There's a reason why they don't use terms like Shinigami-sama in the dub. This is an English dub. And it's an anime that takes place in America.

The dub for this is actually very good. Usually, the dub voices are awful in comparison the the originals, but Funimation does a great job at casting their voice actors. As for Soul Eater, the only English Voice substancially inferior to the original is BlackStar and it eventually grows on you.

The voices don't suck, that was just someone explaining what the show was about. I've seen the first 4 episodes of the dub and there kickass. FUNimation hardly ever fucks up a voice cast, only 4Kids does that. There was only two parts in that whole video that featured her real dubbed voice, 0:12 and 1:01.There's a difference. It may not be a awesome as the subbed ones but do they have to be. Why wait for the DVD when you can find the episodes on there site or the internet.

This trailer makes it seem like Maka and Soul are the only main characters. Soul Eater has an ensemble cast; it's just as much about Maka and Soul as it is about Black Star and Tsubaki or Death the Kid and the Thompsons.

I love this anime ^^ I'm glad they chose a good voice for maka. but I've heard the dub voice for soul and it's KINDA straying from what his voice sounds like in the original. errrrrrr I like his voice better in the japanese one. I'm going to try my best to buy this on DVD though, as usually when you buy anime you have a choice of subbed or dubbed. I enjoy listening to japanese not only cause it sounds cool, but it's closer to what the mangaka imagined for the character when they wrote the story.

I doubt that Funiamtion has this problem about not finishing some of their anime over 30 episodes if the first two parts didnt make enough money. Thats is a rare thing. I mean sure they finished FMA, Tsubasa, Yu Yu Hakusho. only beacuse those shows were popular. They even said that due to sales going up, they said that they would finished Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple. I'd say, when you pick an anime to dub, dub it from begining to end.
