Shane, I dig the fact you are a Blueshirt & Mets fan but this list needs work my friend if it's to be a RANGERS LIST. Off the bat you can eliminate past their primes Jagr, Gartner & Gretzky. Gresh is borderline. Re-work it with Howell, Park ( if not for a fellow named Orr, he'd be the 1st #2 retired to the rafters ), Ratelle, The Cook Bros., Bathgate. If you're adding past their primes than include Dionne, Hall, Poddubny, Bure etc. Try a most beloved Rangers list which would be interesting
I think these kinds of Top 10 lists should be about who helped the Rangers to success the most. In the last 2 of 3 seasons that Gretzky spent in New York, WE DIDN"T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. I think Mark Messier should be at #1. Then Leetch, Ritcher, Graves, Gilbert, Ratelle, Giacomin, Bathgate, Howell, Jagr.
Have you smoked something? Wayne Gretzky is the best Ranger of all time? Here's my top 10: Leetch, Messier, Gilbert, Giacomin, Ratelle, Richter, Jagr, Greshner, Bathgate, Howell
You think of Espo as a Bruin, but you don't think of Jagr as a Penguin first or Gretz as an Oiler or King first? Sorry, no dice there. Can understand Mess and Gravy becuase even though they did more as Oilers they were the backbone of the 94 team. But Jagr and Gretz didn't do anything for the Blueshirts, even Gartner is questionable on the list. No Bathgate, Howell, Hatfield, Park, Ratelle on the list?? And Leetch should be #1.
Gretzky was a great player but didn't do much for the Rangers he definitly shouldn't have been number one. Number one should have been either Leetch, Messier or Richter.
that list was only O.K. Mark Messier was definitely the best rangers player ever. And why the heck was Gretzky on there, he barely even played for NYR
@jokerpro09 it was just a showdown for the rangers they didnt even made the playoffs when Mr.Gretzky played for the mighty rangers,Messier,Leetch.Richter,Gartner,Esposito,Greschner and surely Gilbert these guys woooow real hockey legends
why would you put wayne gretzky as number 1 he had a short tenure with them and didnt do as much with themn as did in his prime rod gibert should be a shoe in for number 1
true but when i think of esposito i always remember him as a bruin. it's tough to put someone like that in the top 10 when he plays for a rival team like that. besides, esposito scored maybe 100 of the 700 goals he scored career, the majority of which were in a boston uniform. that being said i do respect your opinion, just don't call me buddy. thanks for watchin, man.
One guy who desrved to be in there maybe more than Gartner is Jean Ratelle. After Messier there is no doubt he was the best center in Rangers history, and in fact he had more points as a Ranger (817) than anyone except Leetch and Gilbert. I think longevity has to stand for something and for this reason I'd perhaps include Ratelle and exclude Gartner, even though his numbers with us were great. Obviously following that line of thinking I could exclude Gretzky, but I just can't. Good list.
