You fight ex-humans converted by aliens. It made me wonder, the whole ability to carry ten weapons, no regenerating health, no cover based shooting, was that for fun or because they want to be Valve? Even the credits resemble Valve's style. You can't tell me Insomniac Games aren't Valve wannabees.

@TornAsunderx It's likely they have copied the basic storyline with the portal and towers and everything, it's almost excatly the same story just re-modeled into a slightly diffirent map and universe.

I doubt they want to be Valve, it's very difficult for them to beat Valve from what I seen. Valve make better games, in my opinion.

@red244 Valve is better than Insomniac Games in pretty much every way. IG barely have any other gaming series but Spyro and Ratchet & Clank, and arguably those aren't as innovative or great as Half-Life and Portal are to name a few. The story behind Resistance is a little too similar to Half-Life to be considered a coincidence to me.

@TornAsunderx i can tell you. you are clearly thinking shit through to much. not only that but the whole alien design, way of acting is diffrent from half life. also resistance had a weapon wheel in part 1, so rlly, that carry 10 weapons comment of yours is not valid, since they had that from the start of development. the alien towers also already were in part 1. and so was no regeneration health for the most part. who cares about the credits style really, that's just kind of sad on your part

If you know anything about the Combine from Half-Life 2, you'll realize that they're exactly the same as Chimera lore wise, excluding obvious design differences. Half-Life was first published in 1998, followed by Half-Life 2 in 2004. Resistance came out in 2006. Insomnia Games clearly played Half-Life 2, liked the story and decided to replicate it and make a trilogy out of it.

They have unlimited imagination when it comes to writing a story and they blatantly took one that already existed and barely bothered to change it around except by adding different monsters, guns, a protagonist who actually talks, and multiplayer. Ratchet & Clank (and Spyro) were pretty bad games, but I give Insomniac props for actually creating their own original story. I never said I hated Resistance, it's just blatant that they took a previously existed story and built a game off of it, a game that existed already and was executed way better at that. Inspiration doesn't mean to steal or do the exact same thing, by the way.
