Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK3 with Serato Scratch Live

HE BRO , IM STILL LEARNING TO BE A GOOD DJ. I WOULD LIKE TO ASK U THIS QUESTION: I USE ONLY THE CDJS 2000; AND FOR ORGANIZED MY MUSIC I USE PIONEERS REKORD BOX, AND IM THINKING ABOUT TO BUY A SERATO SCRATCH LIVE. BUT IM NOT VERY SURE WHAT DOES SERATO DO FOR ME IN MY DJING. BY THE WAY MY TYPE OF MUSIC IS ELECTRO HOUSE, PROGRESIVE HOUSE AND COMERCIAL MUSIC.AND IM NOT INTO SCRATCHING. PLZ GIVE SOME TIPS ABOUT IT. DO I NEED TO BUY? O DONT NEED 2. THANKS U ALOT

yuck lol god i hate time coded cd....hid mode is such a better option.....you can do so much more with it....my cdj 850s are pretty much worthless with the time codes all you can do is use the jog wheel and the pitch fader thats it

Hello Mandyshlakdapaul, I have Serato Sl3 + cdj1000 mk3 and I do not obtain to use the functions of cdj together with the Serato as Loop, cue, pitch. Has some function in set up that I have that to modify to use these functions. Best Regards.

@EEZAL the setup is like with turntables. i'm using the sl3 interface and there is a switch for line in/phone level. cdj out->input sl3 and then output sl3->line in from mixer. then look in the setup, the scopes must be perfect when you using timecode cd's. but you must set the interface for line in level, otherwise the timecode will be distorted.

bonjour je m'appel Menddy j'ai acheté Serato Sl1 et j'ai téléchargé la nouvelle version de Sratch Live et j'ai comme configuration une Djm 800 et deux platines CDJ 1000 MK3 et les fonctions Loops sur les platines ne fonctionnes pas avec ni les point Cue... lorsque j'appuie sur la platines CDJ 1000 MK3 sur IN et OUT sa clignotes mais ça ne fonctionnes pas....??? j'aimerai vraiment que quelque puisse m'aider. Merci

Boujour Menddy, pour utiliser toutes les fonctions de ta platine avec ton SL1, il faut mettre en mode "ABS" ;)

I want to set this up with my CDJ 1000 (mk2's) is it easy to set up?

@sxemola it's easier than turntables, cause you don't need to calibrate the cdj's. the timecode signal is perfect out of the box when you using cd's.

Do you think this would work? Dose shutter cue and the pitch control all work the same ?

@sxemola no serato only works with interfaces from rane like the sl series and some of their mixers.

Wait a sec, When i use cdjs w/serato i cant use those functions (hot cues). but now im thinking i should be in absolute mode instead of relative. is that what your doing ?

@hummurabi2010 right, you must be in absolute mode for this. it's like a needledrop on vinyl ;-) the same think for loops on the cdj.

@InglishTheDiskJockey no settings are needed on the cdj. just use it like with normal audio cd's. and don't use the mastertempo on the cdj!!!

for best performace in ssl you must set the minimum buffersize. like 2ms. but with 10ms it works too.

the other option: sell your 1000 an get the 900 ;-) it is supported nativly.

@mangyshlakdapaul worst advice ever lol, 900 is an awful CDJ, I used them many times i hate it it feels like a cdj 400 just bigger, obviously go for the 2000's but keep 1000's if not 900 suck, and I've never used the new cdj850 so i cant comment on that

hey, im using serato v2.1.1 (abs and int mode) with one cdj 100 mk3 . everything used to go fine, but now i cant rewind to the beginning tracks using "track search" or "search" button on the cdj to rewind to the beginning of tracks... when i use "track search" have you come across this and could you help with this pls????...thanks

@mangyshlakdapaul hello, it is definitely in abs mode, the loop function isnt working when i use loop buttons on the cdj...but the "track timer" on the cdj is looping...the buffer size is at maximum.

@BBOYMAHZ can you test the same deck on the sl interface with vinyl? does the needledrop works? what do you mean with "maximum buffer size"? it must be at minimum as possible. i tested it with 10ms, but with 2ms it will work better.

another question: mastertempo on the cdj is off? do you have another cdplayer, like a normal hifiplayer? you can test the searchfunction on this. so then you know that the cdj isn't the problem

Also,sucks that you can't make really short loop noises! How am i supposed to make my own One (by Swedish House Mafia) intro now....?

the cue stutter works, but not so perfectly as with normal cd's. the problem is that it doesn't start perfectly as you can see in the video. if it runs on a fast laptop you can choose a very low usb buffer size. i've tested it with 10ms.
