  • Good eye but you need to tighten up your editing. It shouldn't take 2 minutes to show only 4 goofs, you could have done it in half the time.

  • I remember statues was so alive in this movie lol xD

  • You'd have to view the film 500 times to see those "goof's", except the moving arm. I remember that.

  • @mike514ml It was 18 months, not 18 years.

  • You missed a major goof. When they blow the hatch on the Icaris the front view windows also blow out. The SFX team used too much explosive and they didn't seal the windows properly. OOPS!

  • these were boring.

  • @nosajj12345 You seem like the definition of boring.

  • Aspect Ratio, Aspect Ratio, ASPECT RATIO! Whats up with the song? How does that fit into this?

  • Aspect Ratio, Aspect Ratio, ASPECT RATIO!

  • its a classic film, plus it was made in 1968. The goofs make it more enjoyable :) plus you would remember it more.

  • nitpicking.

  • i don't remember noticing these goofs when i saw it in 1968.

  • only a few minor goofs. Not bad for a movie made in 1967-68 with a low budget

  • Really??? Camera shadows?? Stop wasting your time and ours!!!

  • @66gamera You wasted your own time, putz. Making a comment about how much time you wasted was a ridiculous waste of more of your precious fucking time.

  • @basketfullofspite It's my time to "waste", just as it was their time to waste, jackass. You just wasted your time on a "putz"?? How fucking smart are you? HA!

  • @basketfullofspite It's my time to waste, just as it was their time to waste, jackass. You just wasted your time on a "putz"?? How fucking smart are you?? HA!

  • @66gamera Then stop bitching. I didn't waste my time..I spent it wisely putting you in your place, jackass.

  • dr.zaieus has 43 YT accounts.

  • Very minor goofs in a very good flick.

  • Troll

  • a couple minor errors in an awesome movie, especially for the period, still one of the top 10 sci-fi, its definitely a classic thats held up against the test of time

  • You left out the biggest goof of all...

    APES...DON'T...TALK!!!

  • @MrMytvc15 not yet.

  • @MrMytvc15 They don't now. but wait until the plague wipes out all the cats and dogs, and people begin to have monkeys as pets, then you will eat your words:)

  • it's not that he's trying to call out the movie on mishaps, they're just goofs. I enjoy goofs because it gives me a different look on what goes into making a film, particularly a film like this that I love. it's like watching a movie again and picking up on certain things like quotes or points that you didn't pick up on the first time you saw it, only goofs aren't as big of a deal as those. but, still. something new.

  • goof #5: Your choice of music for this dumb shite.

goof #6: My choice to click on your link for this clip

goof #7: The store that actually sold you a computer to use for on line purposes.

goof #8: The day you were conceived.

  • this may be the worst video on youtube ;)

  • Chalk this up to someone having too much time on his hands

  • You basically called Planet of the Apes a perfect movie. Go find something else to pick apart. Your glitch/continuity criticism points are lame, and Michael Jackson's song has no place in this whole exercise. Grade: F

  • Goof Number 5 Michael Jackson

  • Who cares about goofs? The movie was fuckin awesome!

  • goes to show "never touch yourself"(let me touch you instead) applys to women as well. could grow fur on your palms.

  • p0wned

  • lame

  • Other than the 1st one, those were weak as hell.

    FAIL!!!

  • I think Obams negress wife was in this movie ...as zera Wow this is the planit of the Apes

  • I laughed when I saw the museum guy move...

  • Wow!!!! do you have too much spare time. Here's a thought; who fucking cares???

  • nice catch but pointless

  • camera shadow.... who cares

  • rip charles, greatest actor ever..

  • @rickdangerwood

You sir are a genius of the highest caliber. I agree with you a hundred percent

  • "Get ur stinkin goofs off me you damned dirty critic!"

