Great video, I have set everything up as it should be but I get no sound from vocaloid. The playhead on FL goes through my song on vocaloid when I press play but there's just no sound from it.
To those who are getting rewire no found errors or pocaloid2 missing from rewire, reboot windows and it should be fine.
@vocaloid0miku do you have any patterns or automatation on your songboard? If not, it will only play until the set marker on the songboard time line. Vocaloid starts four tacts later than fl studio, those are the four grey tacts in your vocaloid editor. On the songboard above the tracks field there should be a dark bar with the tact numbers klick on it anywhere to have your song progress that far even without patterns or automatation. right or left click, I forgot which one, just try both.
Everything seems to follow through when I try it, setting it up is fairly easy but when I try to get vocaloid to play on fl after everything is said and done, no vocaloid voice is heard, and in the vocaloid (and fl studio) all it does is play the first measure (where in Vocaloid it's black'd out) and so I don't know how to fix it... help?
Sounds to me as if you don't have any patterns on your songboard, is that correct?
You don't nescessaryly need any patterns in your FL-Studio song to have it work with Vocaloid, but FL-Studio won't recognize the lengh of our vocaloid song by itself, so what you do, you open your songboard and scroll to the tect that correspondes to the last tact of your vocaloid song or further and I think you left-click the bar with the tact numbers just above where you input your patterns or maby right-click.
@K1m0chi very well. Go to the video at 4:04 and pause.
the biggest open window is the songboard, here you can dragdrop your patterns and replay your song.
the darkest, grey-blue bar with the numbers 1 2 3 4 a.s.o indicates what tact you are on.
between 12 and 13 there is a small light grey box with an arrow in it. That indicates how far FL studio will play, regardless of whether patterns are on the songboard or not. If patterns go past that point, this will also be the repetition point...
@K1m0chi Look in your vocaloid 2 editor, at which tact your song ends. Go back to FL studio and your songboard. Now move ahead to the tact you have looked up + 4 more tacts. Rightclick or Leftclick (I don't remember, just try both^^) the dark blue grey bar at that tact and the song will play till then.
@Kentai92 ah, now I get it.. I need to right click and drag from the last tact to the first to make the selection.. Now it works well.. Thank you Kentai ^^
@paperkirby23 after you pressed yes to the "Send track info to rewire?", did you wait a few seconds and press play again, so the play button was inlined?
I did everything that explained but there's a problem in my Vocaloid2. When I pressed the play button, it always appeared a warning sign like "ReWire,............!" (actually the "..." happened to be in Japanese). Is there something wrong with my Vocaloid2?
i have a problem with making my vocaloid sing. i accidently double clicked the part where the play and pause button and then it popped out as a screen and then i exited it but then my play and pause button disappeared. im using the demo rin and len so everything is in japanese. another thing is that when try to get into vocaloid2 with miku(non-demo) all it says is this.

