I came to YouTube to search for this band and read generous comments about how awesome Red is, not a religious debate ruining the atmosphere listening to Red's music sets. If you have nothing nice to say, don't touch your keyboard, instead, turn up the volume and commence headbanging.
Why must it always be about those for God and those against? Personally I have respect for religions but don't follow them as I don't believe God exists. That's my opinion and I am entitled to it, what's the point of arguing needlessly when most likely neither opinion will be swayed? Just enjoy the song and take whatever meaning from it that you like.

That's also a flawed logic. Something our ego's created, would not demand us to sacrifice our egos, and put them aside to follow themselves. That's illogical. I agree with @Llawliet246. All art, especially music, can be interpreted in different ways depending on the listener/viewer. I, for example, read this song as a pro-gay rights song, because of lines like "How did we forget that we don't have to hide?", "We'll never believe the lies again", "We won't be denied", "We won't hide our faces from the light, eliminate the space between us", and the most obvious one, "It's who we are, we are forever". Think about it for a minute if you disagree.
@TobiTehMajyk That's basically what I said. Different people would interpret the song in different ways based on their individual thoughts and beliefs. Being gay, I heard it as a gay rights song. But, as a fan of Marvel Comics, it also made me think about the mutant superhero team, the X-Men.

Art is meant to be interpreted by the listener. What the artist intended means next to nothing unless your purpose is to distinguish the artist's intent. And if that's what you want to do, fine. But art speaks to the individuals. Whether this is a Christian song or not is completely, utterly irrelevant - get what you want from it.

@TobiTehMajyk I understand the artist designed it as a Christian and he made it in tribute to God, I just don't think the artist's intentions ever really matter that much in general. I read A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift and got something far different from it than Ireland's follies, and there's nothing wrong with that. Therefore, there's nothing wrong with an atheist or a Buddhist or a Shintoist listening to this song and getting something different from it than the Christian message.

I enjoy this bands music, and most christian bands actually. I do not believe in organized religion however, although I believe my myself to be spiritual. I just don't follow a book that was written thousands of years ago and interpreted hundreds of different ways. I just follow my conscience.

The Bible is very similar. The Apostles wrote the New Testament. But they wrote what Jesus did. Not just what He said. A very clear yet subtle difference there. And you can check it yourself. Go read the Greek manuscripts. The Dead Sea scrolls. They match up. :)

I agree with @Llawliet246. All art, especially music, can be interpreted in different ways depending on the listener/viewer. I, for example, read this song as a pro-gay rights song, because of lines like "How did we forget that we don't have to hide?", "We'll never believe the lies again", "We won't be denied", "We won't hide our faces from the light, eliminate the space between us", and the most obvious one, "It's who we are, we are forever". Think about it for a minute if you disagree.

@TobiTehMajyk That's basically what I said. Different people would interpret the song in different ways based on their individual thoughts and beliefs. Being gay, I heard it as a gay rights song. But, as a fan of Marvel Comics, it also made me think about the mutant superhero team, the X-Men.

Art is meant to be interpreted by the listener. What the artist intended means next to nothing unless your purpose is to distinguish the artist's intent. And if that's what you want to do, fine. But art speaks to the individuals. Whether this is a Christian song or not is completely, utterly irrelevant - get what you want from it.

@TobiTehMajyk I understand the artist designed it as a Christian and he made it in tribute to God, I just don't think the artist's intentions ever really matter that much in general. I read A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift and got something far different from it than Ireland's follies, and there's nothing wrong with that. Therefore, there's nothing wrong with an atheist or a Buddhist or a Shintoist listening to this song and getting something different from it than the Christian message.

I enjoy this bands music, and most christian bands actually. I do not believe in organized religion however, although I believe my myself to be spiritual. I just don't follow a book that was written thousands of years ago and interpreted hundreds of different ways. I just follow my conscience.

@mrC4m4r3r0yo Yes sir, you will need to say more. You can say that about an holy book. The Qur'an is the same way. Muhammad may have prophesied it, but his followers are the ones that wrote it. The Bible is very similar. The Apostles wrote the New Testament. But they wrote what Jesus did. Not just what He said. A very clear yet subtle difference there. And you can check it yourself. Go read the Greek manuscripts. The Dead Sea scrolls. They match up. :)

@TobiTehMajyk What the hell are you talking about? How am I proving your point? Your point is that Christians have to hide the fact that they are christian. I AM SAYING that it's just the opposite. They can go ALMOST ANYWHERE and they will be fine if they say they are christian.
You said they act differently out of church to "slip under the radar and avoid attention", and I am saying they act differently because they simply aren't actual christians.

ASIDE from that, I DON'T agree that they have it so hard in the world. Without doubt they have it the easiest. You realize that almost every american president so far has been christian? If a candidate were to say he was atheist it would, unfortunately, hurt his chances.

@Serephus Well, then you can believe that. My point is that people in this country leave church and just totally change. And because of that they can choose to act like they're not a christian any time they want. i.e. if our country was invaded, and the invaders were going to kill all the Christians, not a lot of people would die. That's my point. They need to be who God calls them to be. Not fakes. And sadly, it doesnt take a situation HALF as serious as that to get one to defect. :/

@TobiTehMajyk That's true, but if in fact anyone invaded this country, there are very low chances that they would try to kill all the Christians specifically, because most countries in the world are either predominantly christian or at least tolerant of it. Anyway, I think we both made our points lol.
