This is such an incredible performance. I was twelve when this was recorded ... AND in the U.S. ... so I knew NOTHING of "Frumpy" until a couple of years ago when I discovered this great video. I freakin' LOVE this. I always come back and listen to it - and watch it. That Hammond takes my breath away every time I watch.

I wish I could get THIS particular performance on CD for listening in the car. IMO, the studio version just doesn't "do it" like this version does.

@cosmotcat yes, know what you're sayin' but you know what I usually do on such ocasions? I convert uTube video to mp3 and then burn the compilation on audio cd:) you can easly find some software that allows you to do this, no big effort. Cheers!

wenn ich das hier vergleiche mit dem, was mir heutezutage als rockmusik angeboten wird, kann ich nur sagen :

ist das ein jämmerliches geklampfe heute, stümper am instrument, die ihre inkompetenz mit verzerrtem getöse überspielen , sänger/innen mit jallerstimmchen , hau-rein-stampfschlagzeug mit stupidem bum bum bum , grauslich stupide texte, eben billiges gemurkse ohne jegliches musikalisches genie...zusammengebruzzelt für ein musikalisch völlig anspruchsloses publikum .......traurig.

kann ich dir nur beipflichten. habe so manches Konzert, mit Kraan, Frumpy, Grobschnitt...gesehen, was da heute geboten wird ist das Geld nicht wert. In Zeiten von DSDS und dem ganzen Gedönse bin ich gerne hier, oder schmeiß meinen Plattenspieler an.

1980 nahm ich dieses Hammerwerk von FRUMPY an einem Sonntagabend vom "Club-Wunschkonzert" auf NDR 2 mit Günther Fink auf Kassette auf, da war ich ganze 12 Jahre alt und total fasziniert von dieser Musik, da mein Bruderherz diese Songs rauf und runterlaufen ließ. Einzigartiges Zusammenspiel zwischen Jean Jacques Kravetz, Carsten Bohn, Karl-Heinz Schott, dem unvergessenen Rainer Baumann und der unvergleichlichen Inga mit ihrer Riesenstimme. Liebe diesen Song - überhaupt FRUMPY's Musik - total!!

The music is simply awesome, You really have to watch all 9 minutes to "reach the peak"....simply great. Another thing that strikes me, is the quality of the video. The different angles, zoom, focus etc. Excellent video that really compliments the music, in a positive way. Thank god for WDR. Die Besetzung der Platte "Frumpy 2" entspricht wohl sicherlich einer der besten Formationen die wir in Deutschland jemals erleben konnten. Das war absolute Spitzenklasse, und als jemand der in den 80ern geboren ist tut es mir in gewisser Weise Leid, das nicht live miterlebt haben zu können. Aber dennoch möchte ich mich vor Frumpy zutiefst verneigen. Ihr habt mir durch Eure Musik sehr viel gegeben neben Bands wie dem Mahavishnu Orchestra, Return To Forever und anderen. Is THIS particular performance commercially available? I've heard the studio version (record) of 'How The Gypsy Was Born', and while it's good, this live version is so much better. The Hammond is incredible, amazing, astounding, breathtaking ... and so on.

Where might I get this? Would be great in the car ... LOUD.