@derkwizzerds101 Well you should set your editor to english first then and check again. To do that I think you'll have to delete all .dll files in the vocaloid folders that include 'japanese' in their name. It has been a many month since I last did that, so I'm not a 100% sure, be sure to make backups, but I think this is how it works.
@Kentai92 im sorry i wont stop asking you XD but now it says all my vsqs are made of nothing and when i hit the play button it wouldn't play. i should've asked this earlier. maybe its because i deleted those japanese .dll files. srry!
@derkwizzerds101 hm, I'm sorry, but since I haven't encounterede that problem before I don't know what to do about it other than trying to reinstall. I am terribly sorry^^
to avoid errors remember to install voice banks in the order in which they have been released.
-For Windows Xp, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VOCALOID2\DATABASE\VOICE\BMMM8HPZFWTHTMC7 -For Vista/7, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VOCALOID2\DATABASE\VOICE\BMMM8HPZFWTHTMC7
-In the BMMM8HPZFWTHTMC7 folder locate the file name "INSTALLED" right click it and select "Modify..."
-Change the value data into "2" and click Ok.
NOTE:BMMM8HPZFWTHTMC7 could turn into anything.(sorry for my bad english)
@andryzx1 thank you very much! Now there's one problem. I still can't open VOCALOID2 and I can finally open VOCALOID2 DEMO but I accidently deleted the play button by double-clicking it, which turned it into a pop-up screen, and then I closed it. Now I can't even make my DEMO Append Rin and Len sing! :D D:
@clodiux try rightclicking somewhere far ahead. You can't move the song position past the last pattern added. If there are no patterns on your songboard you can't set past the beginning. However if you move the repeat marker ahead by rightclicking the small gry tact bar right above the part of the songboard where you add your patterns (the big ones, not the small ones), you can move the songposition until that point, wherever you put it.
Thanks! This seems pretty useful. I have yet to test it out. I have to admit I would find it easier just to make a song in FL Studio and put the notes into Vocaloid and then splice the two, but I'm sure I'll end up using this at some point! Which method do you think would be easier?
@8MKWeb8 bith fine, but I like this version better, because you can equalize vocaloid in real-time. Dunno, I feel that realtime equalization of the midi output is more HQ than equalizing the exported wave file. There probably is no big difference though.
That error comes up with Vocaloid. Also, when I try to use ReWire, the import tempo in the Vocaloid Editor is blanked out, and the version I'm on on is 2.06.14. When I try tp use ReWire on Vocaloid, I get a Database error and have to close reinstall it.

