@KeziaHorn12 Ha, well, as a smoker, I read the lyrics pretty straight forward. So perhaps it is simply a literal take on how obnoxious it is to have continue to be a smoker.

"always out always in" - the act of smoking

"silverline" smoke cloud

and "rain", well, cigarettes are for some reason better when it is raining. Perhaps he is implying that he wants a reason to continue because it is the one time he actually enjoys the obviously bad habit of smoking

Or perhaps I'm completely clueless!? :)

You know, he could, but if you consider the following:

1. The line before he's talking about coming and going ("not staying")

2. The line after ("my finger tip") COULD make more sense with "not stay", as in it's tapping against his leg or head perhaps.

3. Related #2, "thinking"... folks tap their fingers ("not staying") then they think.

I really examine the lyrics when I make these, but I am certainly interested in hearing what you think.

haha okay so im not that new. i have over 300 songs and i've heard them all but theres still plenty that are out there that arnt on cds, #40 for example not being on a studio album, or songs like what will become of me, that just basically disappeared by evolving into new songs. i think its part of the charm of dave to not have all of it on cds, which allows room for improvising at concerts and what not im just saying it would be nice to be able to more easily get hold of some of these songs

ive always found that they have a been a bit better live then in a studio. so make sure you get hold of some concerts that hes done, such as piedmont park, live at rothbury, and definitely live at radio city.

Actually, I think it's supposed to be "Silver Line". The song is talking a lot about rain and clouds, and things getting better. A "Silver Line" of an event means that even though you see clouds, the sun is sometimes visible around the edges... aka, times will get better. But, I could be completely off... Dave isn't always the most clearly spoken vocalist.

Well, it depends how old the CD player is. The newer ones do just fine with burned CDs, and even mp3 files. If you have an older CD player, burn the CD at the slowest speed possible, as this will increase compatibility.

Yup. Just download the .WAV files and use your burning program to burn an audio CD. Nero does it, and I think Windows may be able to do it too. Does that help?

Hey there. This song was SUPPOSED to be released on Some Devil, but later on, Dave felt it didn't fit with the album. As far as the new album, well... who knows. It was supposed to be this last July 2007, but who knows. I imagine that they'll be in the studio these upcoming winter months and maybe we'll see something in the Spring.
