Cal barely beat Fresno State a little over a week ago. NO matter how you parse it, men's tennis has dropped off so much. It's not right to blame it all on Peter Wright, btw. As a player, he embodied that Cal blue-collar spirit you'd see in players who I first watched, like Harold Hecht. We need more eager-beaver 2nd tier kids from SoCal who came to Cal cuz they hated 'SC or was jilted by LA schools. IMHO, Euros dont have the same spirit that Hecht, Wright, Hunt (rip) brought to Cal's game.
The reason they play lets is because before they did many players would cheat and call a let on a serve that was an ace. Or, they would call lets until their opponent double faulted. The idea is that the player should be able to handle serves that just skim over the net and barely touch it. The kind of let that happened here is a rarity.
i guess your right, but they should have a limit, like the ball should have to land passed the service line after the bounce, cause getting cheap points like that is just ridiculous

they play lets because people cheat for example when they are aced they just say it is a let.

The players made the calls. This match did have a chair umpire to handle disputes though.