@Sodisna install FL studio into a new folder, go to the plugins folder and there to rewire, coppy the dll files and paste them into the same folder of the installation of FL studio you actually work with. that might do the trick.
I keep on getting EOSerror whenever i press the play button on FL studio. I have followed everything on it, and made sure that the play button on vocaloid2 is inlined. It just wont work :(
Although it has been helpful so far (I got Vocaloid to show up in FLS), I can't play the voice bause FL won't let me select the fourth tact...I'm doing something wrong, I just can't figure out what (as I did everything you said in the toturial)...
I could ,but now I figured out that it will only play the vocals if I draw in the main automation track, beginning in bar four and going all the way to the end. then again that isn't displayed in the tutorial...If I don't draw that automation track it won't go to the fourth tact but jump back to the beginning after the first tact.
@theLooneyLibrarian that sounds like you don't have any patterns on your songboard. If you don't, naturally FL will think, that there is nothing to be played. It can't recognize, that there is going to be output from Vocaloid, because that comes in in real time.
To still have FL play the songboard without any patterns, just right-click somewhere on the tact bar. The dark blue-grey bar far up on the songboard, where the tact numbers are displayed. FL will play your song till that point.
@Zarathefirebender do not press the ReWire button, press the play button, so thatz it is inlined. If you do not press the play button in the Vocaoid 2 editor prior to playing the song in FL studio, then it should work. The error message you described comes usually if you don't follow those steps.
thanks very much for the tutorial, the only problem I encounter is that I can only hear the track from vocaloid editor only when I press "render all". no big deal... just take a bit more time..... can get annoying after every small tweak.....
@Annamaruska ok, open FL studio first and open your project, then vocaloid 2 editor. Open your vocaloid file or write a new melody. There has to be some notes.
press the play button in Vocaloid 2 and it should rewire. after it has, press play again, the button should now be inlined.
now you can play your song in fl studio with vocaloid 2 rewired.
if not and it says "can not find ReWire" or something you should copy a fresh rewire dll into your rewire plugin folder.
@0Talie0 Usually this problem is resolved by rendering all tracks in the vocaloid 2 editor, then pressing play before you compile the mp3 in FL-Studio.
@tady159 Oh boy. Well after you clicked Ok on ReWire, did you wait a moment and clicked play in the Vocaloid 2 Editor, so that the play button is inlined?
improbable though that that causes your problem.
My best guess is that there are plugin conflicts.
try ReWireing with a blank FL studio project, with no instruments or plugins and look whether it works then. If not:
reinstall FL Studio and see if that does the trick.
if not:
reinstall Vocaloid 2 and see if that does the trick.
i did everything you said on the Video but when i rewire i dont hear anything, nothing but AIR and when i open Vocaloid 2 i see the white line traveling but only up to -2 how do i write miku's voice in areas i cant write? please let me know
@SeiferKai Most probably you don't have much music written yet in fl-studio? go to your songboard and rightclick the line indicating which tact you are in and drag the repeat button far ahead.
Only after the 5th tact is played in fl-studio the first, writable tact in the vocaloid editor is played as well.
You can not write in the first four tacts of your vocaloid editor, it is a blocked area.
If you want the singing in your song to start from tact 1, just start the whole song in fl-studio
@SeiferKai in the fourth tact and cut the beginning with audacity or so after the song is done. Or you mark the partts of the song you want to compile only.
If you do that and the vocaloid voice is supposed to come right from the start, click "Render All" in the Vocaloid Editor.
@winxcat It is a program for making music. It enables you to sequence many recorded instruments and instrument generators as well as synthetic sounds together and equalize them with very high quality.
But there are other programs with that capability too.
Some are free, some are not. (fruity loops sadly isn't one of the free programs though)
@winxcat as a matter of fact I do only write original songs (even my scarborough fair interpretation is at least 60% original xD), so I use fruity loops always when writing vocaloid songs.
But the main reason I have to use fruity loops is that the vocaloids really need the equalizing sorely.
hey nice tut... i just want to ask about this problem i encountered... I followed all the steps in your tutorial and "i actually got vocaloid to be rewired with FL studio", my only problem is when i started to play it, all that i can hear is a series of "click" sounds also when i looked at vocaloid it only loops on the -3 blank part of vocaloid. what could possibly be wrong? or is there something i have to change in the FL settings?
@clowblue Well I can't be sure, but when I encounter click sounds while rewiring it usually is for this reason:
The song loops one tact before the vocaloid singing part starts, so directly before the loop the program tries to import vocaloid but already shifts back thus all you hear is a click.
Always be aware ot the fact, that the vocaloid singers can only start with the fith tact of your song, never the first.
If you want singing from the start, start the whole song from the fith tact.
Can I ask a question? Your tutorial has helped me a lot, but what do you do when you want to rewire with FL studio when your song has multiple tempo changes?
@MilkmanConspiracy Tempochanges are very tough to implement with vocaloid.
In the end you will have to make a proper automatation clip with fl studio. Idealy you should make a terrace automatation curve instead of a round curve, because that is REALLY tough to handle.
Then go to the appropreate tact in your Vocaloid 2 Editor and change the tempo setting on the top.
You can have multiple tempos in vocaloid as an option of the vocaloid 2 editor.
i realized a lot was missing from my FL installation because simply copying the folders from a backup installation didnt work o_o so i uninstalled, reinstalled, and now everything works fine *_* i got it to work exactly like the video XD thank you very much!
ok i did what was said in the video, but when i reach the point where i choose VOCALOID2 from the drop down list i get 'none' *-* you seem to have ASIO and fruity loops along with the vocaloid2 but i dont see it on mine :o i've had it working sometime before but after deleting and then re-installing vocaloid2 i just couldnt seem to get it to work again ; ; any ideas? thank you very much for the video *o* ~
did you properly set vocaloid to rewire? After doing that click play and it will probably not work. Open fl studio, close vocaloid editor, make a new rewire channel and try now selecting vocaloid. If it doesn't work your Rewire.dll is probably damaged. That can happen through improper handling of the two applications from time to time.
For that case install a backup version of FL-Sudio and copy the new intact rewire.dll into your existing fl-studiofolder.
In my opinion Flstudio is alot better when dealing with vocaloid (you could also buy cubase which i think has plug in for vocaloid but idk :P ive never used it...
It wasn't available for rewire at all @_@ so i realized something must have gone wrong with my FL XD i uninstalled and then re-installed along with fresh plugins and settings (after taking a look at the directory, a lot was missing from the previous one!) so now i tried your way and it worked perfectly *_* thank you very much!
it also automatically found VOCALOID (the first one) but i haven't taken a look at it yet *-*
belive me before i had fl studio i've tried time and time again but there isnt a way to rewire. ( that i know of a tleast)
The only way i was able to get vocaloid to work was to import a midi file from magix into vocaloid of what notes you want her to (sing that went with the music) / type in the words / save it as a wav file
/ drag it into magix to fit with your song. (i might upload a tutorial later to show you what i mean)
Is it possible to rewire Vocaloid3?? I can't seem to find the rewire option in the audio settings.