  • @Vintagedude NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes there is actually a lot more movement from the actors in the museum. Its all over the shots if you look carefully. If I remember correctly the very first and obvious one is when he just runs into the museum, when they started the shot the one of the actors slips into a position. Still the movie with all its little slips is a classic. Cheers.

  • Shame some people can't just enjoy the films and not go looking for mistakes....Nobody's perfect ....not even film makers...Blooper spotters need to go out more and get a life !!

Some of these were really trite...ohh look a shadow...so fuckin what ?

  • hahaaha .. even though this perfect film had a few (goofs) in it..or whatever...it can never be beaten because they dont have goofs acting in it.

  • Comment removed

  • Really appreciate your keen eye! What fun.

And to myname405---You're wrong about the

"it's vs. its" thing here. It's IS the contraction representing the two words 'it is." So, when you want to say remark about a particular thing that "it is stupid." You can write "It's stupid." (p.s. The word is spelled 'apostrophe.')

  • ACTUALLY THIS IS THE CORRECT SPELLING "Apostrophes".

  • 'Apostrophes' would be the plural version of the word 'apostrophe." So, I really don't get your point. What am I missing here???? (And I'm not being facetious.)

  • i know i just wanted to pretend i was smart too

  • Sorry. You don't have what it takes to pretend to be smart.

Now: Asinine--you got that one covered.

  • The camera shadows are an extreme case of nit picking. The rest? Well, done.

  • wow! That was one incredible display of rivet-counting. Geekhistory really needs to get out of the house more.

  • goofiest part was the disco catwalk music.

  • Thats all you got, really?

  • i wanted to see some tits

  • Why would you say he has too much time on his hands, these were all pretty noticeable when watching the movie :)

  • Good work!

  • They made a lot of mistakes when they faked the Apollo moon photos in New Mexico too. This is nothing compared to them.

  • Too much time on your hands??

  • You have my condolences about the way your mind works. I hope your life gets better.

  • When the spaceship hits the water, the shots of it with and without the hatch blow are out of order, too. And none of this hurts one of the finest movies ever made. can't say that about ST:XI, though...

  • I just watched Beneath Planet of the Apes

and noticed that when Nova and Brent horse back riding in front of the ocean

you can see a small boat is that a boat? or just a mirroring ilussion?

  • Did you notice TAYLOR'S penis was hanging by his knee?

  • Chiose of Music is HORRABLE. I was only impressed by the first bloober. Michael jackson Sucks, and has nothing to do with POTA.

  • its spelled HORRIBLE not HORRABLE... and i beleive if you look, you find numberous refferences to BLOOPERS instead of BLOOBERS. damn kids should graduate from high school before posting... LEARN ENGLISH!

  • It's spelled references, not 'refferences', and believe not 'beleive'. LEARN ENGLISH.

  • I know English, i just need to learn to type while sober... what's DEPARTMENTofPEACEusa's excuse?

plus I was using Microsux IE which doesnt have a built in spellchecker like Firefox.

  • maybe he has the same excuses as you

  • u r stoopid :)

  • its S-T-U-P-I-D

    and yes you are.

  • Maybe you should turn inward and examine yourself, if you didn't see the intended irony. And it is i-t-'-s. Also sentences begin with a capitalized letter.

So before you shoot out at people, make sure you're not what you accuse them of being. Thank you.

  • I - t - ' - s is not short for "it is." The apostrophie in the word "it" shows ownership, such as Bob's car. Stupid does not belong to "it," therefore one does not need the apostrophie when using "its stupid."

  • @myname405 You got that exactly backwards. "Its" shows ownership and "it's" is short for "it is."

  • dude..this was filmed when you wasnt even a thought in your fathers eye.

give it a break..its a classic and its raw message could never be filmed in boring re-use formula Hollywood of today

  • fuck that was filmed in the 60s and u pick on few cam shadows

  • Did you see the goof when the Gorilla is Fu**ing Nova in the cage?

  • gimme a fucking break. that's nothing compared to other movies.

