i would just like to say this is an amazing achievement. i am a firefighter and let me tell you this exercise is no joke. congratulations on a wonderful achievement. keep on pushing forward. the fire service needs great examples like this.
Its tough for the guys too. I've competed a few times and by the time you get to the dummy ur just gassed. Draper is a monster.....she works out of Colorado Springs FD. She is the first woman to break the 2 minute mark. BTW, I'm fairly strong and my PR is a 2:05. I'm no stud, but just shows you how badass Draper is.
This goes out to all of you that think you can beat Juliet. Maybe, but one thing is for sure, she can hold her own. I served with Juliet in the Army as a firefighter and we have known eachother for 20 years. One thing that I do know is that anytime the shit hit the fan, I knew I could count on her. We trained together, in fact I helped her train for her first bodybuilding competition where she placed 2nd in the female heavyweight division and 1st place in the overall. Do what you do baby. Aloha

Questioning something remarkable and highly unachiveable for most is not unnatural. You've never questioned any athlete in any sport in your life? Everything is natural and law abiding in this world...jeeze how could i forget???
relax there champ. I asked what perhaps many others are thinking. I accept what fyrsis is saying to be the truth. She is undoubtly talented and dedicated. And if it is so misogynisitic as you put it..why do the drug testing policies exist? Because people have used and have been caught using enhancing stimulants in the past..and i'm sure they are just as inspiring as Juliet.
I think it's really quite misogynistic and a huge insult to make a statement about drug testing a truly inspiring firefighter. I hope Draper comes to your house and kicks you in the face with her all natural strength. What an ass you are.
Congatulations Juliet, job well done, I for one would be interested in how its done. All firefighters should cary some fitness but this is outstanding.
I guess everyman isn't faster than everywoman. Kevin Tjelle, Jack Hickey,Denny Peffer,Stacy Billapando; all champions, helped. Maybe some highly paid athlete can come up with stuff to fake the test, on a firefighter's salary I don't think so. I'm her partner and I train with her. Find me a athlete willing to eat all their meals at home, work, train eat and rest for 3 years to meet a goal. Thanks for the congratulation.
not saying it can't be done..but it is highly unusual considering that many males that have been running the challenege following strict diets, and excercise routines can not pull off a time of that nature. If indeed she is natural, more power to her. congratulations.
No test done after this race. However testing will be done at worlds and testing was done last year at the State Games of America where she won the powerlifting contest with lifts of 1004lbs. What you see is 26 years of weight lifting, no drinking, smoking or supplements a pristine diet and hard work, discipline and dedication. We will show you how to do it if you are interested.
frysis, i am interested. :) i'm in academy right now, and it is tougher for me than for most of the guys, although I'll be honest and say that I've been doing better than several of them on some of the physical stuff. I'd love to know how to get even better. Our department is BIG on wildland, so we're going to be doing MONDO hiking. (I can't wait!)
Badass!!! ;-)))

Awesome! I wish the kids I teach at the fire academy had half this much heart. The fire service would be a much different place.

she was doign amazign so fast then when she got to the lifting it kinda went slow, do women have a harder time when it comes to lifting the dummy?

oh wow ok thanks for explaining it i wasnt too sure

How much do those things weigh that they carry up the stairs, and how much are the dummies?
soupysoup 3 years ago
The high rise pack is a section of 2 1/2 inch hose, so like 45 pounds, and that dummy is around 175ish.

Roids or not, she is capable of doing her job, better than most. I would feel safe if she responded to a struture fire with me or my family inside.

Every men isn't faster than every women, but men are still faster if they train as hard as they did. Simple.
Yes, if I don't train and be a lazy ass, women that train will be better than me. But if I train seriously, I will beat her.