Annamaruska 1 year ago
@Annamaruska ok, open FL studio first and open your project, then vocaloid 2 editor. Open your vocaloid file or write a new melody. There has to be some notes.
press the play button in Vocaloid 2 and it should rewire. after it has, press play again, the button should now be inlined.
now you can play your song in fl studio with vocaloid 2 rewired.
if not and it says "can not find ReWire" or something you should copy a fresh rewire dll into your rewire plugin folder.

When I play the song in Fl, I can hear the voice, but when I export it as an MP3, all I get is the music. What did I do wrong?
0Talie0 1 year ago
@0Talie0 Usually this problem is resolved by rendering all tracks in the vocaloid 2 editor, then pressing play before you compile the mp3 in FL-Studio.

what do I do??? I click ok to rewire the vocaloid, but when I click play on FL, the computer says that happened an error, an the FL is closed
tady159 1 year ago
@tady159 Oh boy. Well after you clicked Ok on ReWire, did you wait a moment and clicked play in the Vocaloid 2 Editor, so that the play button is inlined?
improbable though that that causes your problem.
My best guess is that there are plugin conflicts.
try ReWireing with a blank FL studio project, with no instruments or plugins and look whether it works then. If not:
reinstall FL Studio and see if that does the trick.
if not:
reinstall Vocaloid 2 and see if that does the trick.

thank you, you been most helpful now i just need to figure out how to make miku sing and im all set
SeiferKai 1 year ago
i did everything you said on the Video but when i rewire i dont hear anything, nothing but AIR and when i open Vocaloid 2 i see the white line traveling but only up to -2 how do i write miku's voice in areas i cant write? please let me know
SeiferKai 1 year ago
@SeiferKai Most probably you don't have much music written yet in fl-studio? go to your songboard and rightclick the line indicating which tact you are in and drag the repeat button far ahead.
Only after the 5th tact is played in fl-studio the first, writable tact in the vocaloid editor is played as well.
You can not write in the first four tacts of your vocaloid editor, it is a blocked area.
If you want the singing in your song to start from tact 1, just start the whole song in fl-studio
Kentai92 1 year ago
@SeiferKai in the fourth tact and cut the beginning with audacity or so after the song is done. Or you mark the partts of the song you want to compile only.
If you do that and the vocaloid voice is supposed to come right from the start, click "Render All" in the Vocaloid Editor.

what is fruity loops.... do i really need to download it and learn how to use it?......
winxcat 1 year ago
@winxcat It is a program for making music. It enables you to sequence many recorded instruments and instrument generators as well as synthetic sounds together and equalize them with very high quality.
But there are other programs with that capability too.
Some are free, some are not. (fruity loops sadly isn't one of the free programs though)

@Kentai92 oh. coz i use cubase on another pc. but i didnt need it for miku... do u use it with VOCALOID only if u wanna add original synth music
winxcat 1 year ago
@winxcat as a matter of fact I do only write original songs (even my scarborough fair interpretation is at least 60% original xD), so I use fruity loops always when writing vocaloid songs.
But the main reason I have to use fruity loops is that the vocaloids really need the equalizing sorely.

