Yes and lost the plot. The SC were always a very average band unless they stayed within the northern soul big brass sound - shout top the top, solid bond, walls come tumbling down. changing moods etc Nothing the Jam couldn't have done with more panache and "Style" this attempt to tune into the youth of the eighties backfired badly..how long did respond last till it went under 2 years 3 how many hits....all from Tracie nuff said.

@jenkcam It's important to not ignore the fact that people move on, evolve, change. Paul Weller was, it seems, through working with the Jam and wanted to do something else. Working relationships can be difficult to maintain, especially within a creative, personal context. Imagine dealing with some of your co-workers for several years - it can become dismal.

Not every SC song is great but a lot are very good, and thats much more than most, especially for someone his age.

My Style Councils were all imports too. Yikes! But worth the price because I still listen to them. There are so many Weller fans out in the Internet hinterlands and Paul is known for his aversion to computerization so he probably doesn't even know about all these ardent fans of his, 'tis a shame, don't you think? I got The Complete Adventures of The Style Council and it has all the lyrics, and a 112 page booklet. Very cool..
