I would never imagine myself saying that but I have to admit that the Fender Stratocaster was by far the best sounding guitar in them :O I think I'm beginning to see why so many famous players don't give their Stratocasters up..

its most likely heavily compressed and edited after the recording. plus mics change the sound anyway.

Has anyone tried to connect to the High Gain and Low Gain inputs at the same time and then switch been the two inputs (by using an A/B box) to get different sounds "on the fly"? I'm wondering if this is recommended or will cause harm to the amp? I also wonder if there is a significant change in volume between both inputs which makes it unusuable.

Is everything else between the Venus 5 and 6 including the external / oversized heatsink the same except for the one extra gain stage, the footswitches, and switchable fx loop vs reverb per channel because I am wondering why the Venus 5 is a little less expensive? I am also wondering if the Venus 5 is capable of pulling off the same tones as the Venus 6 and more. I also noticed that the Venus 5 has no master volume but a ninja on the footswitch so I guess you can't control the break up level? Tx

Just to clarify, you can't control the break up level on channel 2 only... :)

The Venus 5 can't produce the Venus 6 tones. Totally different tones on channel 1. You can beak-up the Venus 6's channel 2 a low volumes because of the master. The Venus 5 has a little more headroom but breakup would be loud. There' more power tubes on the Venus 6 adding to the cost

Hey Rivera guys, do the 5 and the 6 have the same preamp circuit?

The 6 sounds "smoother" than the 5. I dont know that the 6 would cut through for hard rock.

The 6 also seems to have more breakup or hair. Is this jsut the power tube differences?

The Venus 5 has one more gain stage to channel 1, giving it way more gain.
