  • Who the fuck is gonna use cold frosting

  • She looks a little scared....like the cameraman is going to bite her or something...

  • fuck u girl meg ray i can make my cake how ever we want

  • You're doing it all wrong. Your cake was not level. ;o

  • i hate how they wast food show us what we already do gosh

  • I like her voice =)

  • finally someone who holds the offset spat properly.

  • Dungarees. You're doing it all wredneck!

  • Cake is cake. Its gonna be destroyed either way. :L

  • "Make sure you always go in one direction" and while frosting she goes in one direction then back for a couple of centimeters and then back in the other way.. cool

  • @JoesPlaying

OMG you're so childish, always bitching something small

  • @jojobacha "Don't tell others to do something you wouldn't do" in this case, "wouldn't do" turns to "aren't doing" ..bitch.

  • The "right" cake looks terrible. It has no character or creativity! It looks like she just bought one from the supermarket.

  • @BATTLESTAR42 she was teaching people how to frost a cake. it's not like she was going to make a wedding cake or something like that....

  • @BATTLESTAR42 knowing how to properly finish your cake shows quality and dedication because you took the time to make the outside look just as good as the insides will taste. Just because your grammy's old cake looked like it was sat on doesn't make it more "creative" nor does it give it "more character"

  • dun call my cake ugly shes beautiful :(

  • Cause you know, I always put roses on my cake before I eat them for myself.

  • if you speak like gman... your doing it all wrong

  • As long as some cake and frosting both make it into my mouth at the same time, I think I'm doing it pretty damn right.

  • @UnknownParticles hahaha I laugh :D

  • you didnt cut off the dome you dumbass

  • Right and wrong are points of view, Anakin...

  • When she said crumb coat, did anyone else expect someone to say "what's a crumb coat"

  • to much chocolate dumb bitch

  • The kithcen is no place for a perfectionist dumb bitch

  • Ehm, what do they do with all the "wrongs" when they're done with the videos? Do they throw them away? Do they eat them? Do they have a cake orgy?

  • what jackass would frost a cake right out of the oven? I mean, wow. You'd have to be a few eggs short of a dozen to do that.

  • o.o that tool looks like the knife i use for oil paintings xD

  • I WANNA SHOVE THAT WRONG CAKE IN MY FACE!! :3

  • @MyBubblyBintea me too dear, me too. xD

  • @mikoscience bake me a wrong cake, lets do it :D xD

  • like like in chemistry like sticks to like

  • For the second layer I like to use a spatula which has been dipped in warm water.

  • THESE PEOPLE WASTE SO MUCH FOOOOOD!!

  • I like the crumb coat method and putting it in the fridge. Thanks, good tips, but I still don't have the right tools...better get them.

  • cake murderer

  • ... that ugly cake looks delicious

  • @Diabl0III fuck u meg ray the lady on chow says the cake is messed up

  • You wasted 3 cakes.

  • were can i by a cake spatuler.

  • this video is kinda annoying, you CAN frost a cake without the cake board, revolving cakestand, offset spatula, it may not look as perfect as her cake, but come on, if you wanted your cake to be perfectly frosted as in the ones you get from a bakery, you'd get the cake from the bakery instead of baking and frosting it yourself, anyway a homebaked cake tastes better, and the not perfect look is just part of the charm :)

  • Cake Board? Really?

  • Yeeeah, only - you could do that exactly as good with a regular table knife and without thet rotation thing.

  • The wrong cake is black. Racist bitch...

  • Her crumb coat looks better than any frosting I've attempted :/

  • okay nobody STABS a cake with a spatula -____-

  • omg they waste so much food D:<

  • i like the wrong cakes

  • When she says "Now I'm going to show you the right way to frost a cake" she looks like she can barely contain the joy inside her

  • Wow, this video really helped. Instead of doing the "wrong" way, I just went out and bought a cake! Thanks!

  • bitch please

  • how to frost a cake:

    -put frosting on cake

    -spread frosting

    -???

    -profit

  • But i like my cake warm, soft, and fresh from the oven. I dont like cold, hard cake >.<

  • When i looked at the finished probuct closely... it's lopsided

  • The cake is a lie.

  • @masterminded78 what?

  • id rather watch howcast

  • at least she isn't as fucking loud as the nacho lady

  • I just frosted a room temp. cake with a rubber spatula and the end result looks fantastic, it's all about your technique!

  • @wildredrose99 yes its all about your technique, but talking professionally wise you dont use a rubber spatula

  • Hey!!!... HEY!!!!! you're doing it ALL WRONG!!!!

  • i couldnt help but to clap at the end

  • i use the back of a rounded mesaurement spoon to frost with

  • @chow I wish you would filter out the lewd remarks.

  • @sansviedo-No one on earth? Literally? I would say, from my experience, that most inexperienced would-be cooks and cake makers have made at least one of these mistakes, at least once. Many mediocre cake frosters, persistently use inferior tools, and don't worry about it since it still tastes delicious. I would also say that this video very realistically depicts common "wrong" cake-frosting examples, as I have done each, and seen others do the same.

  • All she needs is a little lipstick and a touch of brow pencil and a simple blephero.

  • Thanks old Jessica Biel.

  • I would like to give her a nice smooth shiny finish

  • Hepful info,Thanks!

  • wow i like her to cool my cake

  • love the wrong examples, they're so funny.

  • i wanna eat it. NOW

  • how do you make the frosting soft, more milk?

  • @turkeyman64

    Double boiler.

  • those are actually pretty good tips!

People might listen to CHOW more if they weren't so smug...

  • Stupid commercials

  • Woah, I want to try a cake like this. Australian homemade cakes are quite different to this.

