Hi! New viewer here. Just got caught up with the NEW series. Whew. I notice you are using two picks and switching between the two. I'm assuming one is Efficiency and the other Fortune? I noticed you said something in a previous episode about using a Fortune pick on Iron, but I wanted to let you know (which you probably know) but Fortune has no effect on blocks that drop "blocks" (Iron, Stone, Dirt) only on ones that drop non-block resources (Coal, Diamond, Redstone, Lapis). Anyway, great show!

@KeinName35 Are you playing SMP? The XP sounds make the normal plop sounds for me in SMP, though in SSP they make the chiming noise. :)

Doc, for putting your nether portal out why not have some water behind those 2 pistons at the top, and when you click it a button it quickly releases a bit of water? Surely that would work fine :)

I have to admit though, I don't know why there is snow in the perimeter, but it has me nervous. I searched for and found a snow biome in particular in my SMP server, so I can build there, but if the biomes are changing /again/ then everything since minecon was for naught. :(

@docm77 why dont you use more fire to make the portal activate faster? every fire block will search for other blocks... same idea as you had for the day/night bud-switch more fire = more sensitive = faster. is there some more space for fire?

@mighty0mario It's in one of the weekly snapshots, specifically the one named "11w49a" which was released December 8, 2011. You have to download the .jar from Mojang's assests website, and then replace your minecraft.jar. Only recommend doing so if you know what I'm talking about already, or if you are willing to learn. :)

hey docm, there is apperently a new update that allows crashing airships to fall near your house.

its 1 in a 1000 chance of it falling near your house, thought u might want to check it out on the wiki and integrate it into your world. Happy to Help :)

Just wondering. When you were showing off the nether portal the painting seemed to be in the portal itself, as though it occupies the same blocks as the middle two portal blocks. Is that me not seeing things properly or is there something else going on?

@SamJamesCrawford Weird portal behavior. That's why I did put ut there. You cannot break it with water, but it can exists with the painting. Both seem to have no collission mask.
