das du mit Herzblut rangegangen bist. Allemal 5*****Sterne wert.

  • 00:49 LOL it's like the Vulcan Cowboy XD

  • I loved the way you had Nimoy play both parts...good and bad guy. Neat.

  • Thank you. It was fun doing the video, especially the part where he shoots at himself ;)

  • 1:47 err...that pose is...oh well...

  • Leonard Nimoy was in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance"? Is that the one with Jimmy Stewart???

  • Lol. Never mind...

  • No, he was in a Western called 'Catlow' in 1971, and in a Bonanza TV movie.

  • I had forgotten that Leonard Nimoy played in westerns. He was, and still is, a gorgeous man and wonderful actor.

  • What a beautiful, beautiful man. Nice video, too!

  • That was very nice! A span of a few years. Thank you very much for doing that.

  • Oh, 2:37 -- so sad!

    Great collection of clips! Thanks!

  • 1:30...PHYSICALY COLLAPSED.

    *no more coherence available*

  • How did I end up at this video?

  • i listen to this song everytime i go on vacation!!! and im a kid!!

  • I have looked for a listing for "Liberty Valence" on his IMDB page and it is not there. These scenes actually appear to be taken from the movie "Catlow".

  • Did y'all not see him with his hair slicked back? If that man is not one of the most beautiful man on this planet, even till this day. Then hell I don't know who is, don't even want to know em'! lol

  • Glenn Yarborough, isn't it? I knew it would come to me. Middle-aged, slow memory recall sometimes heeheehee.

  • are you saying that the video is of Glenn Yarborough???

  • No, I was just following up on my previous comment where I was trying to remember the original artist. But now that I listen again I want to say it's Johnny something or other, who the heck is singing??? Name on the tip of my tongue. That happens more and more as I get older heehee!

  • Oh okay lol, Im like how do you not know that sexy thing is Leonard Nimoy!!!

  • LOL !! I actually had the good fortune to meet Nimoy in the late 60s, got his autograph (lost my autograph book long ago) and he wrote "Spock" on my hand!! I got a kitten soon thereafter to replace our old cat who died, and named him Spock becuz he had pointed ears heehee!! I adore Nimoy.

  • Awwe!!!!!!!!!!!! your so lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aside from the fact you lost the book!!! I would frame it and guard it with my life!!!!!! I named a tree I planted Spock... but that is a far as I will go! And if he wrote Spock on my hand I would get it tattooed!!!

  • Do you remember what year it was?

  • I'm pretty sure it was 1966, or maybe '67, the year his album came out with Bilbo Baggins and Mirando on it, my friend bought it and had it autographed, and we listened to it a lot. I wonder whatever happened to that friend in Pacoima, Calif.-her name was Carmen Ramos. Carmen, where are you?

  • Lol, your so lucky =(

Im 13, I wish I could meet him, I have this awesome picture I got in Vulcan (Alberta) of Spock and I would do ANYTHING for him to sign it =(

  • Try this: Google his name, look for any information as to his management people, then contact them requesting to send thenm the photo by registered mail for an autograph. I'm sure they'll try to accommodate you!! Who knows, they might even surprise you with some xtras, like additional photos or something. Good luck!! You're a wise young kid, able to see something of value in a person who's not like today's "celebrities". Stay sweet.

  • Thank you so much!! =)

  • Gene Pitney is singing.

  • I had no idea Nimoy was in this program, never really watched westerns as a kid, but love them now. I've always liked the theme song though, sounds like that folk singer from back then whose name I cannot remember!

  • poor liberty....got shot in the back

  • what movies are these clips from?

  • Spocks a Bad ass

  • at 2.00 - 2.02 he looks weirdly like Michael Trucco of BSG.

  • thanks for keeping this alive

  • By the way; I freely admit to being tarnished by Leonard's later work in Star Trek but looking back on all those cowboy roles, they don't seem to fit him in my eyes.

  • " PhantomDog" that's an unusual ID - where did you get it from?

  • I actually forgot but it was either A-I derived it from "being dogged by spirits" or B-I used it for tribute to my dogs (Alamo and Peanut).

  • I like Nimoy but he looks too dignified to be a grubby saddle tramp even if the whiskers look good on him. At 0:54, he must been hired for Spock just on that eyebrow twitch.

  • 0:53, Eyebrow thing!

  • I never knew Leonard was such a big westerns star! I love westerns, and have always liked Leonard as an actor. Thanks for posting!