¿What this Serial Number to download of vocaloid Please?

hey nice tut... i just want to ask about this problem i encountered... I followed all the steps in your tutorial and "i actually got vocaloid to be rewired with FL studio", my only problem is when i started to play it, all that i can hear is a series of "click" sounds also when i looked at vocaloid it only loops on the -3 blank part of vocaloid. what could possibly be wrong? or is there something i have to change in the FL settings?
clowblue 1 year ago
@clowblue Well I can't be sure, but when I encounter click sounds while rewiring it usually is for this reason:
The song loops one tact before the vocaloid singing part starts, so directly before the loop the program tries to import vocaloid but already shifts back thus all you hear is a click.
Always be aware ot the fact, that the vocaloid singers can only start with the fith tact of your song, never the first.
If you want singing from the start, start the whole song from the fith tact.

works now... my FL was set to play "metronomes" hahaha cant believe i didnt check it... thanks for the tut... work fine now... ^_^

Can I ask a question? Your tutorial has helped me a lot, but what do you do when you want to rewire with FL studio when your song has multiple tempo changes?
MilkmanConspiracy 1 year ago
@MilkmanConspiracy Tempochanges are very tough to implement with vocaloid.
In the end you will have to make a proper automatation clip with fl studio. Idealy you should make a terrace automatation curve instead of a round curve, because that is REALLY tough to handle.
Then go to the appropreate tact in your Vocaloid 2 Editor and change the tempo setting on the top.
You can have multiple tempos in vocaloid as an option of the vocaloid 2 editor.
I hope that could help.

where did my comment go? @_@ anyway XD
i realized a lot was missing from my FL installation because simply copying the folders from a backup installation didnt work o_o so i uninstalled, reinstalled, and now everything works fine *_* i got it to work exactly like the video XD thank you very much!

you are very welcome. Enjoy!

ok i did what was said in the video, but when i reach the point where i choose VOCALOID2 from the drop down list i get 'none' *-* you seem to have ASIO and fruity loops along with the vocaloid2 but i dont see it on mine :o i've had it working sometime before but after deleting and then re-installing vocaloid2 i just couldnt seem to get it to work again ; ; any ideas? thank you very much for the video *o* ~
renoa0heartilly 1 year ago
did you properly set vocaloid to rewire? After doing that click play and it will probably not work. Open fl studio, close vocaloid editor, make a new rewire channel and try now selecting vocaloid. If it doesn't work your Rewire.dll is probably damaged. That can happen through improper handling of the two applications from time to time.
For that case install a backup version of FL-Sudio and copy the new intact rewire.dll into your existing fl-studiofolder.
copy all 'rewire' named files to be save
Kentai92 1 year ago
In my opinion Flstudio is alot better when dealing with vocaloid (you could also buy cubase which i think has plug in for vocaloid but idk :P ive never used it...
sasukeninjagal 2 years ago
It wasn't available for rewire at all @_@ so i realized something must have gone wrong with my FL XD i uninstalled and then re-installed along with fresh plugins and settings (after taking a look at the directory, a lot was missing from the previous one!) so now i tried your way and it worked perfectly *_* thank you very much!
it also automatically found VOCALOID (the first one) but i haven't taken a look at it yet *-*

will be the same in magic music maker?
MarQchisan 2 years ago 2
no sadly ^__^ that would make everything a tad easier though lols
sasukeninjagal 2 years ago
@sasukeninjagal well the order and way it works should be the same. Though you'll have to find out how to add a rewire device in magic music maker.
I am sorry, I only have expertise with fruity loops.
Kentai92 2 years ago
belive me before i had fl studio i've tried time and time again but there isnt a way to rewire. ( that i know of a tleast)
The only way i was able to get vocaloid to work was to import a midi file from magix into vocaloid of what notes you want her to (sing that went with the music) / type in the words / save it as a wav file
/ drag it into magix to fit with your song. (i might upload a tutorial later to show you what i mean)
sasukeninjagal 2 years ago
awsome this will help alot

GaizerDragon 2 years ago
@GaizerDragon hrhr, yeah I had a few, but this one is the best. It fits the program so well.
also thank you for the nice feedback. You should definieatly try it!
Realtime equalizing can bring your vocaloid composing to a whole new level.
and how you do that exactly will be in the next tut xD