  • better goof:

in the second movie brent fights the gorrila hold reigns riding the carrige. while fighting, the gorrila lets go of the regins but u see an extra pair in the bottom of the carrige with human hands steering it, then brent gets a differnet pair and rides

  • HA LOL NEVER NOTICED IT

    stars *****

  • I haven't checked all the comments but toward the very end of the film when Heston and Harrison are horseback riding, you can clearly see hoofprints in the sand from previous takes.

  • That can be easily explained that the Apes who were already there and destroyed the monument returned for some monkey bars. Something like that. Hence Taylor being armed with his rifle in its sheath attached to the horse.

  • It is mid day in the next to last scene where Taylor bids goodbye to the apes and rides off up the beach with Nova. In the final scene on the beach with the Statue of Liberty, the shadows are long and coming from the ocean, which would be east. The sun is low in the east in the morning, not the evening. Maybe the atomic explosion blew the Statue of Liberty the whole way to the west coast.

  • The was filmed in Malibu California.

  • The lady astronaut's hands cold be down at her side as the ship is tilting downward!

  • dead people, if u movie their arms it will break off cause she is hundreds of years old

  • I think you missed a couple of goofs:

At ~ 7:20 into the film, the 1st external shot of the ship in the water clearly shows the escape hatch missing. This despite the fact they haven't blown it yet?!?

Also, the film shows the Statue of Liberty unusually up to her armpits in sand -- surely some mistake here... ; )

  • Yes, I noticed that continuity flub with the hatch and windows blown out prematurely. Apparently the editor decided there should be an establishing shot of the ship in the water at that point, but that was the only shot available.

As for Lady Liberty being buried in sand and rock, natural features like coastlines do change over time. Maybe the nuclear holocaust that wiped out human civilization could have changed the geography also.

  • I'm surprised you say this about the continuity. There's at least one external shot (the 2nd one), where the escape hatch is in place. Also -- all these shots are worked out well in advance, and they normally shoot more footage than required. Strange if what you say is true...

My comment about the statue of liberty was very tongue in cheek. You're right, that's exactly what's supposed to of happened after a nuclear attack.

  • Never saw those in the 100+ times I've watched this classic. Thanks

  • sad news Charlton Heston died on Saturday at his home in Beverly Hills.

  • i think Taylor is cool....

  • what music is this

  • At the beginning of the film, when Taylor and his crew are trekking out of the forbidden zone, Taylor's backpack disappears and reappears between shots.

  • The only real goofs in here were the shadows.

    The others are intentional features.

The "dead" woman in the pod was only "mostly" dead. She covered her chest out of surprise when all the guys were looking at her.

The moving "statue" was another astronaut from a different mission. He was hiding in the display from another set of gorillas who were chasing him.

  • I laughed

  • When Taylor escapes from his cage and hits Julius over the head with the baton, Julius's head is in profile in the wide shot but between the bars in the close up.

  • All movies have continuity errors & goofs. No such thing as a perfect film.

Even Spielberg's movies have these!!!!! Nuff said!

  • @kevster1976 I agree and some filmmakers (amateurs really) are so obsessed with making their films "flawless" they become stale and boring which is a cardinal sin of film.

  • Hey, great idea! Great music! I noticed this creepy scene with Steward too. Is she a zombie or what?!? Thank You for the video^^

  • Would be better without the music. Incongruous match.

  • Meh. I wouldn't call these "goofs" really. Fuck, it was 1960 or whatever. Most people wouldn't notice these minor details. But good eye.

  • Pretty trivial. I was hoping for some boom mikes.

  • wow i think stewart was still alive !!!! just real ugly.

  • Highly enlightening congratualations, hats off..

  • Alpha

    The song is

    Hi Tack -Say say say

  • What is this song? I like it some.

  • goofs

  • Hated the music but liked the video.

  • Wow, you really watched the movie closely. Good job with the camera shadows!
