It's a hard fact of life and numerous reports by Transparency International and the likes have all listed Afghanistan as one of the most corrupt countries on Earth. Sad, but true. only about 5% of the population will see this. 80-90% of afghans don't have a TV and if they do, don't have any channels. The only ones who will watch this is in the major areas, like Kabul and cities in Kandahar.

No, Dari just happens to be the official main language because the ANA and government is mostly Tajik, the natives of the land the Pashtun make up about 40% of the population, they speak Pashtu, the Tajik make up about 25-30%, they speak Dari. The other minorities speak other languages. Why do you think that the ANA have different language interpreters for one batch of soldiers. I come from that part of the world (Pakistan, on the border with Afghanistan), so i pretty know a bit.

I just read it and i see no evidence of it being true, the pdf gives you a statistic, but it doesn't cite it's origins, only say's library of Congress; Federal Research Division, and if a serve was conducted by the creator(FRD) of the pdf, it doesn't show the actual survey and it's error margins, which every survey has. I don't know where they got that stat from but i hold it to extreme skepticism.

On top of all that,I have even more doubt it is true, simply because it is conducted by the FRD. which is a government controlled research group and it is common knowledge that the US Congress supports the Tajik, more so than the Pashtun, whom the majority of Congress and Senate consider Taliban and Al-Qaeda sympathizers.This is proven true by the ANA and ANP, which is mostly run by Tajik and Hazara tribes, and Pashtun members are systematically singled out as potential traitors.

Persian has always been the lingua franca of Afghanistan, and the elite Pashtun tribes, namely the Durranis have been largely Persianized and so have Pashtuns who have lived in Ghazni, Herat, Mazare Sharif and Kabul. You have made a claim so where is your source?

I never said that the Tajik weren't natives of the land. Let me clarify, the southern Afghans are mostly native Pashtuns, the northern Afghans are mostly native Tajik, with Uzbeks being migrants from north east Asia. What i meant by native was the southern regions, where majority of the Pashtun live.

As for a source, the truth is, there hasn't been a proper survey conducted in Afghanistan, simply because the surveyors are to afraid or are unable to go to different provinces and simply don't have the means to conduct a proper survey. Why? because they have to do the survey by hand, which handicaps them, because 70% of Afghani is farmers with no internet connection, we can only speculate. I've only talked through experience, and from what i have gathered from here and there.