  • 0:01

  • awesome tips!!!!!!

  • Omg, this helps SO much! The first time my friend and I wanted to bake a cake, it turned out TERRIABLE!! Pretty much like the cake in the begining, lol! Thanks a bunch!

  • if your cake is crooked, your doing it all wrong !

  • I feel like they try to make "the wrong way" look especially bad. i mean, what average person uses that kind of frosting anyways?

  • i do it the "wrong way" and it turns out like the "right way" finishing result?

  • well i think it is rather good compared to others that make it look difficult, she made it look easy, you would be suprised what people use to frost a cake so she has made it idiot proof as well nice one.

  • Very helpful information.. many thanks

  • who in their right mind would frost a cake with their ordinary kitchen knife?

  • She is hot. I'd do her. And then eat the cake.

  • @leopower7 How do you remove a comment....?

  • @leopower7 - Too Late! Now she knows you wanna taster her vanilla frosting! HA HA HA HA H AH!~!!!!

  • how to be so stupid to be not able to frost a cake lame vid

  • Milf

  • i got some frosting you can eat..

  • jzzing on a cake is easier

  • Hows bout, tke some cake in one hand, handful of frosting in other...and fucking pig out?

  • the bad looks like the way I do whipped cream with ice cream :P

  • i'd frost her cake.

  • that background music is raw!!

  • If you don't have an revolving cake stand, this will not work!!!

  • nicely done, but the cake is not levelled

  • who have all the tools.? geee... Give examples using ordenary kitchen tools..

  • i dunno, i've frosted a cake like that - totally fucked.

    excellent video<3

  • what the fuck, am I supposed to have a revolving thingy in my house in order to frost a cake right?

  • any self respecting cook will not frost a cake when it is warm, or with cold frosting.

  • how does a butter knife not have finesse?

I'm sorry but a butter knife would work fine.

  • @Vid

While I never made the mistakes she mentioned,... some of those makes me think that, anyone who did make those mistakes obviously grew up around parents who did not cook.

Anyways color me impressed, I just learned something none the less.

  • awesome advice about the 2 layers!

  • I honestly was not trying to be rude. Half of the things on this channel are not things that I expected to learn here. I honestly expected some more difficult things. The only thing I learned that wasn't something that seemed obvious happened to be the frosting rose thing. I was pretty sure that frosting a cake while it was still hot was a bad idea to begin with...trust me I've done it before, when I was like 10.

  • @ellichan I agree, some of the videos are great. But a lot of the how tos are so basic, its kind of depressing. Even if one wants to argue that they didnt know not to frost a hot cake. The fact that Im told my frosting needs to "spreadable". Really? (Dont get me wrong, I like the Chow channel, but the how tos just tend to be very basic)

  • @ellichan watch something esle then.

  • ...this is obvious stuff that could easily be learned by trial and error or just by using Google.

  • @ellichan hey, when you use google, what will you find? This.

I didn't know how to do this. Now I do. Purpose served. please leave internet.

  • @latewire best comment ever

  • I'm pretty sure the first example would have still tasted good... and would have been eaten in a matter of seconds

  • awesome***

  • THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!

  • Tell that to chow tips. Oh wait...

  • you're such a skank

  • Literally no one on earth has ever frosted a cake like your "wrong" example. At least try to be a -little- realistic with the "wrong" final result.

  • @sansviedotcom i have!

  • @sansviedotcom me. a very long time ago.

  • @sansviedotcom Nah.. I tried with a really hot cake and it was like, frosting-infused, but really soggy. It was delicious but messy lol

  • @sansviedotcom you'll be really surprised. high school kids REALLY do shitty frosting like this LMAO

  • @sansviedotcom How do you know that nobody on EARTH has frosted a cake like the wrong example? You don't know everyone on the planet! SO THERE!

  • @eparra Prove it

  • @sansviedotcom I have actually make a cake close to like that. But not because of these reasons in the video, I whipped the cream a bit too long so the water started to separate and become runny. Trial and error, now I know better.

  • @sansviedotcom I have, my mother, family, friends-EVERYONE has.

  • @sansviedotcom Tch, I'd like to see you do better.

  • @sansviedotcom yea...its not like I'v ever done that..hehe..

  • @sansviedotcom "literally no one"? Well, Friend, "sansintellect", you're quite wrong, there. When I was a boy, I both saw and actually participated in wrongful frosting incidents.

But, all things frosting quite aside, good thing your strongly dogmatic nature is quite overcome by your lack of knowledge and plain ignorance, . . . as is sometimes said of your kind: "If he knew anything, he would be dangerous.".

  • @sansviedotcom whats wrong with it? its looks good. how is it wrong?

  • @sansviedotcom I would do that

  • hmm thanks i needed this tip

  • the other cakes were a waste of food

  • the cake you used in your example was far too thick and had a dome top. i would have cut that off.

  • beautiful

  • she got the skill i will say :)

  • beautiful

  • Thanks, I need to do this next time...

  • she gots the skillz

  • yummm

  • umm how do bake it without the hump.... like my cakes always have a mountain on them .. do i cut it off .. and how ??? how can i avoid that ...Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • @nav177 good question, I have that problem too

  • @nav177 cut it off with a serrated knife hw it happens, i don't know, how to stop it, ditto haven't the foggiest

  • @nav177 your not only one because at professional bakery's the same thing happens

and yes you can just cut off and have it for a snake later

  • @mattmax11 oh i love having things for snakes

  • @AurumDigger WTF

  • Yummy!

  • OMG!!!! LUSH

  • OMG soy sauce!

  • OMG that looks very delicious!