  • I love this song :))))

  • What's the one where he's in color and is older with a black hat from?

  • Bonanza: Under Attack.

  • Thanks, how big of a part does he have?

  • It's a substantial part. He's the main guest star and if I had to guess I'd say he's in about half of it throughout the movie.

  • Thanks, I was thinking about getting it on ebay, since I'm a Star Trek and Bonanza fan. =D

  • haha arnt we all on the inside^-^LOL

  • Heck yeah! XD

  • If you like to check the website "Thanks to Leonard Nimoy" you'll find a comprehensive collection of his various works.

    Margitta

  • If you are a Leonard fan...

... you HAVE to see "Thanks to Leonard Nimoy" to believe just how comprehensive it is and interesting as well!

  • Leonard Nimoy is a pure legend : )

  • Thank you for uploading Liberty Valance

  • Nimoy&Pitney=Rocks!

  • ahh!

    i LOVE leonard nimoy!!

i watch this video like every day lol

and ur mission: impossible one too ;]

  • Great video! I can't deny a good video with Leonard Nimoy 5 stars.

  • I love it!!!! Congrats

  • the song was on the simpsons i had to take a look at it lol

  • He reminds me of Anthony Quinn somehow..

    great vid!

  • Thanks so much for posting! I haven't heard this song since I was a kid. And I didn't realize Nimoy did so many Westerns! Cool!

  • I was wondering the clips that has the word super on top left, it looked like I saw Ben Johnson & Jack Elam please tell me what's those clips are from.

  • The clips are from the third Bonanza TV Movie "Bonanza: Under Attack". Leonard Nimoy plays reformed former outlaw Frank James.

  • 00:09 am I seeing things or is that a location that also appears in "A Fistful of Dollars" ?

Post a list of the movies and shows you pulled clips from please? My brain is going to pop trying to guess. :)

  • Let's see, the clips are (in order of first appearance) from Catlow; The Virginian: Show Me a Hero; A Man Called Shenandoah: Run, Killer Run; The Virginian: Showdown; Bonanza: Under Attack and Colt.45: Night of Decision.

  • great video great song!

  • awesome thanks!

  • wow... Leony331 is the real thing, folks! Jeff

  • Those Catlow clips look mighty cool.

  • what are the majority of the clips from? Like the polishing the gun on the bed, riding into town, the bathtub scene, and getting shot on the stairs. What are those from?

  • They are from "Catlow".

  • who is that blonde girl???

  • The clip I assume you are talking about is from an episode of "Colt .45".The episode's title is "Night of Decision". She obviously is the love interest of Nimoy's character Luke Reid who is a very very bad guy.

  • Do you know her name?

  • The characters name is Viola Thorpe and she is played by Jory Raymond. May I ask why the special interest in her?

  • No special interest, I just thought I recognized her from something.

  • Was Liberty Valance a show?

  • It is a western with John Wayne done in 1962. At the time we made the video Margitta and I only had the song from a country music CD she owned, though.

  • Didn't you said in your description that he played Liberty Valance?

  • No, I essentially said that the video is a mixture from westerns he appeared in and that we had fun thinking of this as doing our own little movie that we "cast" him in.

  • Oh I see. Great video!!

  • Getting into a western for movies or TV was employment offered to actors at the time. No western ever lost money up to a certain point in the early sixties.

Shatner was in a western called "White Comanche" if I'm correct.

  • U're right...Shatner shot the eurowestern u've mentioned in Spain, during a hiatus of the original STAR TREK series (around 1966).

  • This is amazing! I had no idea Leonard Nimoy had done so many Westerns. He is hot, whether he is a cowboy or Vulcan <:')

  • I had no idea he did anything but Bonanza, i'm really surprised too.

  • I haven't seen him on Bonanza. Do you know if it is posted on YouTube or something?

  • No i'm afraid I don't. I just heard that he did an episode of Bonanza called "The Ape"

  • Didn't know the man had been in so many westerns, I know about Catlow and Bonanza, yeah and Old Overland Trail where he is an indian.

That song gonna end up as a stayer song in my head now.

  • the third was a part of his first appearance in Bonanza in 1956, I think. the episode was called "The Ape". and he looked soooo gorgeous in there.

  • He has played in more than 38 Westerns. So far I have collected 28 cowboy - episodes and 10 Indian ones. Check "Thanks to Leonard Nimoy" Margitta
